Buyer Beware!

Buyer Beware!

I bought this at Home Depot about a year ago and so far it’s been nothing but trouble! I wanted a stapler and I think this was on sale for $110.00 at the time. It was a brad nailer as well, but the stapler was the reason I purchased it as I already own a brad nailer. I didn’t use it as soon as I got it home as I was busy with other things and I guess that was my mistake, if I had of used it there and then it would have been back to the store immediately. It was a little over a ...

Tool Shop Nailer/Brad Nailer-Stapler/Pin Nailer Kit

Tool Shop Nailer/Brad Nailer-Stapler/Pin Nailer Kit

I picked this set up from Menards as a birthday present to myself. I had a Harbor Freight brad nailer that was, well, a harbor freight tool; a total piece of stinky-stuff. So, I was in the market for a new one plus I had been dreaming about getting a pin-nailer as well when I saw this kit on sale for $80. I picked it up after checking the return policy (knowing that ‘Tool Shop’ can be on par with ‘Harbor Freight’ in terms of quality) and took it home. First I̵...

Reliable, Well-Made 1 3/8" Pin Nailer

Reliable, Well-Made 1 3/8" Pin Nailer

614 days ago by NiteWalker | 8 comments »

I bought this pin nailer primarily to hold small maple corner blocks in place while the glue sets. I tried brad nails and they would split the small 1 3/8”L x 3/4”W x 3/4” T blocks. I originally had my eyes on the Grex P635. For my application I didn’t need a pin nailer that could shoot the longer pins, so it came down to the Hitachi and the Grex. I decided on the Hitachi for a couple of reasons:- It was half the price of the Grex (it’s even less now on amazon...

Inexpensive but surprisingly good

Inexpensive but surprisingly good

Just purchased a Numax SP123 pinner from Amazon for Under $30. I had a project to apply some fine moulding which would be split by 18 guage brads and did a seach on pinners. Did not want to spend alot as I did not know if I would ever use it again and found this one and by looking it appeared to be good value. Anyway, got it along with some 3/4” pins and it really works great so far. It will shoot 1/2’ to 1” pins and has has a setting which adjust the depth of the ma...

Very Nice 23ga Pin Nailer

Very Nice 23ga Pin Nailer

755 days ago by Michael J | 6 comments »

Admittedly, this is my first 23ga pinner, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. However, I have 3 other Porter Cable nails gun, so I do have some frame of reference when it comes to pneumatic nail guns. I had done a lot of research on pin nailers and was just about to make a purchase when I came across a few reviews on the Rotek 23ga pin nailer. The reviews I read were very favorable and I liked the features that it came with, especially at the $99 price tag. I was origina...

Video Review of Hitachi's 2" Brad Nailer

Here is my review of a great little brad nailer that I have owned for over two years. Since this is a video, I was wondering if I should post it as a “video” blog post also? I figured I would ask so people wouldn’t think I was spamming or something.

I just bought this tool the other day specifically for one project, used it today for the first time, so this is an intial impression review and time will tell how it holds up or what other uses I may find for it.
