What can you expect from a 120$ table saw?

What can you expect from a 120$ table saw?

Some call it cheap crap, I say “challenge accepted” After many years of refinishing old tag sale furniture, I decided I’d like to do woodworking. I got some books, then got some tools. I wasn’t sold on the idea that I would be good at it or even like it, so I wanted my initial investment to be fairly small. Around Christmas time, Home Depot had this bad larry on sale for a little over 100$. I could have picked up something used and much nicer for short dough, but s...

About 10 years ago I bought a Ryobi combo kit from home depot which included a drill, skill saw, sawzall and flashlight. It was promptly returned and I spend the extra money on a 18V Ridgid combo kit which I have added a few batteries and extra cordless tools to over the years. About three weeks ago I was noticing the batteries were getting tired, the drill was wearing out and the other tools were showing their age. I have been looking at the Roybi one stuff at home depot for a while think...

Good Jig Saw Great Price

Good Jig Saw Great Price

Another reconditioned tool from Direct Tools factory outlet in Hagarstown MD. This one looked brand new except for the RECOND branded into the housing. This is a standard orbital jig saw with adjustable blade angle, adjustable shoe angle, adjustable orbital motion. adjustable locking speed, and a max speed limiter on the trigger. It has plenty of control and power and far more adjustements than I will ever need. I can’t really see myself needing the adjustable blade angle or the a...

Ryobi 12 in. Drill Press

Ryobi 12 in. Drill Press

Last year I a ryobi 12 in. drill press for $120 dollars. I have to say I am very happy with it and it has not let me down yet. I do recommend buying this 12 in model with changing the speed by hand and not the model with lever controlled speed for 60 dollars. It doesn’t take much work to open the cover and change the pulleys. specifications: laser Variable Speed by changing belts 1/4 hp motor Tilting table light Assembly for the drill press was very simple and I...

I needed a new jigsaw and since most of my tools are from Ryobi I decided to give this jigsaw a go, and to be honest its probably the best $40 I have spent on a tool, extremely fast and accurate and love the following features: 4 Position orbital actionVery powerful motorThere is a LED light that illuminates the blade entry point into the wood (extremely handy)No key needed for blade attachment

Fantastic, except for 1 (potentially fatal) flaw

Fantastic, except for 1 (potentially fatal) flaw

I am generally not a fan of Ryobi tools, although I think my option may be tainted based on their older tools, the newer green ones are slowly winning me over. I have owned this for about a year now, so I feel I have plenty of time with it to offer up a fair review…Maybe i’m a little out-of-date, but I have never used a jigsaw with variable speed that wasn’t just “pull the trigger less” and I’ve never used an orbital jigsaw, let alone one where the orbit wa...

To give Ryobi more than 2 star rating is pretty good, considering I am not a huge fan of most of their products. So for a plunge router, this is a good router to have whether you are a novice or a pro.It has plenty of power to do any job you need it to do. easy controls for speed changes. the on off switch is with in thumb reach, the plunge mechanism is nice and smooth. quickly locks and unlocks, and easy to do so with both hands on the router,, ergonomically it is very comfortable in the ...
