My money is hard to come by and harder to justify spending. So when I do indulge in a woodworking subscription I demand a great deal of bang for my buck. Well, let me tell you, five bucks never went so far! I subscribe to Fine Woodworking’s online content, and it’s a five star find in my book. First of all, you get to read the magazine as soon as the newest issues come out. That means you don’t have to buy the regular mail subscription. I know, I also like the paper issue so I can read it ...

I don’t know about you, but I have wood working magazine addiction. You could say that I am a Hoarder. Woodsmith, Shop Notes, Fine Woodworking, Wood, Etc. I always found myself remembering an article, but not remembering where to find it. So probably like everyone else, I started tagging and making notes, using annual table of contents, etc. But always seemed to take more time than what I wanted to spend, looking for the article and or information. But then, along comes Fine Wo...

I always liked wood magazine and the layout, projects, and articles. I just bought the new special interest “outdoor projects” copy with a garden bench on the front. Long story short the bench was not in there…. Disappointed I emailed their editor and got a response in about 15 min with an apology for the mistake and a free download of the plans for the bench. Great customer service and I think it made my decision to subscribe.FMG

A friend of mine recently gifted me with a subscription to Woodsmith Magazine, a publication of August Home Publishing. There are quite a few niceties that this particular publication has that many do not. I will list some of the positives that most impressed me. 1. The...

(photo from www.canadianwoodworking.com) I always look forward to receiving my next issue of the Canadian Woodworking magazine. Each issue is filled with: several projects to complete, lots of tips skill building variety of furniture building, carving, and other woodworking techniques I think that that is my best part, that they mix the types of woodworking and do not just focus on furniture building. They also, in my opinion, cater to the skilled woodworker as well as the...
