Grizzly Customer Service Review

Grizzly Customer Service Review

12-22-2015 06:37 PM by mpo414 | 13 comments »

I wanted to post a quick review of my recent interactions with Grizzly customer service, not specifically a review on the G0505 12-1/2” Planer because I have not had a chance to use it yet but I thought this information may be helpful to anyone interested. I am giving Grizzly customer service 5 stars. My wife actually ordered me the G0505 planer as a Christmas gift almost two months ago and has been keeping it in hiding since then. Because she could not move it herself I got to see my g...

A worth while track saw consideration

A worth while track saw consideration

There are track saws, and there are track saws. For a $200 estimated price tag, this Grizzly T10687 does it’s job wonderfully. This is similar to Sheppach and other European clones of this economical track saw type, but is Grizzly :) It has a riving knife, it plunges, 9 amp motor, dust port, has a 100% functional depth knob, no wobble in the track. All knobs are plastic, but that hard plastic, not the flimsy type. I can easily plunge it with one hand reaching across 4’ plywoo...

Grizzly G0771 Table Saw

Grizzly G0771 Table Saw

11-26-2015 02:02 AM by EMWW | 8 comments »

Overall I am happy with this saw. I will start with the good aspects of it. It has a decent fence and is fairly accurate once set up properly. The motor is powerful enough to do repeated 2 inch thick cuts in white oak. The blade raises and tilts very well. The saw is built heavy enough to make it run smoothly. And it can be set up 120 or 240. Now onto the cons, The dust collection is horrible. Even with the saw hooked strait up to the dust collector the majority of the dust stays in the cabin...

Bought it less then a year ago. It had to sit in the box for a while while I transferred to a new base. Finally got to set it up which was easy till the test. The blade was off. The side closer to the fence was cutting high. By looking at the instructions I figured it would be easy to adjust. Wrong! The cap screws were frozen. Three of them turned no problem but I couldn’t get the rest to budge. Since it is still under warranty (at the time of writing this) I contacted Grizzly for help....

So far, not real impressed with the whole new Grizzly lathe thing. To began with, it was supposed to come to Clarkston Wa, (300 miles from Seattle). Instead it was miss directed by Fedex and ended up in Denver CO. (900 miles the wrong way!) A week latter I get a beat up box, with a heavily scratched up lathe, ( all the blocking for securing it was broke lose). but as for the mechanical parts, it was or seem to be all in working order. I spent several hours, cleaning, leveling an...

Serious upgrade

Serious upgrade

10-18-2015 12:20 AM by Willowlane | 7 comments »

Purchased this at the PA location during their going out of business sale. The retail price was $545 they sold it to me for $475 since they were clearing out the store. In the past I used a craftsman 10”. This new saw has plenty of power. It is covered in grease and assembly took about an hour. I can’t speak for the factory blade as I replaced it with a Timberwof blade. Cuts are clean and fence & table are sturdy and square. The only complaint I have is how difficu...

Just finished hanging it....

Well my new Grizzly G5072 air filter showed up today and I just finished hanging it.Packaging was in real good shape and the unit itself seems really solid so does the overall quality.I was using a Performax from Menards, but it just was not cutting it. I still had a lot of dust throughout my shop (2 car garage). With the Grizzly I should have a turnover rate of about 20/hr vs the 7/hr with the Performax. The Grizzly is really quite and it is definitely moving a whole bunch of air. You can ...

grizzly 15" disc sander review

grizzly 15" disc sander review

09-14-2015 12:48 PM by pinebeetle23 | 4 comments »

I have had this sander a couple years now. It has plenty of power, haven’t had any mechanical issues. The table is great, heavy and stable (even with an cast iron angle jig on it). The only issues to date has been the paint has peeled and flaked off on part of it, and the latch on the stand door broke. Minor issues only. I previously had a 12” disc that I was not satisfied with. (I do recommend getting Heavier weight discs than the grizzly ones (currently carried by them) I...

Grizzly G0490X 8" Jointer With Helix Cutter Head

Grizzly G0490X 8" Jointer With Helix Cutter Head

09-02-2015 03:24 AM by Kelly | 21 comments »

GRIZZLY G0490X 8” JOINTER After a year of looking for a good jointer and losing out on three nice ones, due to procrastination, I finally bit the bullet and bought a new Grizzly 8” Jointer with the helix head. The model number is G0490X. The X indicates the jointer is equipped with a helix head. Assembled, the jointer is the heaviest tool in my little shop, weighing about five hundred seventy-five pounds. Now that I’ve ran some highly figured walnut through the ...

Grizzly G0555LX - 14" Deluxe Bandsaw - Love it

Grizzly G0555LX - 14" Deluxe Bandsaw - Love it

08-14-2015 12:54 AM by Kurt T. Kneller | 8 comments »

I bought this bandsaw this past spring. I also bought the riser block to obtain a 12” cutting capacity.I really like this saw, it has plenty of power, runs smooth with no vibration. Fit an finish was on the mark and assembly was straight forward. I did have to add shims to the riser block, other than that is has been performing well for me. It has cut everything I have asked it to (and some I didn’t ….. 9 stiches right index finger) from mdf to plywood to oak and I am su...
