I recently acquired my first cabinet saw – a ~10 year old 3hp industrial SawStop. Its a heavy beast, somewhere north of 500lbs. I need to be able to move it around occasionally, so I’ve been on the hunt for a mobile base for it. I bought this to put under my Powermatic edge sander. Here are my observations regarding its assembly and use: PRO’s: 1) The edge sander I used this under is now VERY easy to move. Much more so than when I had a home made, wood base (with good casters), which raised the unit up several inches. 2) The base design raises the tool only enough to allow the wheels to roll freely, so it doesn’t raise the center of gravity a great deal. 3) The locking mechanism i...
