Accurate and Powerful

Accurate and Powerful

I had this machine shipped from Grizzly several months ago. The shipping was timely arriving in just three business days! The machine was everything I hoped for. The tables were dead flat. They adjusted to absolute coplanar. And the machine was very powerful. I had an 1×8” hard maple board set aside just to test this machine and it trued it lickety split. I’ve been using it for months now and am very happy with this purchase. It trues up stock square and smoot...

Outstanding Jointer

Outstanding Jointer

Got this last week. Arrived in perfect condition, the base in its own box and the upper part in a birch plywood crate. No issues at all with assembly. Used the recommended plug and fired it up. Had to call to find out what the belt deflection was supposed to be cause the manual was a bit older. This thing is a beast. My first use of the machine resulted in a rather pleasant result. I face jointed/planed a 8” wide board of ash which was not flat at all. I fed it through the helical cutter...

Air Filter

Air Filter

1196 days ago by David Murray | 6 comments »

I finally took the plunge and bought an air filter unit for my shop. It was a purchase that I didn’t put on a very high priority. My thinking was “It really isn’t really a tool”, after all you can’t cut, shape, grind, drill or sand with it. After all I have a dust collector what more do I need. I always figured the fine dust that was always collecting on everything was okay, after this is a woodworking shop. Then I read a few articles on the long term health haza...

Wow what a saw!

Wow what a saw!

This was my first purchase from Grizzly Industrial. So far I have no complaints. I ordered the bandsaw on Friday and picked it up at the terminal this morning. The box only had to small damages to the cardboard, only on the outer layer of cardboard. I opened the box and everything was packed very nicely and tightly in styrofoam. I had to tilt the box on its edge to get the bandsaw out, I could not lift it out. I unpacked everything and inspected all the parts and the bolts and nuts. Al...

Good for short term use. Lousy materials.

Good for short term use. Lousy materials.

My Grizzly H7827 Drill Press Table is a little over a year old now, and it is useless. Well not exactly…There ARE some useful parts on it, knobs, thread inserts, T track and suck, but the main material, the melamine coated, well I guess it is supposed to be MDF, but this stuff seems more like compressed cardboard than MDF… The thread inserts that hold it down to the cast iron DP table simply fall out of the pressboard given any longish term exposure to humid environments, like,...

Good product, but need beter quality controls

Good product, but need beter quality controls

In my quest to become a better woodworker, i decided it was time to purchase some tools to upgrade my shop (aka Garage). With a few projects under my belt, i decided to quit paying the local Big Box astronomical prices for their s4s lumber and go and get myself a jointer and planer. After browsing numerous sites and reading reviews i opted for the Grizzly GO452 and GO505 would fit my needs as a beginner woodworker. This review will be only of the G0452 jointer as i have yet to put the plan...

Planer - Economic in cost, Industrial in performance

Planer - Economic in cost, Industrial in performance

1233 days ago by Troy | 10 comments »

I got this planer a few months ago mainly cause I really needed to upgrade from a bench top model I had (Dewalt). My shop has a 100 amp service subpanel and I left room for it at the first drop for my DC.It came in a decent crate, which had minor damage, but prevented any issues on the machine. The control panel outer cover had a ding for some reason, but it gave it character, so I don’t mind. There was a ton of packing grease on every single moving part. While reassuring that the parts ...

Great Lathe for the money

Great Lathe for the money

A review of the Grizzly G0462 lathe was provided to this website about 10 months ago. I am sure that the author provided an honest assessment of his experiences with this lathe. However, my experiences have been different and I am providing a review based on my experiences with the same lathe. If you simply review the specifications and features, I think anyone would agree that this is a lot of lathe for the money. I paid $475 for this lathe and, at the time, Grizzly was offering fr...

New Grizzly G0457 Resaw Bandsaw

New Grizzly G0457 Resaw Bandsaw

1240 days ago by michaelray | 29 comments »

Let me start by saying this is the first bandsaw I have ever owned and operated so I don’t have any past experiences to compare it to. I decided about 6-7 months ago my next major tool purchase had to be a bandsaw. Since that decision I’ve been reading and reviewing not to mention saving money. There were a couple deciding factors that led me to this model. Reviews – both by fellow LJ’s (thanks to you all) and to FWW magazine. Price – I took advantage of the late...

This is what my wife got me for xmas, I guess I was a good boy this year. I have not seen a table saw built so heavy and nice as this since I was in High School woodshop in 1978. Wow and it cuts straight right out of the box. I have not used the router table yet I still need to buy a router. I would highly recomend this saw to anyone who wants a great saw at a great price.
