About a year and half ago, I was tired of having to leave the shop whenever my compressor kicked on due to the noise level. The compressor was one of the tried and true Porter Cable pancakes and it worked great for everything except my eardrums. Thinking about how I used a compressor, decided to downsize a bit and purchased a small one gallon unit from California Air Tools. Pros Noise Level. This thing is QUIET! It uses a two cylinder pump driven off an induction motor. It is oil free and has an aluminum tank. At 35 pounds, even a 79 year old can lug this around without much effort. ...
