UPDATE: When I bought this planer 18 months ago, for some reason I also bought a pack of ten cutters. When I received the planer, I found a very small black piece of cardboard with a little blister pack stapled to it, with a couple of extra cutters. Completely forgot about it and put it with the odd wrenches we all have to collect. In this case, in a clear container with my router table wrenches, planer wrenches, and jointer wrenches, since the tools all sit pretty close to each other in my...

This past June I was looking at the Grizzly 8” jointers on line when I came across this. It was $200.00 off the original price because it had a paint defect. I thought about it for a week and I called Grizzly on July 1st to see how many they had left. The lady on the phone said six, So I orded one, that very next day Grizzly came out with the 10% codes, I called when I got home from work the next day and I was told sorry there was notihing they could do. This was the 2nd time this past ...

Barely cuts 3/4 inch oak ISSUE RESOLVED!!

Okay, so after not having a table saw for about 4 months since we moved and had to leave my brother’s 89 dollar pro-tech saw behind, my wife finally decided to get me the Grizzly G0715P. All in all, I would rate the actual saw a 4 out of 5. I gave it 3 stars because of the lack of power. I found an extention cord, cut to a shorter length, to act as my wire for my 110v re-wire, since the apartment I’m in said I can’t install a 220v outlet for it. so I got the 6 dollar cir...

Another 1023 RLW review.

Another 1023 RLW review.

So let me just say thanks to the community, I don’t normally post anything anywhere but this community was very helpful in making my decision so I feel the need to give back. Hope this helps anyone looking to buy this saw. After trolling these boards and agonizing for about a year I pulled the trigger on a 1023 RLW. Also, so you know where I’m coming from I spent the majority of my childhood learning and projecting on my grandfathers delta unisaw w/bis fence and worked in a sma...

Grizzly G0555LANV - 30 Year Anniversary Edition

Grizzly G0555LANV - 30 Year Anniversary Edition

I bought the anniversary edition of the popular G0555. 100% pleased with this saw. Absolutely zero complaints. The fit and finish is flawless. The base is strong. All blade guide and table adjustments are easily adjusted. I can change a blade in about 30 seconds with the quick tension release. It has a blade tension gauge as well. 4” dust collection hose port in the lower rear works great. The motor is strong. I wrote a longer, picture filled article about the saw that you can read here

I bought this sander a year ago and wish I had purchased one years ago. this machine saves hours worth of hand sanding. the only problem I have with it is the feed belt tracking. I have to adjust it after a few hours of use but it is a simple chore to readjust

Before I begin my review of the Grizzly TS, my previous TS was a cheap Craftsman. So please keep that in mind as you read my review. Purchasing decision: Before I purchased the 1023RLW, I did my research on the various types of table saws out there. I considered the Bosch 4100 but it was no bigger than my Craftsman. I also considered the Rigid R4512 and Porter-Cable PCB270. The Rigid’s split fence rail design turned me off completely although many say it’s not that big of a ...

It Sucks...And That's a Good Thing

It Sucks...And That's a Good Thing

I’ve had this DC for 9 months now and have emptied the barrel 4 times which should give you an idea how much I use the thing. Another key point about my usage is that I don’t have any ductwork. I connect the DC directly to the tool I am using at the time. I have it hooked up to a 110v 30A outlet which has not tripped during my use. Another reviewer said that this DC could suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch. While that is clearly hyperbole they made the point well. I ha...

When It's Working... It's Great

When It's Working... It's Great

I bought this saw in September 2012 and have used it extensively since then and feel that it’s time for a review, especially after the most recent incident. First of all when the saw is working correctly it is great. I get great looking resaws with both 1/2” and 3/4” blades. I have not used it for many curves such as you would do for a bandsaw box so I won’t evaluate it there. I setup the saw based on the instructions in this video why Grizzly does not outline ...

Grizzly Drum Sander

Grizzly Drum Sander

05-25-2013 11:58 AM by GuyK | 16 comments »

Last Saturday I and about 1000 other woodworkers went to the tent sale at Grizzly in Muncy, Pa. I made a small purchase of some glue and drill bits and just spent most of the time there looking at tools that I didn’t have in the shop. One tool that I looked at while there was the Grizzly G1066Z 24” Drum Sander. I was really impressed by all the features it has and the quality of the tool. After coming back to the shop and discussing with Chairman of the Board ( no not my wife ) th...
