I rarely use a scroll saw. If I have to do some scroll work I either do it by hand or use a bandsaw for outside work. Recently I had to do lots of inside scrolling. I’ve got an old craftsman scroll saw that I less than affectionally call ‘Thumper’ for obvious reasons. But, it cut and was good for work that wasn’t too intricate.I’m making a desk for my niece and the side panels between the styles are the medical symbol for an RN as she’s soon to be graduatin...
DeWalt - One Great 20" Scroll Saw

This is the only scroll saw I have ever had so I nothing to compare it to. When researching and looking over many others I don’t think I could have done any better in my choice. This is the only scroll saw that DeWalt makes and with one this good it’s all they need With a throat depth of 20”, it beats out most others on just that. It is heavy at 56 pounds! Very well built. The table tilts 45 degrees both left and right. Tension, power switch and variable speed control ar...
Dremel Scroll Saw: Sweet!

(photo from www.dremel.com) When I decided to try my hand at working with wood, I thought that I would like to do some scroll work and so I did a little research and decided that I preferred the Dremel. About the time that I had made my decision, the tool came on sale and I jumped at the opportunity and it came home with me. The Features Sander :The station comes with the scroll saw and a sanding station on the side, which is really convenient, not only when I’m doing scroll sa...

My dad gave me this. I’ve used it once or twice. For me it was very easy to break blades but it was because I kept wanting to push it like a jigsaw. I think if you practiced with it it would be a useful tool.
Best scroll saw I have owned

I have worn out a delta and a Dewalt scroll saw in the past ten years and recently aquired this saw. It is the same parallel link design as the dewalt, the only real difference being more of the parts on the dewalt are stamped where on the excalibur they are machined. The table is aluminum and will not rust. This saw runs smooth. I highly recomend this to anyone unless they have a problem with purple tools.

For Mother’s Day last year my husband asked what I wanted. I said a scroll saw. I didn’t know what I was going to do with it, but I didn’t have one and I wanted one. Since that is about the same logic that keeps my husband buying chain saws I knew my reasoning would work. (I think the chain saw count is up to 6, just yesterday he came home saying “but I don’t have this one, and it has a turbo, none of mine have a turbo)Not knowing exactly what I would do with the...

The other day I went to use my trusty Wilton Scroll Saw, went to turn it on and nothing…After checking the usual. Yes it was plugged iin. My nose told me something was wrong. There was that smell we all know, the smell of a burnt controller board. And yes it was toast. So off to Menards to get a replacement one. When what do I see but this Masterforce 18” Scroll Saw. So after poking and prodding it I load up my cart and off to home I go. The saw seams built very rugged it’s ...

This scroll saw is a very nice saw for $100 and is worth the money. The first thing you have to do is tape up the led light and remove the guard because you cant do interior cuts and it gets in the way. The saw also has a blower and a vaccum port help collect the dust it uses a tool to change the blade which is a pain in the ass but other than that it is a nice saw with a lot of features that would see on a more expensive saw. It doesnt have a foot switch but has a varible speed and the light...

This is a New addition to Craftsman Scroll Saw Series. The first one that I had, I’ve only used it twice, and if it wasn’t for the Replacement Warranty that I purchased just in case, I wouldn’t have this replacement now. So far, this Version of their Scroll Saw has Held up very well. There are only a few complaints with it thou. 1. The table is a Little Small2. The Table Tilt only tilts up to 45 Degree to the left Only, Not both left and right3. It does not hav...
Nice scroll saw that has some useful features

I do not use this saw much, but I got it on clearance at Home Depot some time ago, and do manage to make the purchase worth the cost from time to time. Yep, it no longer is available there as a new item, but Sears still has the same unit available in its stores (in a different color, of course), and used items might be on hand here and there. Other than more vibration than I like, this saw works OK. I found that by mounting the thing to a heavy bench (which itself is bolted to the shop wa...
