Ryobi Right-Angle Drill

Ryobi Right-Angle Drill

11-24-2008 08:07 PM by ferstler | 0 comments »

I used this drill in conjunction with a Ridgid right-angle impact driver (also reviewed previously) to install some crown moldings on kitchen cabinets that I installed some years back. My wife and an interior designer she hired made the suggestion and I always follow my wife’s suggestions. The drill was used to help secure hidden backer boards to the cabinet top edges. I had already attached the backers to the moldings out in my workshop. The Ryobi unit worked just fine in that tight...

Great Tool and Even Better Customer Service From Home Depot

Great Tool and Even Better Customer Service From Home Depot

Wife purchased an additional smoke detector and Carbon Monoxide Detector today, which required me to get out the drill. I received this as a gift last year after my prior drill of 10 years died. I really do not need much more than this as I really do not have a need. So it meets my needs. It is comfortable to hold and use, the battery life is very good, as is the ability to perform as a drill and driver and general uses as a flap sander, wire wheel distress-er etc . I use it in the sho...

Senco Dura Spin only average

Senco Dura Spin only average

I purchased the model DS202 14 volt Senco dura spin fastening system from Home Depot. The kit comes with a hard case, two bateries and a charger. Designed to shoot strips of screws into drywall and other materials. In two large jobs I have had several misfeeds from the gun and it gets jammed up easily. Have gone back through the instructions and fine tuned it but the results were the same. When it is working at peak performance it is a beast, but when it jams it is something else.

i saw this one being sold in a “dual pack” along with the GSR 10,8 drill driver for an interesting price where you basically get the GSR almost for free, but with only 2 batteries for both. (those are the european names)and yesterday i had my first “on site job” and i simply could not have done the job without this tool as i had to remove screws from inside tight boxes. it comes in a soft mallet with 2 bits wich i thought was another gadget i would never use, but it...

Milwaukee 3/8" hammer drill

Milwaukee 3/8" hammer drill

This is a review, hence it is just my opinion. To the best of knowledge the picture is a true and actual representation of the item I am reviewing. Sorry about the above but others have made these little disclaimers necessary. So onto the drill. Yep, I give it 5 stars after what I just put it through. I just tapped about 30 holes in 1/2” aluminum (7/16” x 14tpi) with this little puppy and it did not flinch one bit. I have had this drill for quite sometime now and have used it for a...

...at least it spins.

We all have made a bad tool choice. For alot of folks I hear of that old favorite the wobble dado cutter. For me it has been a few Black and Decker tools. I bought this drill for approximately $30. It is a rather featureless drill, it has a keyless chuck which is the one reason it got more then one star. The chuck holds tightly and I have yet to have a bit spin loose and I can still loosen it by hand. The other star got added because at least it spins. Now to the interesting points. ...

Porter-Cable PC218C-2 PORTER-CABLE 18-Volt Cordless Drill & Circular Saw Combo

Porter-Cable PC218C-2 PORTER-CABLE 18-Volt Cordless Drill & Circular Saw Combo

I’ve had this combo set for just over a year now. Overall they work good. The Nicad batteries aren’t as long lasting as I would have hoped. When I had the chance I upgraded to Lithuim batteries. That was an improvement. The drill has its quirks. The chuck isn’t the best. Once in a while the driver or a drill bit comes loose when using it. I have learned to tighten the chuck after a few uses. The cordless saw isn’t bad, but I upgraded to a better blade (the norm). ...

No Batteries Required

No Batteries Required

If you have power handy in your shop this little drill is great. The clutch has 24 settings for driving screws and it has good torque for driving at slow speeds. I have power right at my bench so it works great for me. About the only thing it lacks is a high-low speed switch. I paid $20 for a reconditioned one and will be using it most of the time instead of my battery drill. Best of all – No more dead batteries in the middle of a project.

Very impressive 1/2 inch driver.

Very impressive 1/2 inch driver.

I got this drill for Christmas and have been very impressed with everything about it. It does what you expect a drill to do, it has the torque you need. Where it goes beyond that is its light weight and power use. I used this drill extensively for several hours on a single battery. When I finally used up the first battery I was initially afraid that the drill was broken. I thought it was broken because it was behaving as though it had full strength right up to its last drop of battery li...

Just picked up my new Bosch 18v Litheon yesterday morning ($239 can) for an install i had to do. I wasnt confident that my Dewalt would make it through the job and didnt want to be stuck without. This is the second Bosch drill ive had and now i wont use anything else. This drill is very light for an 18v which im sure mostly has to do with the lo-pro litheon battery packs it uses. i found myself check the case befor i left to make sure the drill was actually in there because it was so light co...
