I bought this machine to replace a Delta 14” bandsaw equipped with riser blocks. That no longer could produce the power I needed. Lets get the the bad news done frist. Yes, this saw is made in China…...Don’t let that scare you. Yes, this saw cost a lot….But, you get what you pay for. Set up was easy. All I had to do was, mount the table, and the motar. The hardest part of the job was getting it off the palet it came on. Installing the motar was tricky, only because ...

Nice saw, perhaps some limitations

Nice saw, perhaps some limitations

When I began looking for a new bandsaw I started by reading reviews that other bandsaw owners had posted on various websites and forums. These proved very helpful so I wanted to share my experience which will hopefully be helpful to others. I have now owned the saw just over a year so I have some reasonable experience with it. First I want to qualify the star rating I have given the Lagona LT18 3000. As it sits in my shop today and for my intended use I would give it a 4. It took me so...

Central Machinery 14” 4 Speed Band saw

Central Machinery 14” 4 Speed Band saw

Review: Central Machinery 14” 4 Speed Band saw This is a preliminary review of the saw that I got today from HF. Price: $360.00Speeds: 600, 1140, 1670, and 2670 Feet Per MinuteWeight: 179 lbs This is a first for me, buying not only my first bandsaw, but also buying one without thorough reading of reviews. I toyed with this saw at the store, I had to straighten out the whole thing before I could see it work, the blade was in backwards, and the saw was completely out of adjustment. Funny,...

I know this is not a wood cutting band saw ( even if one could use it to cut wood with the proper blade) but I believe that woodworkers do not work wood only. I have been looking at his saw for about a year. I read excellent users’ reviews about it. I read about how people tweaked it to make it work better or mostly to make it more stable.I went to buy it several times but ended up not buying it mostly because it would takes room in my shop.I had a lot of angle irons to cut to build ...

I’ve had this saw for over a year now and I really like it. I used it for everything until I got my table saw; for a time I thought I didn’t even need a table saw. In truth, if you have a router and a jointer then you can make do with just a bandsaw; but now that I have a table saw the BS sits quiet a lot. I drove up to Muncy to get the thing, it was nice to touch and feel all of their extensive line of bandsaws. In the end I just got the biggest one that would fit in my sma...

My experience buying and using the RIKON 10-345 bandsaw.

My experience buying and using the RIKON 10-345 bandsaw.

I have wanted for many years a larger capacity bandsaw to use primarily for resawing and cutting out turning blanks. I am a bargain hunter and looked for a couple of years on and off to find used one. I chased down a few leads but always found them to be under powered, 3 phase, or being in terrible shape and requiring more than I wanted to gamble on restoring them, so I saved up for a new one. I considered a Powermatic, Delta, Grizzley, Jet, Laguna, and RIKON. I live far enough out from a...

Here is my review of the grizzly G0514X2B 19” 3 HP Extreme-Series Bandsaw with Motor Brake. I ordered the saw about 3 monthes ago. Shipping – The saw arrived at my house about 4 or 5 buisiness days after ordering and was packed in a flimsy wooded crate but I did not see any problems tahat stemmed from this. The material of the crate was 1/2” X 3” pine. I did not see any damage after removing the crate si I guess it was fine. I did pay for the lift gate and the frie...

After reading so many positive reviews for the G0555 I went ahead and purchased one. I always seem to be the one in a hundred who gets the lemon. I have limited experience with bandsaws and am hoping it’s just a setup error on my part, and that someone may have some insight they can offer me. I have spoken to Grizzly tech help several times but find their responses inadequate. First the trivial issues (at least I think they are trivial). 1.) Can’t adjust the guide beari...

Viking Re-Saw Blade 105" x 1/2" 3 TPI (Timberwolf)

Viking Re-Saw Blade 105" x 1/2" 3 TPI (Timberwolf)

We all know that most of the time the blades that come with anything new are usually pretty sad. The blade that came with my Ridgid was not so bad at all. But as soon as I installed the Grizzly 6” riser block and the 105” blade they sent with it was when I found out what a bad saw blade was like… truly unusable. I began to search for a better blade. My intention was to obtain a 1/2” blade that can handle everyday chores, but could step up and do some nice re-sawin...
