Great Circular Saw

Great Circular Saw

So my experience is limited with circular saws. I used my Dad’s 1980’s craftsman a few times and I was always terrified at how loud it was. Anyways, I’m sure I would be very happy with any new circular saw that I purchased because I’ve really only used an old chunky low quality saw with a crappy blade. Anyways, here is my thought process on why I chose this saw and my first impressions from using it. Off to HD for some hands on… Step 1—FitRegardles...

Quality is quality, good design is good design, both make life easier

I am somewhat new to woodworking but have done a few successful projects. Much of what I have had to do is break down large sheets for cabinet projects in the shop, built in cabinets, etc. Trying to do that by yourself on a table saw is difficult and I just can’t seem to get my wife interested in helping ;-). There is always a debate about the cost of tools and value. Time for me is the most precious resource. Consequently, as someone that is earlier in their woodworking journey,...

No Slowing Down

No Slowing Down

I researched several skill saws before buying this one. I wanted a saw that was reliable and square…period. This is what I decided on. It has been a good saw. I mostly cut old barn wood for rustic table work. So I don’t know what I’ll be cutting many times, age, condition, dry, wet, etc. I do clean up the nails well and remove first. This Milwauee Saw really does cut all the way through the cut smoothly with no bogging down at all. I use my speed square during most cuts f...

Cheap and does what I need it to do

Cheap and does what I need it to do

I picked this up at Home Depot a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I only have a benchtop table saw. That means no cross cutting or ripping sheet goods. There is only 6” in front of the throat, and anything that small gets cross cut on my sliding miter saw. So why on earth would I buy a 40.00$ saw? Well, read below. I will say this has seen some fairly heavy use in the past few weeks. Here are my observations: 1 – The blade. This is a large reason why this saw got 3 stars. Out of t...

handy little guy

handy little guy

Well, i’ve had this handy little guy lying around for a couple months now and I think I’ve put it through its paces for wood. I bought it because sometimes my circular saw is a little overkilll. Also, I have a few jobs I need to do that would require me to hold a circular saw over my head (eg. trimming some lengths of already installed fence boards), something that i’m not totally comfortable with. For those that don’t know, this is a mini-circular saw, set up for p...

Dewalt tracksaw

I have been drooling over the thought of owning a tracksaw for a few years now, and i finally broke down and bought one a couple days ago! I have always been the type to wait and buy a tool when i need to put it right to work. I am working on a big trophy/show case job right now and wanted to make all the backs of these cases out of 3/4” oak plywood in order to have some good meat there to mount all the adjustible shelf tracking too. I really didnt want to wrestle all these sheets (a...

Great saw well worth the money!!

Great saw well worth the money!!

I’m starting over with my workshop and this is my First purchase for it. I ordered this saw back in June from my local Woodcraft, It arrived 3 weeks later in their store for me to pick up. The saw and rail came very well packaged and received no damage from UPS’s punishment. The manual is very nicely done and is easy to read. The action is like butter and glides effortlessly down the rail. You will cut the splinter strip on the guide rail on the first cut, but that is normal so do...

Nice Left-Blade Saw

Nice Left-Blade Saw

I have really enjoyed my new circular saw since my skil saw bit the dust. I have remodeled a commercial office, and built some wainscoting with it and can now give it favorable reviews. I like the left blade for better sight of your cut line. I has plenty of power, and is easy to use. It follows a clamp-and-cut straight edge well, and easily breaks down sheet goods for cutting at the tablesaw. It doesn’t have a safety switch on the trigger, but I always use the blade guard so it wo...

Best Circular Saw I have ever used....

Best Circular Saw I have ever used....

We purchased the TS 75 Plunge Saw a few months ago after another regular circular saw fried on me again. I am not a contractor or a woodworking professional; but, I do expect things to work for more than a couple of years. I chose the TS 75 after being fortunate enough to use a friends TS 55 to rough out the pieces for a couple of book cases. Power:The 75 has plenty of power to cut my sheet goods and rough lumber to usable dimensions with lots to spare. Accuracy:With the included tra...
