Micro Jig MJ Splitter Steel PRO System w/Double Splitters

07-28-2012 03:28 PM by b2rtch | 25 comments »

This is not full review but a first impression. Being disappointed by another product that I bought to use for a riving knife , I have been looking around for another product which would give the protection/safety that I desire when using my Unisaw.Last week I found the Micro Jig MJ Splitter Steel PRO System w/Double Splitters and after watching the videos on YouTube I ordered one on Amazon for $25.00. I received it yesterday and I installed it this morning. On the videos the installation ...

TS-Aligner: Decent Product as long as you do not have to deal with Ed.

For those who are not familiar with the product, here is a link: TS-Aligner So here goes my review and final conclusion on Ed Bennett’s TS-Aligner. The product itself works fairly well but I cannot speak for the integrity of Ed as a business person. I have been trying to contact Ed for the past 2 months to confirm that he received my TS-Aligner as I had sent it back to him for re-calibration. I had exchanged emails with Ed and he had given me permission to send him the TS-Aligner ...

Magic Molder—A Safe and Professional Molder Head System

Magic Molder—A Safe and Professional Molder Head System

09-15-2014 03:46 AM by HillbillyShooter | 23 comments »

The Magic Molder System consists of a molder head and cutter plugs. Although not inexpensive, Magic Molder constitutes a truly safe and professional system for using your table saw (or radial arm saw if so inclined) as a shaper for cutting molding profiles. There are three primary features that make this system head and shoulders above the previous molder head I acquired 30 plus years ago—one I’ll humorously describe as a “cubby, Ninja star.” First, the Magic Molder is the safest des...

Totally Worth It

Totally Worth It

06-02-2011 07:17 PM by Vrtigo1 | 23 comments »

A little background to give this review some context. I am a beginning WW, been doing it about 18 months now. I am at the point where I am able to appreciate good tools and justify spending money on them. With that being said, blades have never been a high priority for me. I have been using cheap blades from home depot up to now because I didn’t think a hundred dollar blade would make a huge difference in the quality of my work. Well, I found out that I could use my Amex reward p...

Great product at a great price

Great product at a great price

07-06-2014 02:46 AM by TheFridge | 23 comments »

Hello there, I found this guy on ebay for 150$ with free shipping so I decided to get me one. I’ve heard a lot about the quality of incra products and this one is every thing I wanted and more. It took about 30 min to assemble and set up for use. I had a smidgeon of doubt about the extruded aluminum rail, but this miter gauge has so me heft to it. I don’t know you could possibly improve the positive indexing stops with vernier scale. Especially at this price. The glide lock mit...

Incra miter gauge very good, but it takes a bit of work

Incra miter gauge very good, but it takes a bit of work

So I finally took the plunge and ditched my miter gauge that came with my old Unisaw. I never really used it, it just sat there if needed. Well, I knew from experience that it was crap so it has gone away. Bought the 1000HD a while back and have been using it for a few weeks and man am I impressed. This is what Made in USA is all about. I’ve been loving everything about it, but it took a bit of work. I picked it up at Rockler on sale for $119. First off, the thing is packaged ver...

Watch out Diablo - Irwin does it again, this time with 24 teeth

Watch out Diablo - Irwin does it again, this time with 24 teeth

I’ve been sitting on these blades for a while as I have been quite busy. Brand new in the package I have a 24 tooth Diablo rip blade, and a 24 tooth Irwin Marples rip blade. I did a comparison of the diablo/Marples 50 tooth blades, but the Diablo I had was used a few times. This time for comparisons sake, both are brand spankin new. Note: this review is for the Irwin Marples blade that that will be the focus. The Freud Diablo was used for comparison. All cuts were performed on a perf...

This is my first review on Lumberjocks, and my first Incra product purchased Price and PackagingI ordered the Incra I-Box through www.elitetools.ca here in Canada. I paid 149.00 Canadian with free shipping. It arrived in a narrow cardboard box. It was well packed without the dreaded hard plastic packaging that usually requires bandages. Reason for PurchaseI’m presently building my first workbench, ‘The No-So-Big Workbench’ by Ed Pirnik of Fine Woodworking. The plans ca...

Love it!

I have never reviewed any tool before, but I like this one so much that I needed to say something.I, like most LJ’s, build my own jigs and push sticks, but I need to cut a lot of small pieces for trim, inlay etc.I have already cut myself on the tablesaw once and that was plenty for the rest of my life!!!! So I bought the basic Grr-ripper with the additional 1/8” leg, set it up and started cutting slightly under 1/8’pieces and my hands were NO WHERE NEAR the blade. What a ...
