I heard a while back that Senco went through some kind of financial troubles, so I was leery to buy this gun. That said, I’ve been using Senco nailers and staplers at work for years and I have been consistently impressed with the quality of their guns as well as the user-friendly direction the guns have gone to in the last 5 years. I bought this at Home Depot about a year ago and so far it’s been nothing but trouble! I wanted a stapler and I think this was on sale for $110.00 at the time. It was a brad nailer as well, but the stapler was the reason I purchased it as I already own a brad nailer. I bought one of these and have been thoroughly disappointed with it. No matter what the air pressure or length of the pin it only sinks them to flush at best. And of course you can’t adjust the depth. If I sand one bit you get a nice shiny (until it rusts later) little 23 gauge nailhead looking at you. I also do not like the fact that it lacks a soft nose. So if you try and hold it a little tight to get the pin sunk as far as possible you get a dent in the wood that is a lot worse ...

I had a craftsman nailer/stapler combo that did a decent job but would smash the wood sometimes with the square headed 16GA nails. I have some new woodwork that wasn’t going to work well with those nails so I was looking for a new one. I bought this gun to install 1500 board ft of crown. It’s light weight really helped when useing it over head. It came with two triggers one for “bump” fire and a standard trigger. Portercable has made this gun oilless, which I love. It also has a belt clip which is very handy. Overall this is an excellent gun to own.
First one was a dud, second one is fine.

Mind you, pnuematic nailers are honestly very simple tools as far as air tools go. The driver is simply a piston, with a simple connecting rod sort of arrangment. You would think that if a company is going to build a product that has a piston, a connecting rod, and motion, that there would be a wrist pin right? Well not in my first one. Now #2 is working great. It leaks a tiny bit of air, but that is my fault. I took the thing apart to inspect it and managed to tear one of the paper gaskets. ...

Just purchased a Numax SP123 pinner from Amazon for Under $30. I had a project to apply some fine moulding which would be split by 18 guage brads and did a seach on pinners. Did not want to spend alot as I did not know if I would ever use it again and found this one and by looking it appeared to be good value. This was a micro nailer that I bought in hopes of fastening trim on the very end of the piece without splitting and not just any trim but oak and it worked great. This 23 gauge nailer is very light weight and can shoot 1/2”- 1” headless pins so small that if you stain the piece you have to look very hard to even see the small spot of the head. I purchased this stapler after being disappointed with the 1” gun that came in my PC combo kit. It is a full range narrow crown stapler: 18ga. 1 1/2”. It has a selector on the trigger for bump-action or sequential firing which is a nice feature, as opposed to swapping out triggers. The carry handle is flimsy, but aren’t they all.
