Rockler Thin Rip Table Saw Jig

Rockler Thin Rip Table Saw Jig

616 days ago by David Grimes | 13 comments »

This is a Rockler product that is well made and does exactly what it says it will do. It’s about $20 if you get it at regular price. I have used it on two occasions to rip several 1/8” strips to face the front of birch plywood wall shelves. Tonight the strips were from a drop of Poplar that otherwise would have been used as a bunch of stirring sticks on its way to the burn pile. I got three 1/8” x 96” pieces from the 3/4” x 5/8” x 96” I started ...

Highest quality pizza cutter I've ever seen

Highest quality pizza cutter I've ever seen

632 days ago by Eric_S | 5 comments »

I decided to pick one up from Rockler after Lew’s great review. These things are no joke, a little pricey at ~$20 though. I’ve owned many pizza cutters and most are lightweight, blades wobble, or the blades are just crap. Not to mention that the blade is always off center. This one has none of those issues. Its the heaviest pizza cutter and kitchen utensil I own, solid stainless steel I believe. The blade is in the center with thick rubber or plastic washers on both sides ...

Cross cut sled

Cross cut sled

500 days ago by richgreer | 28 comments »

I’d always thought of a cross cut sled as a “nice to have – but not essential”. Then Rockler had a sale on this item ($99) and I said “why not”. This is a tool that raises the buy versus build question. I could probably have made a sled as nice as this one, but I am sure I would have spent at least $50 in materials and several hours of labor and I decided, in this case, to buy instead of build. I am very impressed by the overall quality of the ma...

Great Router Table You Can Grow Into!

Great Router Table You Can Grow Into!

1904 days ago by Hawgnutz | 7 comments »

One of the great attributes of this router table over many others, is the availablity of quality accessories at a reasonable cost. Rockler stocks a complete line of accessories for their table, including the Incra precision router fence. The Incra fence is one of the primary reasons I chose the Rockler table. It goes on easy and was designed fror this particular table top. This table top comes with an insert of 1/4” aluminum pre-drilled for many different routers. If your router ...

Sharpen your mortise chisels

Sharpen your mortise chisels

1903 days ago by Karson | 15 comments »

Rockler and others have this tool to sharpen your mortise chisels. Trust me they don’t come sharpl Lee Vally has just the sharpening cones for $7.95 a better buy than Rockler. It’s a cone with diamond sharpening grits on the edge. The picture doesn’t show but it does come with 2 grit sizes, course and fine. I placed the diamond cone in my drill press and lightly brought it into the inside of the mortise chisel Ligntly do that until you get all edges of the chisel sharp...

Rockler Power Air Respirator

Rockler Power Air Respirator

1903 days ago by Dick, & Barb Cain | 36 comments »

I wanted a respirator that I could wear all by itself. I didn’t want to contend with any head gear. I have used regular dust masks over the years, but after wearing them for awhile, it takes a lot more effort to breath.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After seeing this one in Rockler I ordered one. It’s surprising how that little built in fan helps in your breathing, & it keeps your face cool. The fan is very quiet, & it runs on 4 AA batte...

Great Guide

Great Guide

1801 days ago by John Gray | 10 comments »

I have the 50” model of this All-In-One Clamp Guide and love it. It’s really nice to use when breaking down a 4’x8’ piece of sheet goods without having to manhandle it up on the table saw. I cut them up right on the tailgate of my pickup before they come into the shop. You don’t have to have the Saw Plate just hold the saw firmly against the guide. When you “set it up” for your circular saw Sharpie the offset between the blade and the saw’s shoe and you’ll not ...

Rockler Thin Rip Tablesaw Jig

I know allot of you have made your own version of a thin strip ripping jig. I fiddled with making one and was in too much of a hurry to get my project going. I looked at this one online and liked the design and it was only $19.99 with free shipping. As usual Rockler shipped it out right away, and it was on my doorstep 4 days after I ordered it. They also accept Paypal now which is really convenient. It comes with simple instructions on the back of the box. The whole device is made out of pheno...

Precise Repeatability for Multiples

Precise Repeatability for Multiples

1557 days ago by Marco Cecala | 5 comments »

I am currently building a set of 6 Arts & Crafts chairs as designed by Kevin Rodel in FWW. I will be doing a project posting soon, but wanted to recommend a tool that really helped me on this job. In order to reduce individual fitting and trimming of all the joints, it is necessary to make mortises in the same place on each piece. With this jig, it’s easy to do. The tall back leg has 5 mortises, half of them angled. I was able to set up the jig, and place the mortises so the teno...

Rockler Abrasive Cleaning Stick (Rockler Item# 46987)

Rockler Abrasive Cleaning Stick (Rockler Item# 46987)

692 days ago by David Grimes | 18 comments »

I am certain most of you either have used these or know about them, but… for those of you who do not: I began using a combination belt / disk sander in my home shop a couple of months ago, so I ordered one of these cleaning sticks soon after since my belt was loading up a bit. When I used it on both the 4” belt and the 8” disk, they were almost instantly de-loaded and restore to like new condition. People, quite frankly I was actually a bit amazed at how well this piece...
