Great saw, upgrade fence ASAP!

Great saw, upgrade fence ASAP!

ok, So I researched Table saws for a while before I settled on this one. The only problem I have with this saw is the fence. It is a two piece system and I hate trying to align it. They should offer a small tube of Loc-tite for this to keep them from loosening! Or just simply make a one piece rail system!! It is garbage. In its defense I will say that i am used to the uni-fence and that may cause a little hate towards this unit. Ok now that i got that out of the way, all in all I do reco...

SawStop 10-Inch Contractor saw. It's a complicated relationship.

SawStop 10-Inch Contractor saw. It's a complicated relationship.

Since the SawStop is really two products I am going to break this review down in to two parts. The first part is the saw it’s self and the other part is the break. I have had my SawStop for about a year now, it is, like the title says a 10-Inch contractor with 30” rails and outfeed table. Saw review. The saw it’s self is rather nice for a contractor saw. I would say it is very high quality manufacturing and there is great attention to detail. The directions like every othe...

And I got money’s worth with the Craftsman Contractor Table Saw, model 21833. One of the benefits to being out of work is that I can shop endlessly on Craigslist- I saw someone selling this good looking table saw for $450.00, checked the reviews on Lumberjocks and decided this might fit my needs. As luck would have it, there were 2 available at the Sears Outlet Store. One was in Minneapolis, 1,500 miles away and one at the store just 25 miles away. I hustled on over, paid $330.00 before ta...

My Grizzy Experience

My Grizzy Experience

Hello, This is my first post, but I wanted to talk about my experience so far. After much research I decided to buy a Grizzly 715 hybrid table saw. It arrived well packed and in excellent condition. I took my time setting it up and installing my TS-LS positioner with router table. It took me a couple weeks to finish, working a couple hours at night. I have to say over all I am very impressed with the saw. I like the build quality and the fit and finish are very good. The cast iron table is le...

Grizzly G0690 Sawed in Alabama

Grizzly G0690 Sawed in Alabama

I finally have 220 in the shop now and cut my first piece of wood with this saw.Only a 2×6 but it went through the saw like warm butter. I was very pleased.Vibration is near zero and the saw is very quite; I was surprised as to just how quiet. This is my 3rd table saw all others were big box bought portable contractor type. I’m not going to repeat all the specs again, most folks here already know about this saw. As far as the cosmolene there was very little actually; I was...

Dadoing

Please don’t be too concerned with my 3 STAR evaluation, I had to put something there and haven’t had the opportunity to use the saw. I am getting ready to start my first project, by the time I am through, I will be ready to give it a better/worse rating. I just purchased this R4510 Ridgid. I like it so far but it does have some irritating points. Trying to find a zero clearance insert for the standard blade and a dado blade is a lesson in futility. I finally had to make my own...

SawStop 1.75HP Cabinet Saw with 36" rails review

SawStop 1.75HP Cabinet Saw with 36" rails review

06-29-2011 at 07:44 PM by Ty | 10 comments »

After much contemplation, I purchased the SawStop 1.75 Cabinet Saw with 36” rails. For several years, the only table saw I ever experienced was a Delta contractor saw. So yes, SawStop is a HUGE upgrade. First, the assembly directions are extremely well done. Absolutely no problem putting this saw together, other than the Woodcraft employee who didn’t know what SawStop was and failed to give me the correct rails. Aside from that issue, I was able to assemble the saw approximat...

Was happy, now taking it back!

PLEASE NOTE I have edited this review after a few weeks with the saw. Here is the original review and my update follows: I accidentally spent the whole day in the garage assembling my new Ridgid saw. So here are my impressions: The saw is very sturdy, and assembly was very easy despite a few typos and some items that were not clearly identified. All the parts are well machined, and everything has a good but not excessive coat of cosmoline. I will not that there are several review...

Blade alignment issues all of the sudden

Blade alignment issues all of the sudden

06-15-2011 at 12:06 AM by NormG | 15 comments »

I purchased this saw as an upgrade February 2010, at a very good price with the blessings of my wife. I initially had some of the same issues others had with the set up of this TS. My son saw an entry in LJ’s that very helpful and I joined. I changed the bolts, washers, etc. What was the most help was an entry that suggested loosening the 45/90 set screws in front of the blade and everything just fell right into place. The saw was packed well, it did not have damage and/or missin...
