Excellent Quality, Anxiety Gone, Cost a Non-Factor

I just got back into wood working a little over a year ago and bought a very nice used Delta Contractor Saw. I had no issues with the power and attributes of a fine running machine. A fine running machine I operated for over a year without a blade guard (SHAME on me!) as my respect of the saw’s power was high and my fear was low on using this machine. I was ripping about a 12” wide board in half that was about a foot long. The wood rose up and kicked back, hitting me square in the...

Jet model CTAS 10-1 right tilt, 3 HP 220V

I bought this saw 25 years ago. I thought a review of this saw would be useful to people looking for good used machines on E-Bay and CL. It has been across the country in my many moves. I believe the price at the time was around $1100. I added a Biesemeyer 54” fence to it as soon as I got it. It has seen much use over it’s 25+ years. It still runs perfectly; bearings are tight; top is flat; everything remains aligned. I couldn’t ask any more from a saw. It would compare favo...

Don't waste your time or money with this saw

Don't waste your time or money with this saw

The MSRP on this saw is $7,500, most online retailers sell it for somewhere around $5,000. I bought mine new through a auction at a local store where this was a floor model for about what you would spend on a standard Grizzly cabinet saw – which I wish I’d done instead. This saw is poorly engineered and dangerous. You can overcome many of the problems with the saw by adding your own work-arounds and aftermarket accessories, but it seems absurd that you should have to. I̵...

It's a good saw for it's intended use.

It's a good saw for it's intended use.

Ok, I bought one of these. It was a temporary saw and never intended to be my main saw. It is has a certain cool factor to it too. I think this is a great saw for a person who does floor installs and other small on the job carpentry work. All of the accessories are easy to access and held in place quite well. The fence worked, it came with a push stick and a miter but lets face it, a miter fence on most saws is not a top line item and it’s true in this case too. I originally bought this ...

A GOOD LITTLE SAW

A GOOD LITTLE SAW

296 days ago by PatrickB | 3 comments »

While this saw is not made anymore (it is made in another version) I found it to suffice for my needs at the time. The covering on the table wore off kind of quick but it did not impact the performance of the saw. For a job site saw the fence was adequate but nothing fantastic. I did put a WoodWorker II saw blade on it and that made a difference in how the saw cut. For over $100.00 it better make a difference!! I was able to 8/4 wood for cutting boards with this saw. I will admit it did not ...

Barely cuts 3/4 inch oak ISSUE RESOLVED!!

Okay, so after not having a table saw for about 4 months since we moved and had to leave my brother’s 89 dollar pro-tech saw behind, my wife finally decided to get me the Grizzly G0715P. All in all, I would rate the actual saw a 4 out of 5. I gave it 3 stars because of the lack of power. I found an extention cord, cut to a shorter length, to act as my wire for my 110v re-wire, since the apartment I’m in said I can’t install a 220v outlet for it. so I got the 6 dollar cir...

Another 1023 RLW review.

Another 1023 RLW review.

So let me just say thanks to the community, I don’t normally post anything anywhere but this community was very helpful in making my decision so I feel the need to give back. Hope this helps anyone looking to buy this saw. After trolling these boards and agonizing for about a year I pulled the trigger on a 1023 RLW. Also, so you know where I’m coming from I spent the majority of my childhood learning and projecting on my grandfathers delta unisaw w/bis fence and worked in a sma...

Newbie searching BORGs for TS

Newbie searching BORGs for TS

I’m basically brand new to woodworking and recently bought a Ridgid R4512 as my first table saw. I wanted to write a post to consolidate a lot of the information that I found while researching this saw. I’m going to start with a section on the things I found while researching my purchase and finish with a couple of observations from the very basic work I’ve done so far. Like many people considering this saw, my budget was limited to about $600. This quickly narrowed my se...

Like going from a Pinto to a Mustang

Like going from a Pinto to a Mustang

Before I begin my review of the Grizzly TS, my previous TS was a cheap Craftsman. So please keep that in mind as you read my review. Purchasing decision: Before I purchased the 1023RLW, I did my research on the various types of table saws out there. I considered the Bosch 4100 but it was no bigger than my Craftsman. I also considered the Rigid R4512 and Porter-Cable PCB270. The Rigid’s split fence rail design turned me off completely although many say it’s not that big of a ...

The Full Potential of the R4512

The Full Potential of the R4512

I have an R4512 with a MLCS cast-iron router table extension, Incra 32” TS-LS fence system, Incra 1000HD miter guage and 48 tooth WWII blade. I love this saw and have no complaints other than being underpowered at times. However, once everything is properly calibrated I would argue that this setup could perform as well as any comparable duty saws and it has made me very happy to own. The MLCS cast-iron extension bolted up easily with the supplied hardware. The middle bolt was tric...
