Senco quality

I heard a while back that Senco went through some kind of financial troubles, so I was leery to buy this gun. That said, I’ve been using Senco nailers and staplers at work for years and I have been consistently impressed with the quality of their guns as well as the user-friendly direction the guns have gone to in the last 5 years. I nabbed this one on sale for $200 bucks at CPO brand new. I wanted a framer for the same reason anyone in their right mind wants a framing nailer, to build ...

cordless brad nailer

Never owned a nailer before but I gotta say that this is a winner. It comes w/ a pack of nails in all sizes. I bought this particular one off of fleabay for $60 and $15 shipping. Having already bought a few of the 18v products, I did not need a battery. This would explain the somewhat low cost. The gun feels good in your hand, but has maybe a slight delay upon triggering(I adapted easily to that). After I bought the nailer I went to Amazon to read the reviews. There are some bad review...

Economical Brad Nailer

Bostich BT200k 18 Gauge Pneumatic Brad Nailer. The unit came with a case, instructions and warranty. The housing is magnesium and is very lite weight (listed at 6 lbs). It is also oil free, which I find to be a plus. There is an adjustable depth control and a sequential trip mechanism. Recommended air pressure is 70psi to 120 psi. It will shoot brads from 5/8” to 2”. This is a factory reconditioned item and comes with a 1 year warranty. Cost was $34.99 including shipping from ...

I saw this product posted on my friends Facebook page and noticed all the positive responses so I checked out the website. The video on the site was pretty good and showed how the hook can be used with all air nail guns. I noticed they were in some local stores on Cape Cod. After I could feel the thing and see that it was made well I grabbed one to try for myself to see if it was as easy as the the video made it look. I figured I could always return it. It turns out I really like itR...

Freeman 23 Gauge Pinner

Freeman 23 Gauge Pinner

09-18-2013 04:42 AM by MarkwithaK | 6 comments »

I’m not usually one to add tool reviews simply because just about everything I’ve either researched and/or bought has already been reviewed at least once….except for Freeman nail guns. I guess I didn’t actually NEED a 23 gauge nailer but I sure as hell WANTED one, I just couldn’t justify the typical $100+ price tags that the well known units were commanding. I found the Freeman for just a hair over $50 through Amazon and pulled the trigger (no pun intended). ...

It worked good three times.....just not in a row

I bought this back in December, and it worked great right out of the box. It has a nice fit and finish, and doesn’t feel like cheap plastic. I like the rubber handgrip. The mail tray feels a little light weight, but it functions smoothly, so no real issue there. I also bought Bostich 1 inch nails to go with it – I tried not to skimp too much. So I opened it up, put a few drops of oil in the inlet, and a couple in the oil slot on the front, and hooked it up to my comp...

Good Nailer so far! More good things to come!

Good Nailer so far! More good things to come!

I had a craftsman nailer/stapler combo that did a decent job but would smash the wood sometimes with the square headed 16GA nails. I have some new woodwork that wasn’t going to work well with those nails so I was looking for a new one. I found this one and the “DA” nails (rounded head rather than square head) and it looked like it would do the trick. I picked it up at the local Lowe’s for $189.99. I didn’t do much investigation because all the brands looked t...

I bought one of these and have been thoroughly disappointed with it. No matter what the air pressure or length of the pin it only sinks them to flush at best. And of course you can’t adjust the depth. If I sand one bit you get a nice shiny (until it rusts later) little 23 gauge nailhead looking at you. I also do not like the fact that it lacks a soft nose. So if you try and hold it a little tight to get the pin sunk as far as possible you get a dent in the wood that is a lot worse ...

I bought this gun to install 1500 board ft of crown. It’s light weight really helped when useing it over head. It came with two triggers one for “bump” fire and a standard trigger. Portercable has made this gun oilless, which I love. It also has a belt clip which is very handy. Overall this is an excellent gun to own.

Inexpensive but surprisingly good

Inexpensive but surprisingly good

Just purchased a Numax SP123 pinner from Amazon for Under $30. I had a project to apply some fine moulding which would be split by 18 guage brads and did a seach on pinners. Did not want to spend alot as I did not know if I would ever use it again and found this one and by looking it appeared to be good value. Anyway, got it along with some 3/4” pins and it really works great so far. It will shoot 1/2’ to 1” pins and has has a setting which adjust the depth of the ma...
