Craiglist Find

Picked this up off craiglist, my best guess is its a 37-220, serial# 70-1635, but its hard to tell for sure. Had to order new bearings for it, as one was frozen.A well made tools for its age, and even after sitting in poor condition was easily dissembled and reassembled. All parts were were made with quality materials, as you can see the brass block that lubricated the screw drives. This is a good tool for a small project worker. It dosn’t take much space and with the 6” wide bla...

Baileigh and Elite Metal Tools Customer Service

Baileigh and Elite Metal Tools Customer Service

09-28-2018 09:50 PM by Matt Przybylski | 25 comments »

UPDATE: I’ve spent the last few days working with Shane from Baileigh (who is on this forum) and he’s gone above and beyond for me. Baileigh, after seeing all my photos and in speaking a few times, has agreed to completely replace the machine. I could not be happier with this outcome and I can’t speak any more highly of Shane and Baileigh in this whole situation. They stepped up and took care of me and I’m forever grateful for it. 5 stars for Baileigh, 0 stars for E...

Cutech benchtop 8 " jointer

Cutech benchtop 8 " jointer

I was in the market for an 8” jointer and have read great reviews for this . When they had free shipping over the holiday, I ordered one. For over 30 yrs I have used a 6” delta with knives and I got very tired of sharpening them, and resetting. A real pain. I need to make space in my shop so this small jointer seemed a good fit. 1. the ordering on the site was simple and easy2. the package shipped UPS and was very well packed. The jointer was totally surrounded by form fitting ...

Porter-Cable PC160JT 6'' VS Jointer

Porter-Cable PC160JT 6'' VS Jointer

The service from Max Tool was what was promised. The jointer was delivered on time and in great condition. I was building like this chair as well products Set up went smoothly until I got to a few of the screws that needed to be loosened. The heads of the hex screws stripped with pressure on the hex wrench. Luckily I could clamp vice grips on the head and it finally cracked loose. That is, at least, the one for the blade head lock. I never got the top two for the dust collector attachment loo...

Sweet jointer at a very nice price

Sweet jointer at a very nice price

I already own Cutech’s bench top planer and like it a lot. Now that I have the space for it, it was time for a jointer and having liked the spiral cutterhead for the planer, why not for the jointer too? I had an issue with some of the cast pieces that was resolved after some email back and forth with Mike from Cutech, who was super helpful. He mailed me replacement parts and they worked very well. The jointer works great and comes with a nice set of pushpads. Best of all for me...

Scorpion 12" Helical JOINTER/PLANER

Scorpion 12" Helical JOINTER/PLANER

05-05-2017 06:50 AM by Andre | 23 comments »

Just a quick review to let state my personal opinion, anybody interested in the spec’s can look them up.The basic’s are it is a 12” (Helical head made by Stinger) jointer planer combo machine that excels in the jointer department and really planes very acceptable, the conversion is a hassle. Procedure is easy and fast enough just a pain to switch the Dust Collection over. I do not use the planer function all that often so the gain in shop floor space more than makes up ...

As good as I hoped

As good as I hoped

A former coworker set up a garage shop when he retired and decked it out with very nice Powermatic tools all purchased as a package deal. Now, 8 years later, his health has failed and he’s selling his house and liquidating his shop. I was really happy when he called to give me first dibs, and purchased this jointer for a VERY good price. All of his tools were lightly used and in very good condition. I had to break down the machine to get it down my basement steps, and is just got...

I love this jointer

I love this jointer

I love this Grizzly Jointer. I have a small shop and the size of this machine is perfect. The spiral cutter – head is worth every penny. I gave 4 stars because, I requested the lift gate service. UPS Freight called me and scheduled an appointment at their convenience for delivery. I scheduled time off work to make the appointment time UPS Freight requested and then UPS Freight blew me off. No call, no notification, no call to reschedule, nothing. UPS freight never showed up. ...

Jointer	Grizzly G0490XW

Jointer Grizzly G0490XW

I purchased the G0490XW. I ordered the one that I wanted and waited for to come in: it was on back order. Came in about mid November 2016. Yes it has the spiral head and mine worked first time just fine. Still tuning in some stuff. I probably still have a little to learn about it yet. However, my boards come out very flat and the edges are very square. Took a while to get it square. I mean really square. So gluing up produces nice flat work. It does exactly what a jointer is suppose...

It eventually turned out well, but what a pain

I recently decided I wanted to upgrade my 6” Jet jointer. I had gotten tired of cutting board and re-gluing them, and the beds just weren’t long enough. I had upgraded the straight knives on my Jet to a Byrd head a few years back and knew I wanted a segmented head. I did a bit of research and decided it was worth going for the parallelogram beds; hopefully if I bought a new machine I wouldn’t have to adjust it, but shimming dovetail ways is a whole lot harder then adjus...
