Hopefully this will be an awesome jig, once I finish making it.

Having too many beers, Amazon Prime and one touch ordering on my Amazon account resulted in my delivery of the DELTA 34-184 Universal-Deluxe Tenoning Jig this Sunday morning. So onto the rant….umm? I mean review. Unboxing and light assembly, this jig seemed pretty decent, until I put it on my saw. Holy shit did it wobble! The bottom plate is a 3/8 cast iron plate with weight reduction recesses underneath it. And the surface is not machined at all, but instead finished with a heavy on...

Wicked Awesome Saw!

Wicked Awesome Saw!

05-10-2016 11:42 PM by vulgarviking | 9 comments »

Ok. I apologize for the Bostonian title. It won’t happen again. Lol! So after about 6 months of research, looking at saws by going to tool dealers, Craigslist post, consignment shops and so on… I settled on the 36-725. My wife figured out the saw I wanted and got me the 36-5000! She figured it was better and I wasn’t about to argue. So on to the review: There’s not much more that I can say that hasn’t already been said about the 36-725. Differences are th...

Product: Delta Industrial 50-722 1 Micron Top Bag for 50-720 and AP400Regular Price: $20 I’ve only owned one dust collector, an AP400, and it came with a 30 micron bag that would snap to attention when the collector comes on. I didn’t have any complaints about dust but after reading a godzillion warnings that you should have a 1 micron bag I bit the bullet and purchased this upgrade, catching it on sale for half price. The AP400 is supposed to have a metal rod that supports the...

Biesemeyer Fence Major Disappointment

Biesemeyer Fence Major Disappointment

09-24-2015 04:25 PM by Hawk_Guy | 37 comments »

So I finally pulled the trigger on a Biesemeyer table saw fence, the Rolls Royce of fence systems. I will preface this with the statement that I must be the most unlucky consumer on the market or the tool industry has gone to total crap. For those of you who have read my reviews in the past you may be thinking I’m some sort of internet troll out to bad mouth manufacturers. I’ll be frank, if the product is good then I’ll rave about it but if the product stinks I’m go...

Jointer Blades from Infinity Cutting Tools

Jointer Blades from Infinity Cutting Tools

03-17-2015 07:25 PM by frosty50 | 5 comments »

I was very impressed with Infinity Cutting Tools customer service. I ordered a set of new blades for my jointer as they were in desperate need of replacing. My son had used the jointer and the results were several nicks in the blade at least 1/16” in depth. My local sharpening shop recommended replacement do to the damage. I ordered them on-line and Infinity processed the order within a day and I received them through the mail within the allotted time. I was excited to get back to the s...

an oldie but goodie, for LIGHT use.

I picked this up at a local auction for $5, put it all together and was afraid to power on the drill for this contraption looks somewhat deadly. It came with a belt guard that I did not install (I will, though) so I can see just how this modern machinery marvel operates as the yellowish rubber band belt looks like it’s about to fling off the 2” silver circle pulley. I changed to the fastest RPM (3200) the little 10” drill press could go. This little device (who engineers...

Delta 78-963 Biesemeyer T-Square Anti Kickback Snap in Splitter -Not what it should be

Delta 78-963 Biesemeyer T-Square Anti Kickback Snap in Splitter -Not what it should be

01-31-2013 11:46 PM by mrg | 12 comments »

I bought this back in December thinking it would be a good replacement since I did not have the factory splitter on my saw. The thought was lets make it safer until I buy my new saw. I had read many mixed reviews on the splitter and figured that maybe the bad reviews had to do with how people had been installing the splitter. It is just like any other splitter that you find on the uni-saw and the later contractor saws that have been discontinued. I got it home unboxed it, removed the ol...
