Solid fence at a good price

Solid fence at a good price

It has been a few years since this fence was reviewed on Lumberjocks, so I decided to throw in my two cents worth. I own a Craftsman 113 series contractor table saw I purchased new in 1989. It has been a reliable tool, for me, but has always left a bit to be desired. The single greatest issue has been the fence. Every rip cut has required multiple measurements from both the front and back of the blade to ensure parallel alignment. While a minute or two might not be a great sacrifice, over the...

An Aftermarket Retrofit Riving Knife Does Exist...

An Aftermarket Retrofit Riving Knife Does Exist...

The Bolt On Ripping Knife (BORK) from Bob Ross of Walnutacre Woodworking is a retrofit riving knife that fits several traditional saws that were not originally designed for a riving knife. The BORK attaches to the arbor swing arm, and rises, lowers, and tilts in unison with the blade much like a true stock riving knife does. I’ve had a BORK on my Shop Fox W1677 since August of 2008, and have been very happy with it. It’s available in full kerf or thin kerf thicknesses, and will ...

A Great Dado set..regardless of the price!

A Great Dado set..regardless of the price!

I know this dado set has been reviewed a few times but I just wanted to put up my two cents about this set. I got it for a great price from Rockler..I paid about $70 bucks with shipping. The box it comes in is nothing to write home about…in almost every review I have read on this set, the reviewer comments on the crappy box, but then I care more about whats in the box..I can make a damn box…OK I’m getting side tracked…here is what it looks like.. So I went out a...

Micro Jig MJ Splitter Steel PRO System w/Double Splitters

Micro Jig MJ Splitter Steel PRO System w/Double Splitters

This is not full review but a first impression. Being disappointed by another product that I bought to use for a riving knife , I have been looking around for another product which would give the protection/safety that I desire when using my Unisaw.Last week I found the Micro Jig MJ Splitter Steel PRO System w/Double Splitters and after watching the videos on YouTube I ordered one on Amazon for $25.00. I received it yesterday and I installed it this morning. On the videos the installation ...

TS-Aligner: Decent Product as long as you do not have to deal with Ed.

TS-Aligner: Decent Product as long as you do not have to deal with Ed.

For those who are not familiar with the product, here is a link: TS-Aligner So here goes my review and final conclusion on Ed Bennett’s TS-Aligner. The product itself works fairly well but I cannot speak for the integrity of Ed as a business person. I have been trying to contact Ed for the past 2 months to confirm that he received my TS-Aligner as I had sent it back to him for re-calibration. I had exchanged emails with Ed and he had given me permission to send him the TS-Aligner ...

Grizzly H7583 Tenoning Jig

Grizzly H7583 Tenoning Jig

04-30-2015 12:24 AM by Jagerheister | 25 comments »

A few day ago I purchased a Grizzly tenoning jig for an upcoming project on Amazon for $78.00 USD. I did quite a bit of research prior to pulling the trigger on the purchase, and I didn’t find many sources of video demonstrations or specific product info other than specifications and written instructions. I decided to do a video just to propagate and proliferate information on this product. I’ve provided a link below to a video review that I did of the unboxing, and assembly....

Love it!

Love it!

I have never reviewed any tool before, but I like this one so much that I needed to say something.I, like most LJ’s, build my own jigs and push sticks, but I need to cut a lot of small pieces for trim, inlay etc.I have already cut myself on the tablesaw once and that was plenty for the rest of my life!!!! So I bought the basic Grr-ripper with the additional 1/8” leg, set it up and started cutting slightly under 1/8’pieces and my hands were NO WHERE NEAR the blade. What a ...

Magic Molder—A Safe and Professional Molder Head System

Magic Molder—A Safe and Professional Molder Head System

09-15-2014 03:46 AM by HillbillyShooter | 23 comments »

The Magic Molder System consists of a molder head and cutter plugs. Although not inexpensive, Magic Molder constitutes a truly safe and professional system for using your table saw (or radial arm saw if so inclined) as a shaper for cutting molding profiles. There are three primary features that make this system head and shoulders above the previous molder head I acquired 30 plus years ago—one I’ll humorously describe as a “cubby, Ninja star.” First, the Magic Molder is the safest des...

Totally Worth It

Totally Worth It

A little background to give this review some context. I am a beginning WW, been doing it about 18 months now. I am at the point where I am able to appreciate good tools and justify spending money on them. With that being said, blades have never been a high priority for me. I have been using cheap blades from home depot up to now because I didn’t think a hundred dollar blade would make a huge difference in the quality of my work. Well, I found out that I could use my Amex reward p...

Great product at a great price

Great product at a great price

07-06-2014 02:46 AM by TheFridge | 23 comments »

Hello there, I found this guy on ebay for 150$ with free shipping so I decided to get me one. I’ve heard a lot about the quality of incra products and this one is every thing I wanted and more. It took about 30 min to assemble and set up for use. I had a smidgeon of doubt about the extruded aluminum rail, but this miter gauge has so me heft to it. I don’t know you could possibly improve the positive indexing stops with vernier scale. Especially at this price. The glide lock mit...
