Problems with adjusting the height of the cutter
88 days ago by velocette | 5 comments »
I have the 3 1/4 HP Triton router and over time have been reading the reviews and note the main complaint is the under the table adjustment. In Australia where the Triton company started there is a large range of wood working accessories. The Triton router table provided easy access to the ratchet winder and the fine adjuster, there is also a dust collector bucket that has two inputs one for the table and one for the router and the bucket is attached via another hose to a vacuum cleaner. I...
Triton Router

I purchased the Triton 3 1/4 HP back in April of this year at the Houston Woodworking Show. I didn’t have a chance to use until just a few weeks ago. I loved the action while using the plunge and the soft start made it easy to handle and manuver. Having the variable speed made it easy when using the larger bits for raised panels. I currently have it mounted on my router table and while although I wish I had the hand crank to raise and lower the bit, I make do adjusting under the table. ...
I love my Router Boss!

I’m a perfectionist. I only have a few projects under my belt but each one has been seems to be a leap in quality from the last. I was wanting to do dovetails, lots of inlay and complex joinery. I wanted to do it all but it seemed like I was going to be making alot of router jigs, bandsaw jigs and table saw jigs. I didn’t want to spend all of my time making jigs though. I wanted to spend it making these projects I see in my head. In my head they’re perfect and I won...
Trend T4 Plunge Router

I bought one of these routers about 10 months ago. It’s the first and only plunge router that I own, and I couldn’t be more pleased with it. I guess the thing that I like the most is the size to power ratio. I think it’s listed at about 8 lbs and puts out just over 1 HP. It’s very well made and easy to operate, with it’s variable speed motor and smooth plunge mechanism. It has a plunge stop with 3 different settings. Comes with a very nice oversize guide, ...

i emailed freud customer service yesterday (saturday) about a problem with my router and to my surprise this morning they had responded with the information on parts and a tech support #. i really wasn’t expecting that over a weekend. great service i think the FT2000E has been table mounted since new, the last couple years, with no complaintsthe other day the router wouldn’t start. flipped the switch a couple times and it started. happened again a little later. loose wire, bad ...
PORTER-CABLE ROUTER BITS

HELLO , I’m not sure if this is posted in the correct place , so bear with me , Site Police . LOL…I ALSO POSTED IT IN THE forums section , but was unable to post any pix there. It’s too bad that there isn’t anywhere here specifically to post items that we find on sale to help out our jockbuddies. (that I know of ) I went to the W.Springfield MA Woodcraft store today for a bandsaw blade and was introduced to a very nice display of P-C router bits at clearance prices....
Excellent Performer for the Money

The M12VC is Hitachi’s basic fixed base 11 amp router, that includes variable speed, soft start, and electronic feedback to maintain a set RPM throughout the cut. It’s also available in a kit as the KM12VC that includes both the fixed and plunge bases. The sub-base accepts the standard size PC style bushing adaptors. I purchased the M12VC in hopes it would be more manageable than my heavier Bosch 1617 for dovetail work. Mine was a refurb purchased through Reconditioned Sale...
Bosch Colt Router

I have this same router and I have been very impressed by the power and overall performance of the router. Maybe yours was an isolated case, or maybe mine? Either way I am sorry you have had problems, I would definitely return it. One other thing that made this router pretty sweet was the mini router table I made for it which is awesome for router small pieces and small rabbets. wing79
Bosch Trim Router

I bought this little router at HD as my 25 year old, never failed me, Black and Decker trim router was sounding like it was about to puke. I didnt look at prices as I am somewhat a believer in “buy once” ...then “cry once” then never cry again so it wasnt the least expensive one there. I use my trim router a lot, mostly for routing in butt hinges then clean it up with a chisel, same for inlaid bowties and “trimming” veneer and plastics etc., On first, se...

Just got this in the mail. Haven’t had a chance to use it yet. I wanted to get this up before the Woodcraft sale went away. $99 with free shipping. This is my second router, my first is a Black and Decker plunge router. This router appears to be quality built. Smooth base adjustment with two different style adjustment knobs that can be switched. Both 1/4” and 1/2” collets. Adjustable speed from 10,000-23,000 RPM. Also comes with a nice case, which is a huge bonus to...
