Glue Line Rip !

Glue Line Rip !

When Freud claims that this blade will give you flawless rips and glue joints, they are not boasting.I purchased this blade few months back but never got around using it until this week when I got tired cleaning the mess my jointer was making.Long story short, this put my jointer to shame. The cut is so smooth; you may have to scuff it up a bit before gluing.Well, I’m not the least bit surprised, Freud makes some of the longest lasting and sharpest router bits and saw blades around. it&...

Excellent budget blade!

Excellent budget blade!

55 days ago by Mike Gager | 23 comments »

I just recently bought this blade after reading some of the reviews on the home depot website. I am very satisfied with it and think its an excellent choice for someone on a budget wanting a nice cutting blade. I havent used any of the high end blades such as the forrest woodworker2 but i would be mighty surprised if they cut that much better then this blade does. I tried it on red oak, pine, douglas fir, MDF, and particle board melamine and it left a super smooth cut in all of them with no t...

Worth Every Penny

Worth Every Penny

57 days ago by Ben | 11 comments »

I am admittedly a cheapskate and almost never buy tools at retail price. I usually spend hours shopping online and reading reviews before making a purchase. However, I don’t mind paying more money upfront to save money down the road. When I first started my hunt for a good sawblade I suffered from a mild case of sticker shock when I read about Forrest blades. That being said, this blade is worth the money; even at retail price. PurchaseI ordered two of these from an online reta...

The DW7670 expands to a maximum cutting width of 29/32”, and has a nearly infinite number of possible smaller widths by using the various shim and chipper sizes. All the teeth are C-4 micrograin carbide, and the bore diameter will fit 5/8” arbors...

Forrest WoodworkerII 10" 40 T Thin Kerf Saw Blade

Forrest WoodworkerII 10" 40 T Thin Kerf Saw Blade

520 days ago by Brad_Nailor | 10 comments »

This being my first Forrest blade I wanted to see if they lived up to the hype. I did some research and decided I wanted to go with a thin kerf basically because I was going to be cutting allot of hard maple and my Bosch table saw isn’t the most powerful, and I wanted to try and save material. I decided on this blade and the Forrest website recommended a stiffener. I shopped around and found a great deal on Forrestsawbladesonline.com I got the 10”, 5/8” arbor blade and the 5...

Box Joints Made Easy on Your Table Saw...

Box Joints Made Easy on Your Table Saw...

639 days ago by cajunpen | 11 comments »

I love box joints, they are easy to construct, look great and when cut and assembled correctly are as strong a joint as any you can cut. The Freud 8” Box Joint Cutters do one thing and one thing only – they cut perfectly flat box joints on your table saw. You have two size joints that you can cut, either 3/8” or 1/4”. The slot width is determined by the way that you arrange the blades. It all begins with a shop made jig, which attaches to your Miter Gauge. Basic...

Porter-Cable Razor - 10" TS Blade

Porter-Cable Razor - 10" TS Blade

663 days ago by Jeff | 13 comments »

NOTE: the model number for the TS blade is 100VT50 Just as stated in the review for the circular saw blade, this is a great blade. I went to my local supplier for a thin-kerf Woodworker II but they were out. The guy I usually talk to told me I should give it a try. He makes picture frames for his father (an artist) on the side and swears by the miters you can get with it. He gave me a personal guarantee that if I didn’t like it after 30 days. He would take it back. No questions asked...

A Solid General Purpose Workhorse At An Affordable Price

A Solid General Purpose Workhorse At An Affordable Price

5 days ago by knotscott | 6 comments »

This is a very good blade at a fair price (~ $42). Freud’s Industrial series (denoted by an “L” in the prefix) offers a step up from their entry level Diablo and former TK/Avanti series. The larger teeth are C4 micrograin carbide and are very sharp. They feature an alternating top bevel grind (ATB) and a fairly steep 15 degree hook angle that helps it rip reasonably well. The blade has anti-vibration slots and a Permashield coating. I bought the LU86 as a back up to my Fo...

Another Screaming Bargain of a Saw Blade

Another Screaming Bargain of a Saw Blade

23 days ago by knotscott | 12 comments »

This review is as much a deal alert as it is a testimonial. This deal has been on Ebay for several weeks now from Cripe Distribution, and I’m amazed people haven’t scarfed these up like free champagne. If you’re not familiar with it, the Delta 35-7657 was originally the DeWalt DW7657 40T ATB general purpose blade….the same blade that Wood Mag rated favorably against the Forrest WWII a few years back when it was considered a good bargain at $50. It appears to be the sa...

4 star blade for a 3 star price

4 star blade for a 3 star price

333 days ago by marcb | 1 comment »

I purchased this blade for a few dollars more than a standard cheapish Oldham. For this price it is an unbelievable value. The blade is quite and does both rips and crosscuts with very good results. I gave this blade 4 stars compairing it to other blades in other price ranges. I feel that this is fair because a $10 blade usually gives you 1 star worth of performance and the only recommendation is to upgrade to a more expensive blade. Compared to the Oldham blade this is a no brainer,...
