Big Foot Scroll Saw Lift Arm

Big Foot Scroll Saw Lift Arm

I received my Big Foot scroll saw lift arm today and installed it in under three minutes. You will need a Torx T-35 tool to get the existing bolts out. Also be sure to watch the installation video to get the parts in the right order. With as much scrolling as I do this will be a very useful add-on to save time and frustration when changing blades or putting the blade through a hole in the center of a large piece of work. Very easy to use; just lift the scroll saw arm and it will lock in pl...

Video Review of my Excalibur Ex-21

Video Review of my Excalibur Ex-21

Hey Lumberjocks, After using a $10.00 scroll saw that I bought off of Craigslist for a couple years, I decided it was time to break out the bucks and upgraded to an Ex-21 saw. That was a year ago, now that I have the technology to make boring videos I figured I should do a review of it since that seems to be the thing to do when you make videos. So here is my less than spectacular video review of my EX-21. And just in case your wondering, just try and take my EX from me, I dare ya!!lol

Scheppach Deco-Flex - a decent starter scrollsaw for an OK price

Scheppach Deco-Flex - a decent starter scrollsaw for an OK price

+ nice working capabilities+ normal operating noise+ large “throat” depth+ takes both pin and pinless blades+ the addons and the rotary tool is a perfect addition to a beginner scrollsawer. So you do not need to buy a dremel or any similar rotary tool - bit painful process to change the blades. You have to rotate 3 screws, 2 on top, 1 at the bottom of the saw.- you seriously need to bold it down, otherwise it moves- attached rotating bit are a bit too “toyish”, but does some light sanding/...

serious reassesment

serious reassesment

Whem I first purchased this saw I was happy with it. It was a dramatic improvement over what I had been using. Now after using it for several weeks I must, unfortunately, change my view. I have been using this saw rather extensively and what I am finding, after completly disassembleing it is that it is almost completly worn out. the blade holders (made of plastic) no longer hold the blades properly and the tension arrangement loosens up while you are cutting. I understand that it is an entry ...

Craftsman 11' magnetic scroll saw

Craftsman 11' magnetic scroll saw

This saw is a 1952 Craftsman magnetic scroll saw. It does not have a motor. It is an electromagnet that pulls and releases a spring steel plate that has the blade hook attached. It Has an upper spring steel arm holding the upper blade hook. It uses 5” pin end blades. The capacity is limited to about 1/2 inch or less. The saw has been modified and is now a 20”. It started life as an 11 inch saw. The modification was made when the saw was probably already 15+ years old. I c...

good saw great price

Less than a month ago I started into scrolling with an ancient Delta saw I got at a yard sale for $5.00. It only took me about a day to discover 2 things. first I was facinated with scrolling and second I would need a better saw if I was to really do any serious work. So I started researching saws. I found this King Canada saw at a local tool store for $120.00 CAD. I have never been happier. It doesn’t have all the features that a much more expensive saw would have and I had to do a lit...

Harbor Freight Scroll Saw

Harbor Freight Scroll Saw

It was suggested that I review this product so I figure what the heck, the least I can do is try to add to the community. I have had the saw for about 2 weeks now. Overall, I think it is a great saw. I have cut plywood and pine with it. I haven’t had the chance to run any hardwood through it yet. It doesn’t cut fast but it is a scroll saw so it isn’t expected to. One thing I have to give it credit for, it isn’t very heavy but it doesn’t jump around my tab...

Nearly everything you could ask for in a scroll saw

Nearly everything you could ask for in a scroll saw

I have a shop full of tools; bandsaw, planer, joiner, table saw, drill press, and scroll saw. One of the things I’ve loved doing over the past eight years or so is making things on the scroll saw. After initially buying a Craftsman scroll saw and putting it to use, I saw a need for a better saw. I found a great deal on a used PS Wood 21-in scroll saw that I used for the past seven years. However, recently I was making some gifts that required me to do some very delicate fret-type work. ...

Craftsman 16 inch Scroll Saw Review

Craftsman 16 inch Scroll Saw Review

For my birthday recently my wife purchased me a scroll saw. (That’s right fella’s she’s all mine) Having never owned a scroll saw, and quickly realizing that I’m a novice to this tool; I’ll do my best to give an honest review of this tool. But… Before I can start I have to give a little insight to my scroll saw bias’. I’ve been doing the “woodworking thing”, for a few years now and I’ve always thought I had all of the tools that I needed. I also have always had two opinions when it c...
