Dewalt 713 miter saw

Dewalt 713 miter saw

06-21-2013 04:37 AM by UncleSnail | 1 comment »

dead nut perfect miters right out of the box. It is shipped with a 40 tooth, thin kerf combination blade. This blade did a better job than my freshly sharped 80 tooth. So I put the Dewalt blade back on. This saw is moderately priced and is very much so worth the bucks. Uncle Snail I realize the picture of the coffee table I built has absolutely nothing to do with the saw review but how interesting can a saw pic be?

Hey guys! Figured I would do my first ever review. Now this is going to be my impressions of this tool, as well as my rating of the accessories for it. I havent used many routers other that DeWalt so theres no point in comparing. So here we go! I bought the DW618B3 kit over a year ago. I had a 1-3/4hp Craftsman router that just wasnt cutting it for some of the bigger projects i was getting into once I went pro. So upon review and after using a friends DW616 i decided i was going to go with...

DeWalt Sander Review

DeWalt Sander Review

I have recently replaced my Porter Cable 333VS random orbital sander with a DeWalt D26453 random orbital sander. If I could have stayed with the Porter Cable 333VS I would have. I have found three problems with the DeWalt.1. The dust bag is useless. It stops little dust and requires dragging a hose. The Porter Cable’s bag was superior and for most operations the supplied bag was fine. Seldom had to use a hose.2. The top of the DeWalt is domed and is hard to balance during sand paper ins...

Simple but Nice; Though a little over-priced

Ordered these clamps from Woodcraft to go with my DeWalt TrackSaw for $44.99. Purchased these at a 10% discount in December. Watch for their “10% off all DeWalt” sales to order items like this, as they do not normally go on sale. It was shipped direct from the manufacturer. I have used these with both the TrackSaw and Router adapter. Features:These slide into the bottom of the track and quickly can be engaged or released with one hand. (very similar mechanism to the Quick-...

Nice Addition for a DeWALT TrackSaw

Nice Addition for a DeWALT TrackSaw

For Christmas this year, I purchased a DeWALT TrackSaw (Review pending) and decided to add on the Router Adapter. I purchased it from Woodcraft, as they had all the items I wanted and also a 10% off sale in December. I paid $53.99, saving $6 with the sale. Shipping:The box was direct shipped from DeWALT and arrived in great shape via UPS. CompatibilityThis attachment not only fits most DeWALT models, but also has adapters to fit the Porter-Cable 690 & 890. UseI have only used t...

Outstanding countersink/bit combination

Outstanding countersink/bit combination

02-19-2013 03:32 AM by Rick M. | 12 comments »

Over the years I’ve tried a number of countersink + drill bit brands, most use a replaceable bit but they are all pretty mediocre and few lasted a year. I’ve owned this Dewalt set for several years and they still perform like the first day I brought them home. Some folks believe combination bits are gimmicky, preferring to use separate products but these might change their mind. Not only do the countersinks perform flawlessly, the tapered bits are exceptional and probably the best...

Replacement Hook and Loop Pads at Lowes

Replacement Hook and Loop Pads at Lowes

01-16-2013 05:19 PM by pintodeluxe | 2 comments »

The hook and loop pad on my Dewalt 421 sander gave out, and would no longer hold sanding disks. It lasted for 7-8 years, and I like my 421 more than the current Dewalt offering. I was surprised to find them in stock at Lowes. They run about $18, and better yet they fit many of the Dewalt 5” sanders. It works great, and restored my sander to like new. I now have two sanders so my wife can help! If your local Lowes doesn’t carry them, try Dewalt tools or https://www.too...

Clogs, Bogs, and Dogs

I have become accustomed to long lasting sandpaper like Norton 3x, and Freuds excellent ceramic blend sanding disks for my random orbit sander. I was running low on supplies, so I grabbed these Dewalt disks one day. Almost instantly the paper loads and clogs while sanding oak and Titebond II glue. The sanding was short lived, and I clocked about 8-10 minutes of sanding before switching pads. At first I thought the dust collection was excellent, then I realized it was only because these di...

DeWalt finally hears a who...torx conversion

The DeWalt 735 regularly gets positive reviews… This is sort of an addendum. I have championed this tool often, and Those who have kept up know I have a bias towards it. x y I run three of them now, and years of experience with the ins and outs of this loud but compact beast. The one knock this tool gets is the many complaints about the bolts stripping. While I have never done this, I will admit to feeling many times that it was _about to happen. And size of the factory key didn̵...

DeWalt Dust Extracting Vacuum.....As good as Festool?

DeWalt Dust Extracting Vacuum.....As good as Festool?

12-20-2012 04:04 PM by Cory | 37 comments »

I bought this vacuum for $220 from Amazon a week or so ago to replace a 6 year old Craftsman shop vac. I was drawn to this one because of the auto-on switch and the suction adjustment feature. Those are two items I had been wanting after demoing a Fein and Festool vac. At about half the price of those vacuums, this one performs equally well. There are a few minor negatives, but my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Positives:-Excellent suction-variable speed/suction power is ...
