Impressed, good value so far

I had for years been using an old Delta 12 inch saw that I got on Craigslist. It was wearing out in multiple ways all at once and all the problems were hard to fix since it’s long discontinued, plus it only has a 6 inch resaw capacity and for most of what i do eight would be about right. I did a lot of research, including reviews here, and settled on the Craftsman BAS 350 which is the same as the Rikon 10-321, only @200 bucks cheaper. I was thinking about the Rikon 10-325, but itR...

I will have to come back after I get some time using this band saw so please consider this as a first impression review. I took receipt of the saw this afternoon so I have only performed the un-boxing/assembly and did a few test cuts in maple. The packaging was top notch on-par with the packaging used by SawStop. Assembly was quick and easy with help from my 10 year old daughter, all said and done took maybe 2 hours to assemble with her help and us taking our time so I could explain things...

Grizzly “G0636X – 17 Inch Ultimate” Bandsaw Review

The first post to Lumberjocks was this review, which I posted in the Forum, Under Tools etc. It was recommended that I re-post this review in the Review section of Lumberjocks. Purchase. I have been woodworking as a hobby since 1985, but never owned a bandsaw – until now. Previously, I re-sawed on the table saw and used the jig saw & router for curved cuts. Before making my bandsaw purchase, I saved my money and researched bandsaws. I considered 14” to 19” bandsaws from every manufact...

Serious upgrade

Serious upgrade

Purchased this at the PA location during their going out of business sale. The retail price was $545 they sold it to me for $475 since they were clearing out the store. In the past I used a craftsman 10”. This new saw has plenty of power. It is covered in grease and assembly took about an hour. I can’t speak for the factory blade as I replaced it with a Timberwof blade. Cuts are clean and fence & table are sturdy and square. The only complaint I have is how difficu...

Before I start my review i have to say sorry for my bad English but i’m sure they are better than your Greek.I have this band saw for the last 7 months. When I wanted to buy it I had not find any review. So it’s time for the first. I live in Greece and the tools are expensive and difficult to find many brands. According to manufacture the specifications are: • Motor: 1500 Watts (2hp)• Blade Length: 2750mm• Blade Width: 6mm – 25mm• Max. Cutting Capacity – Heigh...

Grizzly G0555LX - 14" Deluxe Bandsaw - Love it

I bought this bandsaw this past spring. I also bought the riser block to obtain a 12” cutting capacity.I really like this saw, it has plenty of power, runs smooth with no vibration. Fit an finish was on the mark and assembly was straight forward. I did have to add shims to the riser block, other than that is has been performing well for me. It has cut everything I have asked it to (and some I didn’t ….. 9 stiches right index finger) from mdf to plywood to oak and I am su...

RIKON 10-351, 14” Professional Bandsaw

RIKON 10-351, 14” Professional Bandsaw

I purchased this bandsaw to replace my 15+ year old Jet 14”, primarily to gain additional resaw capability and boy does this machine deliver. The 3 hp motor and 14” of resaw height gives me all the capability I could ever use. This is my first Rikon tool and I am impressed with everything about it so far. It is a beast weighing in at over 300 lbs (over 400 in shipping crate). It came well packed in a wooden crate and had no damage. Plan on several helpers to lift it off the pallet. I go...

Drillnado Drill Press Dust Collection with one problem

Drillnado Drill Press Dust Collection with one problem

I purchased this product at the Tampa woodworking show. The inventor was at the show and demoed the dust collection. I thought that the dust collection setup had a small footprint. I’ve tried other methods that just got in the way at the DP. The cost was $39. Included the quill for attaching to the DP, two housings and additional fittings to secure the quill. At the show, a second housing was provided with the purchase. I’m not sure if that is the case with every purchase...

The Rikon 10-345, 18 inch Bandsaw

The Rikon 10-345, 18 inch Bandsaw

It’s been about 6 weeks since I picked up my new saw so I’ve had some time to create saw dust with it. The Rikon 18 replaced a PC 14 which I’ve used for several years.First impressions. This saw is big, it’s heavy, so if you bring one home, have a friend or two handy. My saw was well packed in it’s shipping crate and had no damage. Assembly amounted to mounting the table, assembling the fence and mounting some hand wheels. Tuning is well covered in the owner...
