Initial impressions of the Grizzly G0572 Hanging Air Filter w/ Remote.

For starters, I am not claiming this is an all inclusive review, but rather this is an initial impressions write up for the Grizzly G0572 Hanging Air Filter w/ remote. I have been watching price tags on these machines for quite some time now, and had considered the smaller Jet, Penn State, Delta, even Harbor Freight models, and had been put off by either the price tag, or the features. The G0572 had the CFM I was looking for, and was on sale for a price tag I was willing to spend. For the ...

Bear of a jointer with grizzly sharp teeth!

Bear of a jointer with grizzly sharp teeth!

I am mainly a cane maker so my wood working techniques or needs don’t require the same as that of a cabinet or furniture maker, but since I do use a LOT of very hard woods (Afromosia, Bloodwood, Cocobolo, Ebony, Jatoba, Osage Orange, Macadamia, Macawood, Padauk, Pink Ivory, Rosewood, Ziricote, etc.). I needed a quality jointer and wanted one with the cutting ability to get a nice smooth surface on these woods, especially the figured ones for my cane work and future furniture projects. ...

Okay I’ve had this little gem for about a year, and I must say it has DRASTICALLY improved my shop! This thing has three settings 556, 702 and 1044 CFM. My shop is 500 sqft with 12 foot tall ceiling, and even the lowest setting clears the air quickly, and it you can even set it to auomatically go off in 1,2,4 hours. Has a 5 mic outer filter to catch the large stuff and a 1 mic inner filter(washable). I never realized how much stuff even a great centeral dust collection system leaves be...

Grizzly G0583Z 1HP Canister Dust Collector

Grizzly G0583Z 1HP Canister Dust Collector

07-23-2010 02:16 AM by Steven H | 8 comments »

Due to Budget and electricity, I am able to purchase 1 HP dust collector.I choose the canister one. It does a good job sucking dust from my Grizzly G055P bandsaw, but I don’t recommend it connecting to table saw, jointer, etc… The collector come with the elbow, try avoid using it. And for the first time visit the local Rockler store I got some Clear Flexible Dust Collection Hose It was on sale . (Note its says online sale only, its not true) Connected to the the col...

Well I finished putting it together yeaterday and tunning it up. It went quite well. I did use the stock blade first. Figured might as well use it for a bit. I put the 1” on it a timberwolf. My first cut was on a small 2×4 to check things for alignment. So for the big test. I took a piece of oak 2×6. I took a 1/2 off of it measured it great cut. Took that piece down to 1/4”, still a good cut. Then took it a little farther took that piece down to 1/16” Same great cu...

Big Bang For Your Buck

Big Bang For Your Buck

I love this machine. I purchased this bandsaw in April 2009. I have put it through it’s paces on numerous projects and use it whenever I can. First Impressions I decided on this particular saw after days of research. I ordered it through the Grizzly website. I was so eager to get it that I ended up picking it up from the shipping depot rather than waiting an extra day for it to be delivered to my house. The trucking company loaded it into my truck with a forklift and I was on...

I finally decided to make the switch to a cabinet saw, thinking maybe magically it would make me a better woodworker? well I think the jury will be out for awhile on that one, but like the tool man Taylor I do have more power! I had it delivered to my local lumber yard, I cant thank them enough for helping me out this way!! I had these visions of my brand new magical saw comming in all dented and broken, but it arrived in great shape, so thanks to all the drivers that cared for my new toy on i...

Two more cents on the Griz 453Z

Two more cents on the Griz 453Z

Just got mine in earlier this week. I’d been using a Delta 13” planer, which was doing a very good job. However, Delta got bought out and no longer produces this planer, so parts will be a problem in the future. Also, I’ve got several hundred board feet of curly maple to work through, and that would overwhelm the Delta. So, I bought the Grizzly. My experience was exactly the same as the previous review, except that my machine arrive without problems. The caster mechani...

First of all, I want to say thanks for the responses to my forum topic http://lumberjocks.com/topics/17579I decided to give them a try because I love the size and feel of these chisels. Grizzly was fast to send them out. The only reason I did not give these chisels 5 stars is because they took a lot of work to flatten and sharpen. The third picture is the worst chisel of the bunch laying on my table saw. I did get it flat and sharpened though. I used the scary sharp method( glass and sand pap...

I am really impressed with this saw

I am really impressed with this saw

I received this saw about two weeks ago. My wife bought it for me as a father’s day gift. It was packed very well, and there were no parts missing. Set up was simple enough. Lifting it was quite a bit of work; as it is a very heavy piece of equipment. I tuned it up in a very short time and was really impressed how quiet it runs. I’ve been reading books and watching videos on bandsaws and it appears to have many features found on much more expensive saws. I think the quality...
