My Bostitch nailer finally made me happy today

My Bostitch nailer finally made me happy today

I have owned a Bostitch pin nailer for three years now and it has been a miserable experience. But today it finally made me happy. How? Well I too a 15 pound sledge hammer to it and smashed it to smithereens. I do hereby swear to never ever purchase another Bostitch tool. A big name with poor designs, I am very disappointed in them.

Great little nailer

Great little nailer

This was a micro nailer that I bought in hopes of fastening trim on the very end of the piece without splitting and not just any trim but oak and it worked great. This 23 gauge nailer is very light weight and can shoot 1/2”- 1” headless pins so small that if you stain the piece you have to look very hard to even see the small spot of the head. The pins are sold in packets of 2600 form $7-$12. The only downfall that I have found with this gun is that it has no safety so one has to ...

Simple, cordless solution for quick nailing (heh heh heh)

Simple, cordless solution for quick nailing (heh heh heh)

NOTE: I know this isn’t a pneumatic nailer but there wasn’t an option for just nailers, nor was there an option for just cordless tools and I didn’t think it fell under “other” so … here we are. That said … for reasons completely unrelated to the product itself, this is the last Craftsman tool I’ll ever buy (I hate you, Sears; I hate you with every ounce of my soul and look forward to your eventual collapse) but man, is it a keeper. As alw...

Mind you, pnuematic nailers are honestly very simple tools as far as air tools go. The driver is simply a piston, with a simple connecting rod sort of arrangment. You would think that if a company is going to build a product that has a piston, a connecting rod, and motion, that there would be a wrist pin right? Well not in my first one. Now #2 is working great. It leaks a tiny bit of air, but that is my fault. I took the thing apart to inspect it and managed to tear one of the paper gaskets. ...

Great gun for the money

Great gun for the money

I purchased this stapler after being disappointed with the 1” gun that came in my PC combo kit. It is a full range narrow crown stapler: 18ga. 1 1/2”. It has a selector on the trigger for bump-action or sequential firing which is a nice feature, as opposed to swapping out triggers. The carry handle is flimsy, but aren’t they all. The gun has never jammed and is oil-free. Compared to a gun like the Senco SKSXP that I use at work, it’s a toy; but, for less than $100.00 (...

Nice kit to get started.

Nice kit to get started.

I bought this kit for about $300.00 at Home Depot about two years ago. The compressor itself is a basic pancake oil-free design; simple to maintain and easy to use. The nail guns are nice and heavy with a well balanced design. The tool bag is however barely big enough to hold all three guns, so you don’t have room to carry fasteners in the bag with them. The brad nailer is 18ga. 1 1/4”, the stapler is 18ga. 1” narrow crown, and the finish nailer is 16ga. 2 1/2”. The tw...

Great Pinner for the price!

Great Pinner for the price!

I purchased this Pinner for use on this Project: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/139721. The Pinner worked great right out of the box. I purchased from Amazon for $29.98 after reading all the good reviews (4.5 stars). I didn’t want to spend a lot of money and this fit the bill. Works flawless so far after over 100 pins. I also purchased Porter-Cable PN23Pp nail kit to qualify for free shipping. (the gun is pretty worthless without pins) As stated in the Amazon reviews, once the s...
