My First New Tool For New Shop - What is it?

I bought a solid oak cabinet at the prison industries auction 2 years ago. I brought it home and hung it in the garage. I am starting to clean out the garage where my new shop is going to go. I was taking the screws out of a brace on the bottom of the cabinet. While holding on to a 2 X 4 fastened on the side of the cabinet, it felt like it moved. I got to looking and this is what I found. It is a Prison Shank!!!!! You figure out what it could layout.

Several months ago i needed to replace some incandescent light bulbs that were burned out. So while waiting for a prescription at the local drug store I was checking out the houseware departent & bumped into the new Compact Florescent Light Bulbs. Ok, I know this isn’t about a tool or gadget but most of us wear pants when we work in the shop. Although a couple of LJs I’m not sure of. We hear a lot about the US manufacturing going over seas. I bought this Bench on sale for 159 dollars. plus tax for a total of 175.( I know TN sales tax is high). The Bench was easily put together in about 2 hours. I have to say for the money I dont think you could buy the wood to make your own workbench. I needed a workbench instead of using a door setting on top of 2 old speakers as a work table. Rockler's Tape Keeps Things Stuck!

I don’t know about anyone else, but I find new uses for double-sided tape nearly every time I am in the shop. I have been using Rockler’s Turner’s Two-Way Tape for a couple of months now and have been very impressed. It sticks tenaciously and I haven’t had any two parts I have joined slip when template routing or aligning for installation. Heavy Duty wheel casters

Like many, I make mobile base’s for all of my shop equipment. I have used plastic, rubber metal etc. And while they serve their purpose, they have many short falls. The plastic and metal ones hang up on every chip of wood and piece of trash on your floor, and have terrible locking systems. I had debated for a long time to find the best solution to heat my garage shop at home. Forced air is no good since the filters will be clogged with dust all of the time, and a heater that burns the shop air has too many drawbacks including humidity control, possible fires, and consumption of oxygen in the room.
