height adjustment

I have owned this saw for almost two years. I am going to retire in a little over a year and I have been setting up my workshop with tools that I feel I will need at that time. I haven’t been able to work down there very much but have done some work there. My question is the height adjustment. It won’t go down. It is in the up position now but won’t move. It has been this way ever since I have had it but didn’t do any thing with because I didn’t have the time. No...

I bought the Grizzly G0690 about 6 months ago and feel like that’s enough usage to talk about my thoughts. It’s a damn good saw. I don’t have any major complaints after using it for this long. Just a couple nit-picky things that I don’t think justify bringing this down from 5 stars. After comparing prices on similar spec saws I would definitely buy this saw again if I had to do it all over. Pros:strong motorgreat fencelarge cast surfacebest value compared to other b...

Ridgid 4512 and a 10mm handgun

Ridgid 4512 and a 10mm handgun

I bought a Brand new RIDGID R4512 this spring and this is my story. Got it at HOME CHEAPO 15 miles away. Mother weighed in at 250 plus pounds. Took me and 2 employees to lift it into my truck Took most of the afternoon to assemble, partially because of my 8 pound water head didn’t do it right a couple of times. The MOTOR and table assembly COMES up side down in the box and that is how I cut the box off off it, and it was a real piece of work to get it flipped over with only my se...

When i was just starting out woodworking i didnt know anything about tools. I went to school for engineering and did mostly metal working. From this i knew i didnt want a tiny little tool that wouldnt work worth a darn and to make sure that the model i bought was common enough to get parts and accessories. After searching google for table saw review and beginner table saw i found the bosch 4100-09. It was just what i thought would be perfect. A portable table saw for moving apartments. It ran...

Laguna Fusion Tablesaw

Laguna Fusion Tablesaw

I was in need of new tablesaw as my old Delta contractors model was just wore out from the years of use over the past 60 years from my father and then myself. My shop space is roughly 500 sq. ft. but somewhat odd shaped. To fit the available space and maintain a safe work flow I was looking for as much saw as I could fit with the smallest footprint. I looked at new and used and all the brands. Read the reviews and finally selected the Luguna Fusion 10” Tablesaw with 1.75HP and 36”...

General International 50-200r

General International 50-200r

Purchased this saw after spending time debating which saw offering I was going to give my hard earned cash too. Looked at Grizzley, Saw Stop, Laguna, Steel City, Delta, Shop Fox,Craftsman and many others. I debated the safety aspects of all saws against the Saw Stop and came to the conclusion that for the amount of time I use my saw, and the fact that I am extremely anal about working safely, I ruled out Saw Stop because their price point in my opinion is way to high. Yes I hear it now, what ...

Background: I bought this mobile base for my new Grizzly 1023RLW Cabinet Table Saw, which has a 20.5”x20.5” base. I had to do some slight modifications to get it to fit perfectly, which now that the saw sits on the base, it does. Assembly: I put the base together before doing any mods because I wanted to see how many modifications I was going to have to do. I say that so the people reading this review don’t think the mods negatively affected the assembly of the base. ...

Delta 36-725 Contractor Tablesaw: Follow-Up Review

EDIT: THIS REVIEW WAS EDITED ONLY TO ADD A LINK TO ADDITIONS THAT WERE ADDED TO THE SAW. TABLESAW ADDITIONS: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/101376 I bought this saw over a month ago and wrote an initial review then. The review included many assembly tips as the owner’s manual had not been updated since the saw was first released to the market. While the review is for the Delta saw, it includes many assembly tips that may be of value to any owner of a new saw. Likewise, this review foll...

A beautiful piece of machinery

A beautiful piece of machinery

I’m new to posting on this site. When I first got into woodworking, about 2-3 years ago, a coworker loaned me a Shopsmith Mark V from the 1970s. It worked ok for what I was doing, but the tiny table, difficulty in doing bevel cuts, and the fact that the table would lean into the blade if enough weight was put on it led me to the decision to get a different saw for myself. Don’t get me wrong, the Shopsmith is a good product for what it is. It’s a great multi-use product. ...

Tool Review, Craftsman Contractor Saw 113.298763, Made 1996. I’ve had this saw since 2002, so I figure I’ve used it enough to write a fairly balanced and accurate review. I bought the saw from a good friend who was the first owner. I paid $225 for the saw, three Craftsman blades and some push sticks. He used it primarily to remodel his basement, and he did one heck of a job. I helped him quite a bit and learned a lot. This is my second table saw. My first was a direct drive Craftsman tha...
