I got a Rockler Gift card for Christmas this past year (yay!), which means I finally had no excuse to not buy the State Park Font template set I have been wanting. And for the most part it was exactly what I was expecting. HOWEVER two issues… #1. Do NOT use the tempate in the manner shown by Rockler. Your router base WILL hang on it, and if you give too much pressure it can hop up and ram the bit through whatever is in the way. #2. The brass bushing that came with mine is defectiv...

Finger Joint Jig Hack

Finger Joint Jig Hack

03-25-2016 04:23 PM by SJ881 | 3 comments »

Just bought this Jig and Tried it Yesterday for the first time, Joint came out really nice. I watched a few Videos and READ the Directions First. Only thing that needed help was once on the Router table and adjusted, I could not get to the Adjustment hole for my router. I needed to raise the bit a little and had to remove the jig, adjust the bit then Re-adjust the finger joint jig before Starting. Did a little research last night and this was suggested! DUH! (slaps Forehead!) used a pi...

My roommate and i have had a lathe for around a year now and only had the old tools that came with it. they were not very good and we didnt use it much because its a bit much to start with. i had been reading about carbide tools for some time but the cost it what kept me away. I saw the rockler set was on sale for $100 over the US thanksgiving weekend so thought it might be worth the try. I am very impressed already! so much easier to use! Other item that people talk about is how you cant sha...

ROCKLER - DRILL PRESS FENCE KIT - ITEM #53648

ROCKLER - DRILL PRESS FENCE KIT - ITEM #53648

This was an impulse buy because I didn’t really need to replace the fence I made with the table top. But I knew that this would be a good upgrade. Instantly I am impressed with this. The anodized aluminum fence is perfectly square. My shop vac hose is a snug fit onto the dust port, and I do like the sliding fences (features that my old one didn’t have). This fence fit on my existing table without any modifying. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it for me as this is an u...

Rockler 3-Piece Silicone Glue Application Kit

Rockler 3-Piece Silicone Glue Application Kit

I picked this up on a whim. I was looking for an ink roller, or glue roller, and couldn’t find either at a local woodworking supply shop. I did find this gem and for $15 I figured I’d give it a try. I’ve used it a couple times now, and both times I intentionally left the glue dry on the brush/applicator/tray and it came off as advertised. As for longevity, only time will tell.

Great design, good execution, excellent buy if on sale

Great design, good execution, excellent buy if on sale

These clamps were the first of my F-style clamp purchases to replace my HF F-style clamps. As of the review posting date, I have a set of 4 of these clamps. For full disclosure, my first choice would have been to get Bessey Tradesman with the 2K handle, but those things are rarely (if ever) on sale. I also have a set of 6 Bessey Tradesman in the 12” size so this review is a bit of a comparative review. At the full retail price, it’s , it’s a no brainer I would go for t...

Makes Glue-ups Much Easier

Makes Glue-ups Much Easier

There are certain conveniences in life that once you get used to them, it’s very hard to go back to the way things used to be. I think Rockler was first on the scene with the silicone glue accessories, and I’m happy they did. A few notes on these and some others out there. The glue tray is probably the most irreplaceable. I used to squirt glue on a scrap of wood and then toss it when I was done. Now I reach for the glue tray, and I can clean it with water when I’m d...

Rockler's new Auto-Lock T-Track Clamps

Rockler's new Auto-Lock T-Track Clamps

09-18-2014 04:18 AM by timbertailor | 12 comments »

As some of you may already know, I recently built an assembly table (32” x 48”) using dual purpose track. I needed more clamps (who doesn’t?) to provide proper coverage of the large surface area and saw the new AutoLock T Track clamps in Rockler’s catalog. I watched a few product demonstration videos and decided to give them a try. What a great design. The large wheel makes tightening in position a breeze with plenty of leverage to hand tighten in position. Anoth...

Rockler customer service rocks

Rockler customer service rocks

A little history. About 5 years ago I bought a mini bench top router table from Rockler. After two moves and some mishaps the mdf subfences were ruined so I needed new ones. I didn’t want to make my own so I contacted Rockler to see if I could order these parts. Rockler answered my email promptly with the information that they didn’t make that size anymore but that the longer ones for their regular table would fit, but would stick out at the sides a bit. And they asked what m...

Almost a really good clamp

Almost a really good clamp

05-27-2014 01:38 PM by mramseyISU | 4 comments »

I recieved these clamps as part of a Mini Clamp-It set with two of the assembly squares which work really well and 4 of these clamps. I’ve had them for a little over a year and up until recently I really liked them. About a month back I was using them and as I tightened them down I noticed that the threads on the clamp were all bottomed out but they weren’t tight. That was funny I thought and then I noticed that the head was coming off of all of them. The flaw on these clamps is t...
