Harbor Freigth Tree Pruning Tool

Harbor Freigth Tree Pruning Tool

12 days ago by b2rtch | 9 comments »

I had several trees with dead branches that I wanted to cut.Several times at Harbor Freight I looked at the cordless electric chainsaw which at $60.00 after rebate is a good buy but being cheap I decided not not buy it but to buy the manual tool instead.I am very glad I did. It is very well build made not of cheap stuff but heavy steel and the adjustable pole is also steel and lock with a 1/4 turn or so.I used this tool most of the day yesterday and I am very happy with it.I paid around $12.0...

Harbor Freight 4 In. X 24 In. Variable Speed Professional Belt Sander

Harbor Freight 4 In. X 24 In. Variable Speed Professional Belt Sander

67 days ago by Jerry | 20 comments »

Oh boy… This belt sander is the BOMB. Maybe I’m just enamored with the fact that I finally have a belt sander, but after using the 25% off coupon and comparing the specs with others, I’ve not found its equal at this price point. The bad: I had to return the first one because it randomly sped up to full speed no matter what the speed setting. I had to return the second one I bought because the tracking adjustment screw had been badly bent ( in shipping I suppose ). T...

The tool I could not do without

The tool I could not do without

81 days ago by b2rtch | 28 comments »

My wife bought me this tool for my birthday probably six years ago. I have used it for demolition and construction to cut copper pipes and wood, to sand where no other sander whould have done the job and for many other things. This tool took me out of a bind countless time. This is a wonderful little detail sander. This morning I used it again to trim pieces of wood where not other tool could have done it. If you do not already have one of this, go buy one. Sometimes they are on sale ...

A Pleasant Surprise

A Pleasant Surprise

This review for the coarse grade of sanding sponges. They are sold in packs of ten at Harbor Freight. I was over there and needed to sand some curved pieces so I picked some up. I also got some Norton 60 grit sponges elsewhere so I was able to do a direct comparison. I’ve also used 3M’s sponges in the past. Harbor Freight doesn’t specify the grit but I’d say it’s between 60 and 80 grit. I wasn’t expecting much from these sponges. I’ve used ...

Harbor Freight DC Mod

Hi, First time posting,Long time reader I just finished my HF DC mod. When I first added a seperator with Theinbaffle I noticed a big drop in suction. Once I eliminated all bends and flex hosethe collector seem like I gained all suction back. (Plus saved a lot of room) CollectorIs hung off shelf and only thing touching the floor is seperator can. Seems Awesome. I would like to add a wynn filter at somepoint when I have $$$$. (I can’t see how any more air could flow through t...

Harbor Freight Digital Mini Moisture Meter

Harbor Freight Digital Mini Moisture Meter

http://www.harborfreight.com/digital-mini-moisture-meter-67143.html Again another stunning value from Harbor Freight $12.99 for something that measures moisture in wood, masonry, and doubles as a centigrade or fahrenheit thermometer. Compare this to 25 or 30 bucks elsewhere.

http://www.harborfreight.com/500-lb-horizontal-toggle-clamp-96233.html Hard to beat for the money, I just bought two and am very very happy with them. Very substantial and very high quality. For $5.49 as opposed to Rockler’s > $20.00 price, they’re hard to beat.

GREAT FEATURES/GREAT VALUE!

GREAT FEATURES/GREAT VALUE!

A VERY HIGH 4 STAR A year or two ago I decided to get into the pocket hole joinery kick for basic carcasse construction. At the time I bulit a jig to house the jig and accesories, and I finally got around to posting the project. (seen here) Many of the comments focused on which jig this was, so I thought it high time to do a review. (Not to mention this RARE gem from HF deserves a positive nudge. After much consideration and research, I chose the (dare I say it) Harbor Freight jig....

Harbor Freight Carbide Faced Carving Disc for 4 1/2" Grinder

Harbor Freight Carbide Faced Carving Disc for 4 1/2" Grinder

131 days ago by Jim Jakosh | 11 comments »

I had to carve 2” off the diameter of 4 1/2” pistachio tree that was 50” long and needed something to take off a lot of material without loading up or wearing out. So I tried one of the half donut shaped carving wheels from HF that has pieces of carbide embedded in it. I usually don’t like the cutting tools or sand paper from HF, but this carving wheel is one great abrasive tool. It cut all that wood away and is still sharp enough to do it again. I hate to say that I ...

HF Aluminum bar clamp

HF Aluminum bar clamp

178 days ago by gamygeezer | 27 comments »

Heat wave yesterday! All the way up to 57F! So I decided to go shopping. I rinsed off the sawdust, trimmed the ear hair, unclogged the sink and cranked up the old DRam. I went to Harbor Freight to check on the locking casters reviewed recently, but really had to browse the whole store. I found a rack of aluminum bar clamps almost exactly like the ones I really like from Jorgensen. Had to get one (or so) of course. I picked the “36 inch”, a handy size, which actually has o...
