Dewalt DW735 and DW7350 planer stand

Dewalt DW735 and DW7350 planer stand

I have been very pleased with the 735 planer and 7350 planer stand with mobile base. The base rolls around effortlessly, yet locks down solidly with the push of a foot pedal. The planer works very well. I like to remove only about 1/32” per pass to limit wear on the machine. I have never had feed roller problems like some competitor brands, and the chip ejection fan (along with a Jet DC650 dust collector) leaves no chips on the floor and no dust in the air! Blade changes and adjust...

Excellent planer, but get the extended tables

Excellent planer, but get the extended tables

This is my first planer, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it works great. All of the controls are easy to use, two speeds (different # of CPI for dimensioning or finishing). I like the fact that the cutter head is connected to the base with 4 risers instead of two like the DW734 and DW733 as well as the Ridgid and Ryobi planers they carry at Lowes and Home Depot. The depth adjustment is extremely easy to use and once I set it, it hasn’t moved once. The top is e...

Hi All, ‘Picked up this 734 dewalt last week at Lowes. They had just dropped the price down to $399. I know you can get it for less at other stores on line but the shippng is outrageous so…. I have used other people’s planers….and this 734 is the best yet. It is a three knife system and gives a very smooth surface but the best feature is it’s 4 post hold down on the blades. The knife also has a a lock.. I plane short boards due to the size of my shop….w...

Bought one this evening!

Bought one this evening!

Based on the reviews here on LJ forum and a good review in WOOD magazine, I took the plunge and bought one at Lowe’s this evening. I had saved up some money and have it in the garage, ready to open, read the manual (real men don’t read the manual), build a stand for it and make lots of wood dust or chips, whatever it makes. I’m going to plane some scrap pine to get used to it and make any necessary adjustments . The LOML wants a dining table. I have a stack of pecan that...

Very NICE !!!

Very NICE !!!

I purchased the Dewalt 734 today from Lowes for $399.00. I have been looking at both the Ridgid 13” and this Dewalt. I have it fiqured out that these are pretty much equal products. Why did I choose Dewalt ? Simply because I was worried about the ability to find replacement knives for the Ridgid. I also like the manual lock on the Dewalt and I am also a little po’d with Home Depot because they would not honor their on- line price in the store which was 369.00 vs. 399.00. (Wi...

Dewalt DC390 6 1/2" Circular Saw w/ 18v XRP battery

I don’t recall how much I paid for this saw as I bought it on a Black Friday sale from Lowe’s last year, and it’s sat over the winter. I finally got to drag it out to trim some 3/4” OSB for my workshop remodel, and wow. I was concerned about how much pressure I’d have to use to get through the material – but I was halfway done with the cut before I realized I was exerting almost no pressure at all. It’s been zipping through the cuts like a sports c...

An awesome saw

An awesome saw

I don’t like to give 5 stars, but I think this really deserves it. I bought this saw a little over 3 years ago. This is the first “good” tool I bought. It is responsible for starting my spiral into buying higher end tools. Before this tool, I bought mostly B&D and $100 stationary/bench tools. This cordless saw is so handy. I use it all the time. It cuts very straight and the case includes a place to store your extra blades. I’ve used it to cut sheet goods...

Gets the job done!

Gets the job done!

Where Purchased: LowesPurchase Price: $149.00 Let me start off by saying that this is the first biscuit joiner that I’ve owned so I can’t compare it to other models but I will give you my honest take on the model. Specs:It has selectable depth settings for #0, #10, #20 and “M”. The M setting is for future use, what ever that means but at the M setting, you get the full depth of cut. The height is very easy to set by loosening a thumb screw and turning a knob ...

Great saw with a few annoyances

Great saw with a few annoyances

12-06-2009 12:37 AM by Webb | 13 comments »

I have had this saw for about two years now and use it regularly. I have not yet bothered making a sled for the tablesaw since I tend to use this for anything narrower than about 14”. Note you can cut boards as wide as 16” but it requires messing about with the fence which I have not bothered to do. The saw does eat up a lot of space; you need a lot of clearance on the sides plus it needs a substantial clearance behind the saw. The price for the capacity I guess. I have not per...
