Never again will I trust Grizzly for "Precision" equipment

Never again will I trust Grizzly for "Precision" equipment

I just had the biggest hassle of my life when I got the grizzly 8 inch spiral head dovetail jointer. It took me about three months before I actually got a chance to unpackaged my purchase and then it took me another three days to get all the Schmutz cleaned off of it from the being sent from overseas. I thought to myself boy this is going to be awesome 8 inch helical cutterhead for less than half of the price of a powermatic. Once I finally got the machine set up I put a straight edge on i...

First impressions of the Anniversary Edition G0555 14" Band Saw

First impressions of the Anniversary Edition G0555 14" Band Saw

After nursing along my Dads old Craftsman 12” band saw, I was really looking forward to getting my new saw. After much research and pricing I had settled on the G0555LANV 14” for a number of reasons. It had a 1 HP motor where several others in the price range were 3/4HP. It had a cast iron frame and table instead of cast aluminum and stamped steel. The wheels were cast iron instead of cast aluminum and it had two speeds. But one of it’s biggest selling features to me was the...

Something this heavy should work!

Something this heavy should work!

This is a poorly designed sander. You would think that if a tool weighed as much as a submarine, it would be steady worker, but the Grizzly GO458 takes a break about every 30 minutes and decides to adjust itself where it wants to be.Seriously, it has many design problems. The feed belt will only stay in adjustment while you are watching it. It must be a quantum physics thing. After about a half hour of sanding, when your hands and mind are fixed on keeping it from sniping your work, because the...

Good Value for a Downdraft Sanding table

Good Value for a Downdraft Sanding table

Last year I had a real problem breathing when I had to do prolonged periods of sanding during the winter months with the shop closed up tight to retain heat. I first though about getting a Trend Airshield but the weight sitting on top of my head during use wasn’t very comfortable so I started thinking seriously about a downdraft table. I wanted the Denray brand but the prices were more than I could afford and looked at the Grizzly models. Grizzlys pricing was more affordable and th...

A beautiful piece of machinery

A beautiful piece of machinery

I’m new to posting on this site. When I first got into woodworking, about 2-3 years ago, a coworker loaned me a Shopsmith Mark V from the 1970s. It worked ok for what I was doing, but the tiny table, difficulty in doing bevel cuts, and the fact that the table would lean into the blade if enough weight was put on it led me to the decision to get a different saw for myself. Don’t get me wrong, the Shopsmith is a good product for what it is. It’s a great multi-use product. ...

for $32, can not go wrong

for $32, can not go wrong

I was in need to make 6” and 6 1/4” circles for my dust collection HVAC blast gates and support holders. My Microfence circular router jig CAN go as low as 6”, but I had to install a Bosch router adapter which changes the minimum diameter to 7”. I’ve reviewed other circle cutters and decided on the Grizzly because it looks more “stout” and there are zero reviews I could find so … a crap shoot :) I could of went with a hole saw but that is a f...

UPDATE 1 After one week of use the EXACT same problem I was having with the Ridgid appeared. I’m waiting on Grizzly to see how they handle this situation. The blade misalignment when lowering and raising the blade is worse than it was on the RIDGID. It’s so strange that it takes a few days worth of use for this to show up. The exact same problem with two completely different companies. I’m cursed. I shot a video this time of the problem. You can see it here:https://www.youtu...

So I just purchased my new Grizzly G0715P Hybrid and I absolutely love it. I sold my G1023 left tilt 3 HP. for the money I got this new table saw and lots of accessories. Incra miter gauge 1000 HD, PSI dust hood and collection from PSI woodworking products. Also made new out feed table and project note clipboard as you will see in the pictures. It’s great because you can bring your paperwork with cut list to the table saw and just work without moving away from the saw.The out feed ta...

Very good DC at very affordable price

Very good DC at very affordable price

02-28-2014 05:22 AM by Jesse | 5 comments »

I have been running this dust collector for several months now and have had no issues. The suction is really good, I can have several ports open at one time with no problems. At under $700 it is the same price as the Powermatic 1.75HP machine but with more power and more capacity, I know because I own both machines. The Grizzly is 3HP and has a 7 inch inlet. I don’t like the 7 inch because it is tough to find all the piping for that size but after searching the home improvement stor...
