8 x 72 3HP Jointer from Santa

8 x 72 3HP Jointer from Santa

Santa ( aka Blondie ) was good to me again this year. I have been using a Delta 6 inch Table Top Jointer for yrs. As most of you know that can be a challenge when doing 8 foot boards. After a lot of research we decided on this one with the normal cutter head. Cpl buddies say the Helix can leave lines in the wood. Think this might be myth truthfully, however I can always up grade later if I feel I need to. I have been using the blade method for ever and it has worked fine for me. I thought ...

Grizzly Wood Threading and Die Set

Grizzly Wood Threading and Die Set

I bought this mostly on Price, I check around at other online stores and this appeared to be the cheapest, with that said I couldn’t just walk in the Door and purchase given my location. it was 11.95 for the Tap and 22.95 for the Die. Grizzly of course delivered right away and I got my purchase within the specified time suggested for my Delivery to Alaska. Quality: Tap: the overall quality for the Tap was superb, it had no chips or loose metal ends to clean and was oiled to prevent from...

I have to agree

I have to agree

I just received my Grizzly $140 router table and its all I could ask for after having tried to make my own router table and ending up with a bowed/warped tabletop with no fence. The black powder coated lets and braces were stuck to the paper inserts meant to keep the pieces apart, but I think that is a minor complaint given the value of the overall package. Once put together, I now have a fully functional router table with fence and insert plate. Assembly was very easy. Although it lo...

Grizzly Strikes Again

Grizzly Strikes Again

I have been having trouble breathing this winter while the shop has had the doors and windows closed. Normally, two large drum fans keep a good volume of air going in and out which keeps the dust down. Works well for the warmer months but in the colder months when I have the heat on the dust gets to be a bit much. I thought about an air filter but never got around to ordering one. So, I decided to order a Grizzly G9965 air filter for the shop since they claimed it would change the air in a...

Grizzly GO555LX 14" Deluxe Bandsaw, 1hp TEFC Motor

Absolutely fantastic piece of machinery. I originally purchased a 14” Porter Cable BS from Lowe’s, brought it back the next day, not that it was junk, just limited to 1/2” blades vs 3/4 specialty blades with the Grizzly. This model was their upgrade from the previous G0555 and it was on sale during Christmas. PROS – This BS runs so smooth and quiet, in fact you need to be sure it’s OFF, my RIDGID shop vacuum I hook up to it is louder than this machine. ...

My new G0661 Table Saw

My new G0661 Table Saw

117 days ago by kdc68 | 19 comments »

I have my new Grizzly set up and overall I’ve been pleased with its features and performance. I started out a bit bad because in the box were four right legs instead of two lefts, and two rights. Grizzly sent out the left legs right away, so no big deal. The first project using the saw was the extension table to the right of the blade. Not a lot of cutting, but gave me a feel for it’s operation. My old table saw was a Craftsman 10” that I bought new 20 years ago. I sol...

Here’s my new DC system and includes a Grizzly G0548Z, East Carago Cyclone, Penn State Remote and Blastco Pipes, gates and elbows. System works well, took a few weekends to get it all together. Work flow: Had to install new 220 breaker in the main panel.Needed new wiring and 220 remote contol from Penn State Industries. The remote works very well, no issues. I tape magnets to the remote and attach it to the cyclone or lathe most of the time. The 548 DC itself is very nice...

I just purchased one of these units last week. I haven’t mounted it to the ceiling yet, but I have running at table height for now just to check it out. I had been planning to build my own filter like this, but for the price it was hard to pass up. Building a similar unit from scratch would probably cost close to the same plus the time to round up the components and assemble it. I was pleased with how quiet the unit was for the amount of air it was moving. I have only used it duri...

A Solid Performer

A Solid Performer

‘I should preface this review by disclaiming that I purchased this machine used. The previous owner purchased it from Grizzly 4-5 years ago and claimed to have used it seldomly. However, the 7944 currently listed on Grizzly’s website appears to be identical, with the same specifications. Just sayin ‘ So I’ve had this machine for several weeks now, and have used it with hole saws, forsteners, and HSS metal bits. Here are my thoughts:This drill press is pretty generic...

Dust Collector Grizzly 0548ZP

Well another year has come and gone and I must have been a real good boy this year. Look what Santa brought me! It arrived in 2 boxes early November and sat in my garage until I was allowed to open it on Christmas Day. What a torture and a display in self control that was. I was drooling like a rabid dog, wanting to tear into it and hook it up etc. but my wife said I had to wait till Santa arrived. I still can’ figure that one out. Why would Santa drop off my present in early November j...
