Just installed this fence on my saw a 26 year old delta contractors saw.The original fence was never truly square to the blade, what a differance with this new fence. I feel like I bought a new saw.Install was a breeze no drilling required had it installed in about 20 minutes and 10 more minutes to adjust fence to the blade. This fence locks up square every time I would recommendd this fence to anyone without reservation. The only thing I miss is the micro adjustment that was on the old fence.

The perfect solution for my Powermatic 66

The perfect solution for my Powermatic 66

With my shop overhead dust collection completed, I knew the next thing to tackle was overhead dust collection for my Powermatic 66. The existing PM66 splitter was a pain, like any original splitter. I also needed a blade guard that I could see through. And finally, needed dust collection to end the spray of debris back toward my face during cuts. I have my PM66 face to face with my Unisaw (which also has my BenchDog cast iron router table fitted), so any Excalibur or Unisaw boom arm would...

Not nearly as good as it could be

Not nearly as good as it could be

I recently purchased a SawStop 3hp PCS with the overarm dust collection. I replaced a Jet hybrid saw where I had upgraded the stock blade guard to a Shark guard and had been very happy with the results. I was hopeful the SawStop overarm dust collection would be as well designed, and operate as well as the rest of the saw. Unfortunately, it doesn’t. The SawStop overarm dust collection has a small hose that connects to it, and that narrows to nearly nothing as it goes into the blade...

Micro Jig Zero Play miter bar

Micro Jig Zero Play miter bar

I put together a small cut off sled using one of these guide barsIt worked out well and I won’t have to deal with the seasonal swelling of wood runners. It was also easier than using the white plastic UMW (sp?) and having to fit it.2 points:I made the bar fit tighter in the slot than the directions recommend because there was still play in the board until I made the fit tighterI used 3/4” plywood and had to counter bore a 1/2 ” hole 7/16 deep so the short screws would projec...

Paste Wax (Car Wax)

Paste Wax (Car Wax)

I thought about blogging this, but didn’t know if that was the right spot to put it. Here’s my shameless plug for using paste wax/car wax for woodworking! I am not particular to one brand over another. They all work quite well. The main thing that makes them good is the carnauba wax. This is a really tough wax that stays in place for a long(er) amount of time. I use car wax on my steel surfaces, such as my tablesaw, jointer, bandsaw, etc. This protects them from rust, and...

Fantastic little tool

Many years ago I already wrote a review of the Micro Jig Splitter Steel Pro.Last weekend I had to change the Zero Clarence insert on my Delta Unisaw and so I also had to re-install the Micro Jig splitter.I just want to write: what a fantastic little tool this is !!!!I have been using mine for many years and it works perfectly every-time.A simple and in-expensive tool that does what it it supposed to do perfectly and every time.

Having too many beers, Amazon Prime and one touch ordering on my Amazon account resulted in my delivery of the DELTA 34-184 Universal-Deluxe Tenoning Jig this Sunday morning. So onto the rant….umm? I mean review. Unboxing and light assembly, this jig seemed pretty decent, until I put it on my saw. Holy shit did it wobble! The bottom plate is a 3/8 cast iron plate with weight reduction recesses underneath it. And the surface is not machined at all, but instead finished with a heavy on...
