Rating: 4 out of 5 Bottom Line: Very good fret saw offers an extremely high degree of control which saves time when it comes to fine woodworking tasks. Comes up short when it comes to material selection for the handle. Otherwise generally positive but not a necessity in the workshop given the price. Cutting dovetails by hand has its moments of tedium. Getting rid of the bulk of the waste from the pins and tails is one of them. So, I always try to find a way to speed that up. Enter the small saws… First, I tried a coping saw. It was a hand-me-down, and I’ll never discard it because of whom, not what, it represented.
