Table Saw

Table Saw

This was one of my first purchases when I first started woodworking. I thought it would be all I needed. I was wrong. Don’t get me wrong. It does cut pretty true and functions really well, but you cannot find or use any accessories on the saw. I looked high and low for zero clearance throat inserts, but ended up making my own. I tried to find a featherboard that would fit, but no luck. On dado blades your limited to I think it is 1/2”. If you look in any woodworking retail...

Great saw. The Grizzly G0690

Great saw. The Grizzly G0690

This is a great saw. $1250.00 no shipping, no tax. 3hp, riving knife, left tilt, bessimeyer style fence, solid construction, three belt, 240v. In the pic, I used some weather stripping to seal the motor door, better dust extraction, also seal the lower pan in the cabinet. I ordered the Heavy Duty Shop Fox base by mistake. The base is too big for this saw, so I cut 2 1/4 from the long rails of the base with a recip saw and a metal cutting blade. The result is a much heftier base than the...

Sawstop Industrial Cabinet Saw

Sawstop Industrial Cabinet Saw

What can be said about this saw that hasn’t already been said by the likes of Charles Neil, Woodworking magazines in their shootouts and reviews, and even the Discovery Channel? Its safety technologies are without peer. We all know that any tool can be injurious if attention or focus is lost and that even the best guards won’t fully protect us. I’d like to approach this review from another angle: the saw as its own instrument. That said, we can begin with the shipping....

Great value in a contractor saw

Great value in a contractor saw

I’ve been using an early 1980s-era Craftsman 9-inch portable table saw with a steel table and stamped steel extension wings. After deciding that I needed something a little more precise than this older saw, I was looking to upgrade and was attracted to the Bosch 4100-09 partly because of the reviews, but mostly because of the blade guard/riving knife it features. I wasn’t really wanting another portable saw, however, and was looking for something beefier instead. I discovered this...

Craftsman 21802 (10 in. Table Saw with Stand)

Craftsman 21802 (10 in. Table Saw with Stand)

This being my first product review, I might miss some obvious things, but I’ll give it my best shot. At around $100, the Craftsman 21802 10 in. Table Saw is a good beginner’s saw. This is also my first table saw. I had no expectations other than when I was done I would be able to cut wood with it! The assembly was easy and I had it together in about 30 minutes or so. All the parts for the stands fit nice and everything lined up where it was supposed to. After assembly I set ...

Delta 36-714 10-Inch left Tilt Hybrid Saw

Delta 36-714 10-Inch left Tilt Hybrid Saw

This is a good bang for your buck, when I originally purchased the saw I got it for around $1200, it is a little more pricy today but none the less a good buy. It comes wired for 120 from the manufacturer but when I received it I got my electrician friend to ramp it up to 240, not much that I have in my shop can bog it down now. In my old High school we had a saw just like this one with the sole difference of it being connected to standard 120, I notice a big difference between them, if you h...

R4510 with PICS!

Hey Everyone - I’ve never posted here before, but I did a lot of research here before buying a replacement for my beloved cast iron Ridgid table saw. It had served me well through a major renovation, but now that the project is complete, I wanted something I could more easily tuck out of the way. I’d narrowed it down to the Ridgid 2410LS and the Bosch 4100, and was leaning toward the Bosch when I dropped in at my local Home Depot. The Ridgid rep happened to be there on a Sat...

Grizzly G1023SL TS Overall First Impression

I received my new TS this past Thursday. The freight guy was kind enough to go ahead and put it in my garage for me :) That was excellent I thought and was not expecting that at all. This review will just be a first impression on how it was shipped and how easy/difficult it was to assemble the machine. 01. SHIPPING – 5/5 The shipping was great. No holes or damage at all on any of the boxes. It came with two boxes. One for the fence and other for machine. The cabinet came o...
