The Harbor Freight item numbers 60566, 67227, 69567 is a 27 LED light that pops up as a no-purchase freebie every now and then. I’ve amassed a very disturbing collection of them, with at least 4 spread out in my family cars, and a slew of them all over the house. The LEDs are bright, and the magnet and hook have come in handy when I use them for what they are intended for. What can someone complain about on a 100% freebie (remember, no-purchase!)? Well my secondary use for these f...

Almost in my own backyard.

Almost in my own backyard.

Howdy, I had an awesome morning. Yep I got up early. Fixed this here PC and waited for a reply to my text. I got it around 8.30 AM. I was on the road by 8.45 and heading up North to a town called Sherman Texas. I had been looking forward to this little trip for a month. I had a little extra driving to do after I hit Sherman but oh what a drive. I made this drive to buy some live edge siding – but not for siding. I’m going to build my daughter’s bed f...

Sandstrom 28A Dry Film Lubricant

Sandstrom 28A Dry Film Lubricant

I recently received a sample of this product to review on my woodworking tools. So far I’ve only applied it to my wood lathe, but I’ll soon be treating my table saws with it too. 28A is a dry film lubricant that has a working temperature range of -320°f to 320°f and can withstand loads not in excess of 100,000 psi! This product does not have lead or graphite in it. Instead is has Molybdenum Disulfide as it’s lubricative agent. The short and sweet is that this produc...

Project EVS Vacuum pump

Project EVS Vacuum pump

There are many different kinds of vacuum presses. Wading through which you need can be daunting. Buying a vacuum system can also be costly. I went with the EVS Project at http://www.veneersupplies.com/pages/DIY__Vacuum__Press.html. These pumps require putting some parts together and some very simple wiring. I had never done this sort of thing. I’m a woodworker, not an electrician and had no idea what a manifold was. But everything I read about the company from its customers was very po...

A while back I bought the Kreg Jig HD to build a farmhouse table. I wanted to be able to take the table apart so I decided on pocket holes to do the trick but didn’t think that my normal Kreg jig would do the job. I had tried using it on larger items before and it didn’t work out as well. Then I found the Kreg Jig HD and thought I would give it a try. I went to my local Menards to buy it on one of their 11% off sales (you just get a rebate to go back and get more) and picked one u...

Let's get bent!

Had the idea to use a top and bottom toolbox combo as auxiliary tool and supply storage. My thought process concluded the HF item would fit the deal. Then I would add on with using a two drawer “mid” box to increase space. First ordered a Waterloo two drawer unit online. Fedex literally dropped it at my door. My complaints to the seller resulted in a refund of a third of purchase price. Next found the HF box on sale during a parking lot sale for 299.99, but out of stock...

Great! Could use some loops though :)

So I’ve had/been using this apron since April of this year (happy Birthday to me!) and I have to say Marc S. did a great job designing it! I love the ruggedness of the canvas, the huge pockets, and the fact there are two pencil holder pockets. The crossed straps and the extra clip strap in the back does help it hug no matter what size you are and not catch anything. I track in less sawdust now than before – always a bonus! My only feedback would be to put a loop or two on it som...

Artisan Apron in Rust Wax Canvas

Artisan Apron in Rust Wax Canvas

Just as I was finishing ripping some lumber on my table saw, standing off the side slightly, the cut piece got bumped a bit as I hit the power switch. As the blade spun down the piece slowly rotated into the blade. I knew there was no chance of me moving in time. My t-shirt got ripped and I used quite a few paper towels to clean up the surface wound (not to mention OW!) on my stomach. My wife said she’d get me an apron for my birthday (and evidently REASONS!). Years ago I got to ...

Got this one to use with my planer for a jointing sled ,works really well, seems to be well made and strong and is versatile with a single roller and also comes with the ball bearing set of rollers that is easy to change to with just a flip and locking latch ,, makes it adaptable to use with the table saw .and folds up for ease of storage .thinking of maybe another for the infeed end ,now using it at the outfeed end .https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web...
