Rockler Shelf Pin Drilling Jig (Review)

Rockler Shelf Pin Drilling Jig (Review)

02-03-2014 07:56 PM by Brett | 9 comments »

Have you ever noticed holes , neatly in a row, on the inside of many book cases and cabinets? Have you ever wondered how they might have gotten them so straight, and evenly spaced? Maybe you have, maybe you haven’t. I never really gave it much thought until I decided that I may want to attempt to build something that needed some adjustable shelving. This jig is one way that a do-it-yourselfer may be able to add those adjustable shelves to your project! It is a shelf pin drillin...

Stumpy Nubs Entertaining Review: Rockler Bench Cookies & Accessories P1

We are producing a new video series which takes the concept of tool reviews and adds a bit of “info-tainment”. No, this isn’t a song and dance kind of thing, it’s a serious tool review, done in a not so serious way. I love to watch tool reviews, but I rarely watch a review just for the sake of watching. I hope this new format changes all of that! You may already own the tools, you may not care about them. But the videos themselves are worth watching! Anywho- The fol...

Rockler Table Saw Fence Micro Adjuster

Rockler Table Saw Fence Micro Adjuster

12-15-2012 06:14 PM by mbs | 8 comments »

I purchased this adjuster to make very fine adjustments on my sawstop table saw. The base is magnetic and the magnets are pretty strong. I’ve modified my review since I took another look at the device. This unit doesn’t work properly on my Sawstop because it needs to sit directly where the scale indicator sits. I looked at Rockler’s website and some people have made extensions to compensate for the interference. I’m not sure if I want to mess with it or not. ...

2 Great Glue Brushes - Rockler and Betty Crocker

2 Great Glue Brushes - Rockler and Betty Crocker

I bought a Rockler glue brush and it works great, just as advertised. When the glue dries, you can peel it off. Easy to clean, spreads well. However….I was in the dollar store one day and they had Betty Crocker basting brushes….for a buck each. My curiosity got the best of me (you know where I’m going with this). I decided to do a comparison….head to head….for the title of “Best Glue Brush”. I trimmed the Betty Crocker brush so the bristles (?) ar...

Blast gate problems

Blast gate problems

03-10-2013 08:05 PM by bear2 | 8 comments »

I recently purchased two 2 ½ inch blast gates from Rockler so that I could split my tablesaw from my floor vacuum. After installation I found that with one gate opened and one gate closed my vacuuming power was reduced by more than half. The gates leaked significantly in either the closed or opened position and rendered the system useless. For a small system the small gates are of little value, for a larger more powerful system larger gates may work.

Great Router Table You Can Grow Into!

Great Router Table You Can Grow Into!

One of the great attributes of this router table over many others, is the availablity of quality accessories at a reasonable cost. Rockler stocks a complete line of accessories for their table, including the Incra precision router fence. The Incra fence is one of the primary reasons I chose the Rockler table. It goes on easy and was designed fror this particular table top. This table top comes with an insert of 1/4” aluminum pre-drilled for many different routers. If your router ...

Accurate to within 1/128"

Accurate to within 1/128"

I took a chance on a $29 digital caliper from Rockler. Having used other high quality caliper and micrometers before, I didn’t think it possible to buy a quality unit for that price. I was wrong, and this unit rocks. It has readouts in decimal inches, decimal mm, and fractional inches. It provides surfaces for inside, outside and depth measurement. I have used it frequently over the last several weeks and I always keep it near by when doing setups.

Move over Big Foot...The Rockler All-Terrain Mobile Base Rules the Shop!

Move over Big Foot...The Rockler All-Terrain Mobile Base Rules the Shop!

07-02-2009 04:02 AM by Andy Brownell | 7 comments »

I recently broke down and dropped some cash ($180) for this new product from Rockler. My shop space is limited and I have little space to move around my table saw. The parts are gigantic, and almost over the top, but in a good way. The wheels, thickness of steel and bolts are all over-sized. Assembly was so easy, there were no instructions…It can accommodate for just about any standard sized piece of small shop equipment, but it offers some extension sets (longer metal bars) to allow fo...

Bench Cookies are Sweet!

Bench Cookies are Sweet!

03-09-2010 07:19 AM by Jay Neale III | 7 comments »

This will be short and to the point. I bought a set of four Bench Cookies from the Rockler in Arlington, Texas, this past Saturday. That evening I used them to support my new router table top clamped to my old router table top so I could use the old top as a template to rout out the opening for the plate. I hop that made sense. Anyway, the Bench Cookies worked GREAT! I expected them to work, but I was still surprised at how well they held my work piece in place for the entire operation. N...

Simple, Precise, Affordable

Simple, Precise, Affordable

There have been several posts/threads lately about mortisers, jointers (biscuit and domino) and assorted jigs, so I thought I would add my two cents along with a review + pics in action. This is the beadlock pro system, not to be confused with the inferior cousin that is essentially a drill block. It is all aluminum & steel construction, heavy duty, and highly adjustable. What you see in the pictures is the bottom rail of a walnut headboard having been drilled out for the stiles. Al...
