Viking Re-Saw Blade 105" x 1/2" 3 TPI (Timberwolf)

Viking Re-Saw Blade 105" x 1/2" 3 TPI (Timberwolf)

We all know that most of the time the blades that come with anything new are usually pretty sad. The blade that came with my Ridgid was not so bad at all. But as soon as I installed the Grizzly 6” riser block and the 105” blade they sent with it was when I found out what a bad saw blade was like… truly unusable. I began to search for a better blade. My intention was to obtain a 1/2” blade that can handle everyday chores, but could step up and do some nice re-sawin...

My New Grizzly Bandsaw

My New Grizzly Bandsaw

I am in love! I have never reviewed a product and am not rerally sure how to do this but I do have to say that this product has changed and inhanced my woodworking so much. I have 2 blades that I work with; a 1/4 and 3/4 Highland Woodworking Wood Slicer blades that are amazing. I ordered the riser for this saw as well so I do use 105” blades. The setup is so easy. From the table to the fence to the miter gauge, it is so easy to square things up and get perfect cuts. The dust collection ...

Laguna Tools LT 16 3000 Series Bandsaw

I would really give this saw 4.8 Stars but that is not an option. The only reason for not giving it five stars is that I have trouble holding the table tilt knob while tightening the bolt that locks the trunnion with that other hand. I am 66 and have arthritis so you younger jocks might not have this same problem. I would prefer a larger wheel with an offset handle like those found on table saws for this function. Other that that I love this saw. I bought it used from a seller who told me it ...

Craftsman 12" bandsaw

Craftsman 12" bandsaw

Hello fellow lumber jocks! Scored a Craftsman 12” bandsaw and mobile base this weekend off of CL. $50 for the saw and $10 for the base plus the owner still had the original manual. When I went to check it out it had been sitting in a basement unused for at least a year. It had the usual crud buildup on the table from sitting there but I could see that there were only a few spots of rust on the table itself. Plugged it in and it fired right up and made a nice straight cut with no bl...

Craftex 16" 2HP Bandsaw (CT082) Review

Craftex 16" 2HP Bandsaw (CT082) Review

Here’s a little review for any of you fellow Canucks out there who are looking for information on Craftex machines. For most US citizens this review will mean virtually nothing because as far as I can tell Craftex is a brand that is pretty much exclusively marketed and sold in Canada through the Busy Bee Tools franchises. I have heard that there is some relationship between Busy Bee and Grizzly but I don’t believe the conspiracy theories. I purchased this bandsaw in the sprin...

First new Band Saw

First new Band Saw

The whole Experience. Including my lack of it. I had been struggling with my first band saw an old Craig’s list 1/2 hp 14” Delta on resawing and log sawing for the last 4 years. Since it only cost me $50 how can I complain. But about week ago the switch broke and some of the magic smoke got out of the motor so I decided to move a little further up town and ordered a Grizzly G0513P 17” 2 HP Bandsaw, Polar Bear Series . Four days from phone ordering to the UPS truck pul...

Review of Delta 14" Bandsaw, Sawing with a Delta

Review of Delta 14" Bandsaw, Sawing with a Delta

When it came to buying a new bandsaw, I really took my time on which one I wanted. I looked at all the main brands, and compared the difference. There were really not very many difference. They all cut wood…I ended up going with the brand that pioneered the 14” bandsaw, Delta Machinery. I bought this bad boy at Rockler when they had there 15% of Delta tools. The Bandsaw comes in one big box, and it weighs a lot. The way the box was shaped it was very hard for two people to h...

Hi lumber jocks!! I got some great news!! I got a used 12’’ bandsaw!! I found it on cregslist for $85 great deal don’t you think. We brought the saw home and set it up in the garage and did some test cuts, gave the blade guards some adjustment and the saw did great in the test!! The saw has a 7’’ 1/2’’ cutting capacity. And has a powerful 1/2 hp motor. The fence is very nice, but it appears that the table is mounted backwards because the adjustment ha...

My first bandsaw

My first bandsaw

I picked this up from Craigslist the other day for $200, not bad I thought. It’s got a 1 1/2hp motor so it should be a bit more powerful than the 3/4hp Ridgid that I was looking at. The best thing about this deal was the original owner put on a Kraig KMS7200 fence and added two resaw guides, an HTC2000 mobile base, and four blades. A smokin’ deal I thought. I have a question for all you experienced bandsaw guys: I adjusted the blade guides and then noticed the blade on the bott...

Timberking 1220 manual sawmill

Timberking 1220 manual sawmill

02-22-2011 07:43 PM by HalDougherty | 13 comments »

Timberking has been selling sawmills for a long time and I’ve wanted my own for almost that long. It took a while to get everything together to purchase one. I went with a manual mill instead of a more expensive hydraulic model, first because of the extra expense for the more complicated sawmill. Second, I wanted to saw lumber to be used in my own products and to justify more expense, I would have had to be in a full time sawmill business. With this little mill, I can carve gunstocks...
