From what I can see, the mechanics of this jigsaw appear identical to the corded version (the DW331K). Wow – this saw really surprised me. I wound up doing a lot of carpentry recently (cabinets in the garage made out of 2×4’s and plywood) and my B&D drill died. For my anniversary, the loml bought me a DeWalt 18v drill/impact driver combination kit which started me looking for a way to score another battery. Since I had a “lowest price I could find” B&D I t...

Butter!

Butter!

This like most every Bosch tool I’ve had the privilege to use this is a quality machine. This tool is tough! It sports a perfectly balanced grip, a non-scratch shoe cover, a silky smooth variable speed trigger suitable for even the finest scrolling application, the most easily adjustable bevel angle base I’ve ever seen, a deep cycle long running NCAD, the standard battery used by virtually all tool companies but in the Bosch Blue Core format which promises future upgrade compatibility. OK, fellow jocks, I know you’re snickering: “this newbie bought a power tool at Aldi.” And yes, I probably would have laughed at it too but damn if it isn’t a decent saw. The background: Needed to cut some circles out of plywood. Was going to use points at Sears, but missed the sale on the C3 by a day. Figured I’d just grab something cheap at HFT until I could get what I really wanted. The woman made me stop at Aldi on the way to grab some dinner stuff and ...

Is bad

I had a cheaper version of this saw and the quick release clamp broke. I figured I had bought all these stupid blades to fit the quick clamp so I bought another B/D of higher quality (the one being reviewed here) so I wouldn’t have this problem…..wrong. The new one broke the same way (quick clamp) so I stumbled upon this site trying to find a replacement for the broken quick clamp. You can find them for about $3…........................+$12 shipping. arrghhh

I needed a new jigsaw and since most of my tools are from Ryobi I decided to give this jigsaw a go, and to be honest its probably the best $40 I have spent on a tool, extremely fast and accurate and love the following features: 4 Position orbital actionVery powerful motorThere is a LED light that illuminates the blade entry point into the wood (extremely handy)No key needed for blade attachment
