PREVAL Portable Disposable Sprayer

PREVAL Portable Disposable Sprayer

These sprayers are great. And inexpensive. The $6 spray gun comes with a glass jar and the power unit. They can spray paints including latex, auto paints, lacquers, acrylics, primers, etc. One power unit ($4 for extras) will easily spray 16 oz. of material… quite a bit for small and medium sized projects. The glass jar cleans easily for re-use. I’ve been using one of mine for lacquer and find the atomization just fine for dry or wet coats. I even thinned some brush on lac...

Wood River HVLP Gravity Feed Spray Gun

Wood River HVLP Gravity Feed Spray Gun

This is a great gun. If you have never tried a gravity feed HVLP you are in for a treat. You might actually enjoy finishing your projects! Exact same gun as the Porter Cable PSH1, except no air regulator. Just use the regulator on your compressor. Beautiful finish with shellac or lacquer. I even spray stain with it on large jobs. This was $25 on sale, but I think regular price is only $35. It comes with a 1.4 mm tip which is good for lacquer and shellac. They sell an inexpensive 2 mm...

Graco makes Great Spray Units

Graco makes Great Spray Units

While this may not exactly be a tool Lumber Jocks might use on a daily basis, I thought it deserved a glowing review. The Graco Sprayer is a great unit to spray paint or stains. Here I erected my “lean-too” and hung our new interior doors to paint. In the past when painting doors, I would lay them down across saw horses. However (and maybe it’s just me) I always get a mark on the door from where they laid on the horses. I’d let them dry for a day before turning and still get marks....

Earlex Spray Station 5500 Review

Earlex Spray Station 5500 Review

If you are looking into getting started in the world of HVLP this is where you want to begin. At a fairly low entry price compared to other HVLP units this unit is a performer too. I ordered the unit from Highland WoodWorking and they shipped me out to it in about 3 business days. The total package cost $325 dollars including sipping. The sprayer comes with a 2.0mm needle and tip and I would recommend buying the additonal 1.5 mm needle and tip. The Earlex 5500 comes with the base, air h...

LINK: http://www.woodcraft.com/Catalog/ProductPage2.aspx?id=2083184&ProdId=33566& Buy it. If you don’t have a spray gun but have been thinking about it, buy it. If you want to spray, but the cost is too high on those fancy/expensive systems, buy it. If every project needs to have a perfect, auto paint gloss finish, no matter how long it takes, then this is not the product for you. I have had mine for over a year now and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. Sure, ...

GREAT sprayer

So i bought the q4 in july 2012. I have used it a couple dozen times on everything from full kitchens to tiny wine balancers. I want to start by saying this is a great unit. I love the xpc gun. I dont have a crazy amount of experience spraying finishes but i have done my fair share over the years. I have used several different types and this is by far the best i have ever used. If your looking for a “high quality” hvlp system this is the one. I have used the Apollos and th...

Great spray system

Great spray system

09-08-2008 05:01 AM by Toolman61 | 18 comments »

I purchased an Earlex 5000 when Woodcraft had them on sale. I have been frustrated with the newer fast drying brush type varnishes and enamels, so I broke down and bought a spray system. Best money I have spent in a long time. The first spray job was with Ben Moore semi gloss Aura which is a high end latex paint. I had to use bm 518 extender at the rate of 10 to 12 ounces per quart of paint, but the look is like glass. I sprayed 2 textured interior doors and the base and casing in a new ...

DeVilbiss MGQ-500

Air Gun: DeVilbiss Part of a good finish into the wood or the application of automotive paint, much depends on the gun used, among other factors.Speaking of brands, DeVilbiss, is for me the best brand of air guns in Mexico. But talk of quality is also talk about cost, and the products of this brand is expensive in comparison with the other brands mentioned. DeVilbiss MGQ-500 Currently this model is the most sold in Mexico, it can get at Homedepot or a Wal-Mart. For continuous esca...

Video> Finally I am getting to do some spray painting I spent hours watching videos and worrying about lord knows what… So armed with 3 spray guns my mask on my face and dressed up like a bio-tech sci-fi movie character I was ready to lay my first covering and I have to say I was as nervous as a school girl (What ever that means) The first gun I tried was the touch up gun with the 1.0 mm tip right out of the box which is really to small for the paint which was latex and required a 1.5mm ti...
