A Great Little Powerhouse

A Great Little Powerhouse

95 days ago by Cortland | 2 comments »

This is a great, comparatively light, little compressor that drives my Milwaukee stapler, brad driver, 15 and 16-gauge finish nailers with ease. I have high expectations for any Senco product, so I did notice one minor design flaw if you plan to use a filter at the compressor connection. The compressor female quick release is facing more toward the roll bar frame instead of being angled away from it. There isn’t enough physical space to clear a large in-line air filter, so instead of...

What is wrong with Bostitch?

What is wrong with Bostitch?

120 days ago by sboyle | 30 comments »

I bought a compressor not too long ago. It ran good for a while and now the pressure doesn’t build up. From what I read it is the valve assembly. I don’t know if I should replace it or just buy another brand. I thought Bostitch made good tools but this just changed my opinion. I read that one person actually replaced it 3 times. Am I wasting my time with this one? Should I toss it and buy another brand? Any opinions would be appreciated. I think I will be staying away from Bostitc...

How to Use your pneumatic tools without a compressor

How to Use your pneumatic tools without a compressor

122 days ago by jerryz | 10 comments »

I got this at WoodCraft and had a chance to use it last weekend with my framing nailer.I drove 2 3/4” nails into 2×4 Pressure Treated Lumber to make a frame. Let’s say that it definetively works as stated. With the 9oz CO2 bottle I was able to complete my project, the nails were driven deeply without issues.I also used it with my brad nailer. It works just like a normal regulator and you can adjust the pressure according to your tool requirements. What I like it most is that I ...

Hitachi Compressor - Nice for the Price

Hitachi Compressor - Nice for the Price

123 days ago by reggiek | 5 comments »

I just replaced my old pancake compressor ( A Porter Cable – a few gasps and then gave up the ghost – after about 9 years of very hard service) with this model from Hitachi. It was very reasonably priced even if not on sale!...and has more power and more capacity then my old model. So far it works great!....and I am very happy with the extra capacity. I use the mini compressor’s to blow off tools, work areas, projects and to run finish nailers, staplers, framing nailer...

Great & Quiet Portable Belt Drive Compressor

Great & Quiet Portable Belt Drive Compressor

130 days ago by Cato | 7 comments »

When I discovered that my loud old direct drive unit would not supply enough air to run my new framing nailer I started searching for a portable belt drive replacement with a 4 or higher CFM @ 90 PSI, which is supposed to be adequate for framers. I wanted a belt drive because I knew they were quieter, and I couldn’t stand the noise of my old one. I searched on the web and found this compressor to be highly rated by contractors, and it was supposed to be very quiet with plenty of pow...

Makita MAC2400 Oiled Twin Hot Dog Compressor

Makita MAC2400 Oiled Twin Hot Dog Compressor

My lovely wife posted this tool review in one of my blogs by mistake. I wasn’t about to complain about it at that time. One thing I have learned over the years is, if MaMa does something nice for you, Never complain! Now that it has been awhile I thought I should post it in the tool review section. After doing a lot of reserch and looking at different compressors, I settled on this Makita. It is by far the most unbelievably quit compressor I have ever heard. Because my shop is small,...

JacPac CO2 Compressor - Very Good

JacPac CO2 Compressor - Very Good

234 days ago by CharlieD | 13 comments »

Recently, I bought the JacPac CO2 portable compressor product and it sat in my shop for a couple of months before I used it. I like it a lot and will use it a lot… going forward. It is very handy when you have to do work outside a location where you have a compressor or one with no electricity. I took it to a house where I needed to finish up a small job. I took my Bostitch 15 gauge angle nailer and 18 gauge PC. I took the 18 guage because I thought it might not drive the 2 inch ...

Porter Cable Air Compressor

Porter Cable Air Compressor

268 days ago by JayDee | 10 comments »

I replaced my old Husky air compressor with the one shown. This model is much quieter with twice the horse power. It is a two stage, oil free compressor with a 25 gal. tank. I find the whole unit is built much better than the Husky I had. I brlieve it was worth the extra money. I also ran about 60 lin. ft. of hard air lines with three drops. Each drop has a petcock to release condensation build-up and a quick disconnect. The air lines cost me about $200.00 in materials and about 7 hours labor...

Good compressor for nailing work

Good compressor for nailing work

368 days ago by ferstler | 4 comments »

I have had this oil-free compressor for several years and have used it in conjunction with my Ridgid and Campbell-Hausfeld framing nailers to add timbering to my attic trusses, build a fancy coffered ceiling in my garage, and add additional nails to the siding on my house. I have also used it to power finishing and brad nailers for assorted projects. The thing works just fine. The calibration is perfect and I appreciate not having to worry about oil in the compressor section. It weighs 70 ...
