Best bandsaw blade I've ever used and very reasonably priced.

Best bandsaw blade I've ever used and very reasonably priced.

Hal Taylor turned me on to Diamond Sterling blades. I’ve been using them for a year now. I bought the 3/8” 3 TPI, .032” blade and I love it. It is much, much better than the Olsen blades. I prefer the Diamond over the Tri-master (I believe) too. I think I paid around $100 for the Tri-master and I got the Diamond Sterling from here for around $20. I’m not affiliated with them at all. I had to cut some wood on a friends bandsaw who didn’t have the Diamond ...

First of all, I want to apologize for my english level. My parents have decided to be french. That being said, I hope this review will be useful to you. I have bought Kreg Jigs in the past and have been pleased by the overall quality and ease of use. That’s why I have bought Kreg Precision Band Saw Fence, Resaw Guide and Rip Cut Jig to enhance my shop. Here in Québec/Canada, as french is the official language, companies have to provide french manuals. It’s not a whim, it’...

A remarkable blade

A remarkable blade

818 days ago by gfadvm | 30 comments »

I resaw a lot of really hard woods like Bois de Arc, Mesquite, and Jatoba and have been using 2 or 3 TPI resaw blades but felt like they were very slow and required too much force to push the material through them. I called Timberwolf and they suggested a new resaw blade. It is more expensive but T Wolf says they will outlast 5 conventional resaw blades so I ordered one. I’ve used it to resaw oak, hard maple, and Jatoba so far and I’m really happy with it. It goes through 6”...

Best bandsaw upgrade in 15 years!

Best bandsaw upgrade in 15 years!

886 days ago by MedicineMan | 5 comments »

I have a 1990’s era Delta 14” bandsaw, and finally wore out the hand crank. Then I found the $19.00 crank offered by many sources. I have used it for about 5 years, then it wore out, locking the threads into the nut. This time I needed a fast fix and couldn’t take any chances, so I sprang for the $44.99 heavy duty tension crank I had seen on the Highland Hardware/Woodworking web site. It seemed kind of expensive, but I couldn’t find a source for the 3/8”-12 t...

Carter Magfence

Carter Magfence

My 18” bandsaw is, essentially, dedicated to resawing and other straight cuts. I was not happy with the original fence and I looked to upgrade. I did not find many options for an 18” bandsaw and finally purchased this Carter magnet based fence. I’ve worked with it some and now I offer a mixed review with both the positives and the negatives as I see them. (As an FYI – I have a second, smaller, band saw that I use for the curvy stuff.) As I would expect fro...

Great blades

Great blades

896 days ago by Sawdust2 | 7 comments »

This is a 3 TPI blade from M K Morse. It is a carbide tipped blade and is used in industry for cutting aluminum castings. This review won’t let me post all the photos but I first used a bi-metal blade from a vendor I really like. I could not get it to track straight. (I set my saw up using Michael Fortune’s method so I don’t get any drift.)I installed this blade according to Fortune’s method. This is a 1/2” blade but I was advised to only tension it to a 3/8”...

Great Bandsaw Blades

Great Bandsaw Blades

This is a follow up to my praise of this resource http://www.orderbandsawblades.com. I have been using the blades now for a couple of weeks, and boy do they do the job. As I said before they are not flimsy they are sharp and rip well and cut effortlessly. I am using a 3/8×6tpi on my 10” Jet, prior blades including Lennox and Olsen failed and dulled quickly, and were costly for what they were. Service is great, shipping is cheap and fast. two 5’ 7 1/2 blades were about $15, shipping $5 in 2 da...

Excellent Bandsaw Fence

Excellent Bandsaw Fence

973 days ago by JohnnyB | 3 comments »

I did not buy the fence that was available for my General bandsaw when I got it six or seven years ago. I was clamping a piece of wood on the table to act as a fence when needed. I finally got tired of this tedious chore, and when I read the reviews of some of the available bandsaw fences, I found that none of the reviewers were unequivocally pleased with them. I had never heard of Woodhaven before finding it by doing an internet search, but now I know that they make some solid and versatile ...

Upgrade for my Delta Shopmaster 9" Bandsaw

Upgrade for my Delta Shopmaster 9" Bandsaw

987 days ago by webbtoyota | 6 comments »

This is my first review so bear with me if it’s not as clear and concise as others. I have a Delta Shopmaster bandsaw and I have absolutely hated using it in the past. I was just about ready to get rid of it until I ran into this website and heard about people “upgrading” the bandsaw with a decent blade and cool blocks. I decided to try this route before I put it up for sale. I just recently purchased a new Olson 1/4” 6 tpi blade and a set of cool blocks (about $30 ...

Wood Slicer

Wood Slicer

1024 days ago by CartersWhittling | 27 comments »

Hello. I just got a new Wood Slicer Resaw blade from Highland Woodworking. After reading the setup and description of the blade I put it in my bandsaw and used a scrap 8/4 piece of oak to set the drift angle. Then I put a 10” maple log through the saw. Here is some pictures of the log I cut. The right half was done with a resaw blade that I got with my bandsaw from the previous owner and the left half is with the wood slicer. A little nicer I think. I bought both a 1/2” ...
