BOSCH Glide Saw, Up For Review

BOSCH Glide Saw, Up For Review

The BOSCH GCM12SD dual bevel glide saw is a remarkable tool that takes accuracy and ease of use to a new level. Now that I’ve completely let the cat out of the bag that I like this tool, lets see why. The most obvious features are the upfront controls and the super smooooooth axial glide that BOSCH has engineered and patented. These upfront controls not only allow for rotating the table, but also make it possible to tilt the blade left to right. Yes, that means you no longer have ...

Irwin Miter Saw Laser Guide -- works well so far

Irwin Miter Saw Laser Guide -- works well so far

This weekend I bought and installed the Irwin Miter Saw Laser Guide onto my DeWalt Miter Saw. I’m very happy with it so far. It was easy to install It projects a crisp clean line to the left of the blade (unless your blade retaining nut is on the right of the blade) It is very helpful with complex cuts or cutting complex material It is less helpful with straight cuts on square material (it’s easier for you to know where the blade will be cutting in this regard) It was c...

Hitachi C12RSH Double Bevel Sliding Miter Saw

Hitachi C12RSH Double Bevel Sliding Miter Saw

I bought this saw last month after doing quite a bit of research and looking for the best bang for the buck. This saw had very good reviews on the internet and I spoke with a couple of contractors that had this saw and got good reviews from them also. If you are going to be using this saw on job sites you will need a portable stand for it, this thing is no light weight it weights in at 65 pounds. I checked the back fence, bevels and miter angles and this thing was set perfect from the f...

Ridgid Miter Saw stand doesn't disappoint

Ridgid Miter Saw stand doesn't disappoint

This is my first review, so here we go…... So i was looking to upgrade my miter saw stand from my trusty Ryobi Stand. I have to admit, i was perfectly happy with that stand, and really didnt think I would be upgrading anytime soon. However, the lack of mobility with that stand finally got the better of me. I really like to have my saw very close when i’m casing out doors and windows and moving my Dewalt 10” slider and stand was getting to be too much of a hassle. I ...

Excellent Saw On a budget

Excellent Saw On a budget

Well what can I say, my wife bought me this saw for Christmas and she did an awesome job. I really like the size of the saw 10” is just what I need, also the Laser Trac system is extremely helpful. It came with a 10” 40tooth saw blade that does a great job, but if you are planning on doing detailed finished work I would get another blade. I built a mitre saw cart and all in all I couldn’t be happier./!

Makita LS1016L 10" Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw w/ Laser

Makita LS1016L 10" Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw w/ Laser

So I just got this miter saw about a month ago and so far the only complaints I have had about it where that I needed to adjust the laser after I first got it. It cuts smoothly and accurately, it slides nicely and it makes cuts up to 13” wide. it’s already saved me lots of time, I hardly need to use my crosscut sled anymore for anything other than plywood and I just can’t say enough good things about this saw!

new slider on site.

We had someone steel the new 10” makita slider and the old turd of a dewalt slider from the jobsite last week. we are trimming out a hotel and have to have the tools on sight so the boss picked up a new dewalt at the BORG. I am a fan of the dewalt. I have used this saw 12 hours a day for the last 5 days and it has probably cut a few miles of trim between the two shifts. it was dead nuts right out of the box. it has performed so well that I told him to pick up another one on his way...

Great Sliding Compound Miter Saw for Woodworkers on a Budget

Great Sliding Compound Miter Saw for Woodworkers on a Budget

I’ve had an old Ryobi $99 Home Depot special miter saw for years and was looking to upgrade to a sliding model for wider cut capacity. I really wanted a laser too, because lasers are awesome. I did a lot of searching on Amazon and at the usual woodworking sites and pretty much resigned myself to spending $400-500 for a decent sliding compound miter saw from Milwaukee or Dewalt and started saving money. That was until I walked through the tool section at Lowes and noticed their ne...

A neighbour down the street asked me to look at his mitre saw. He said it wasn’t cutting square in any direction. I tuned it up best as I could and figured, while I’m here, I could review it. 10 inch Craftsman Professional, at first, I was impressed. Craftsman engineers did a good job disguising cheap metal as a ‘professional saw’. The only reason I’m going to be so harsh on this saw is the fact they stick a big “PROFESSIONAL” logo on them. I’...
