There are a lot of Sawstop reviews both here on LJ’s and on Youtube and other places. Everyone says that it is a quality item and has the infamous safety feature. I’ve only had my new Saw for a couple of weeks and made a few dozen cuts with it and you already know about the saw in general having seen the hotdog videos I’m sure, but there’s more to point out. Some companies have a different philosophy. What comes to mind are companies like Tesla. Get the best enginee...

I will try and keep this somewhat short and as sweet as I can. the TL;DR will be at the bottom in the form of pro’s and cons. My background: I am a 25 year old chemist by day and recently a woodworker by night, I grew up doing stage-craft so I and wood have a long, on again off again, relationship (the off again parts due mostly do uncertain living conditions and lack of funds). The Search: I started looking at the ridgid r4512 as a starting point, so as any self respecting millen...

Just thought I’d share my Delta 36 725. New on site but the reviews on here are the reason I went with it. It was down to it and Rigid saw. Kept looking on CL with no luck either cheap saws or out of my budget. I read all the horror stories on both saws. Found this site and several good reviews and all tips on set up so I purchased it. Set up wasnt bad thanks to tips on here. Only real problem I have is finally got riving knife acceptable and just gave up. I need the saw to be mobil but...

Off to a rocky start S&H

First of all, I love this machine. It’s been great, had it since Christmas. But it didn’t start off that way. I’ve had a few problems right from the start. As you can see from the first picture it’s a beautiful saw, just doesn’t have the Fence installed. Thats because it was shipped with the fence for a G0771. Worked with Grizzly support and let them know of the shipping mishap and they took care of it without a problem. I also found a few other problems; ...

I’ve owned the Delta Unisaw (36-L336) 36” 3hp for a couple months now and have enough time with it to give it a review. I will break this review down into my pros and cons. Pros: Saw makes exceptional cuts. The 3hp motor is very powerful, I cant see much need for more power. The power button is placed in the perfect position, its very easy to turn off with your hip. Assembly is fairly straightforward. The mobile stand is very robust and is actually a very good price for what yo...

SawStop customer service fail

SawStop customer service fail

02-23-2017 04:24 PM by leftcoaster | 60 comments »

I bought a sawstop PCS 3hp last week. Today I received a flyer saying that they’re giving away the over arm dust collection or mobile base for purchases after march 1. I called sawstop to see if they would exhibit some flexibility on the promotion since it’s an expensive item and a difference of only two weeks. I just finished setting it up and haven’t made a single cut yet. ???? For a company tha touts its customer support awesomeness, this seems like a silly place...

Right out of the box and pretty impressive machine: PROS:T-squre fenceExcellent directions on set upPretty Good dust collection.Overall a solid machineOBVIOUSLY THE SAFETY FEATURE (which can be turned off.) CONS:Needs really aggressive dust collection or the interior gets messyLittle plastic on switch is too easy to lose.My 1.75 hp is a bit underpowered for me.Won’t allow you to use a molding head but I never do anyway. The support legs for the table extension need more lateral sup...

Grizzly G0771Z Hybrid Saw

Grizzly G0771Z Hybrid Saw

Well, I’ve had the saw for going on a month but have not been able to use it. The saw arrived safely and the driver kindly brought it into my garage…had to tip him(great attitude). The assembly went smoothly, nothing too difficult. I had to shim one of the wings; everything was in my acceptable tolerance. The fit and finish was ok in most areas. The wings were grinded differently than the main tabletop which looked a bit cheap but I figured I can live with that. Everythin...

Laguna fusion table saw

Laguna fusion table saw

I’ve had this saw about a month now. It’s a major step up for me being out of woodworking for 20 plus years. Having just built my shop, this is my first major tool purchase second to a dust collector. I’m basically starting all over again.I did a lot of research, read a lot of reviews etc as others have done. I chose this saw for several reasons. 1. Great reviews on multiple websites.2. Appears to be good enough for an almost retired hobbiest. 3. Dust collection port on the ...
