Whem I first purchased this saw I was happy with it. It was a dramatic improvement over what I had been using. Now after using it for several weeks I must, unfortunately, change my view. I have been using this saw rather extensively and what I am finding, after completly disassembleing it is that it is almost completly worn out. the blade holders (made of plastic) no longer hold the blades properly and the tension arrangement loosens up while you are cutting. Less than a month ago I started into scrolling with an ancient Delta saw I got at a yard sale for $5.00. It only took me about a day to discover 2 things. first I was facinated with scrolling and second I would need a better saw if I was to really do any serious work. So I started researching saws. A little about me and where I’m coming from. I’m a newbie turner. Having started just about a year ago or so. I mainly turn game calls. So I won’t be able to comments on this lathe’s ability to turn bigger pieces. I started with a mastercraft 12” lathe 1/3hp (reviewed here on LJ) with electronic variable speed. It did the job surprisingly well, although it lacked a bit of power. The thing that was a bummer with this lathe was that it only accepted MT1 accessor...
