Dust Collector Grizzly 0548ZP

Well another year has come and gone and I must have been a real good boy this year. Look what Santa brought me! It arrived in 2 boxes early November and sat in my garage until I was allowed to open it on Christmas Day. What a torture and a display in self control that was. I was drooling like a rabid dog, wanting to tear into it and hook it up etc. but my wife said I had to wait till Santa arrived. I still can’ figure that one out. Why would Santa drop off my present in early November j...

G1023RLW after a year and a few projects...

I purchased this G1023RLW back in October 2010. After a few back-orders I finally received the saw December 2010. Now, I purchased this saw because I was in the process of purchasing a house and we were only weeks away from closing and I figured that by the time the saw ships, I’d be moved in… WELLLL, long story short and nearly a year later and almost 10 offers on 10 other homes later we ended up closing August 2011 on the ONLY “traditional sale” in my area. Since th...

Grizzly G0738 dust removal unit (for small shops)

Grizzly G0738 dust removal unit (for small shops)

I had been looking into air dust collection for a while now. My shop is too small for a stand-alone unit, and my ceilings are only about 7’, so short of cutting a hole in the wall for some kind of exhaust, even when the big door is open it can get dusty in the work area, which is deep into the shop. And I was not enthused with the less expensive 5 micron bag units, too much stuff still floating around. When I saw these, I added up my time and cost to buy the filters, build the box, buy ...

Grizzly G1023RL Review/Opinion

Grizzly G1023RL Review/Opinion

I purchased this cabinet saw in February and over the months I have come to some opinions about the saw in general. I thought a review might be in order. Overall, I was quite pleased with the packaging and the instruction manual. Once out of the shipping container, I was able to easily find the parts and assemble them. I remember I had the saw up and running in less than 2 hours. I use the saw as a dedicated rip saw only and it performs well cutting 8/4 maple, mahogany cherry and walnut...

Grizzly G0675 10" Jointer/Planer Combo Review

Grizzly G0675 10" Jointer/Planer Combo Review

09-25-2012 05:08 PM by earik | 13 comments »

Hi Everyone, I’ve spent a lot of time reading posts on this site and making use of the many reviews here, and wanted to post my experience with the new Grizzly 10” jointer/planer combo since there are still not a lot of reviews on these yet. I bought this piece of equipment a couple months back without having owned any previous Grizzly tools, and based a lot of my decision on the tons of positive reviews I’ve heard about Grizzly, especially in the customer service departm...

A Great Saw...But Fence is lacking

A Great Saw...But Fence is lacking

My first shop was on the balcony of a small apartment – and it started with a Bosch jobsite table saw. A worthy table saw for my first, but finally last year I decided to get serious with my shop and after much research, purchased a Grizzly G0715P Hybrid table saw. First Impressions – excitement! From jobsite saw to a 2HP, cast iron top, full size table, I couldn’t be happier. After initial assembly and alignment I couldn’t wait to make some cuts. The saw did not di...

G0703P - Ignore the naysayers

Hello All, I finally upgraded to a better DC system for my shop. I had previously built a Thien Baffle for my HF DC and that worked pretty well (better than the stock HF DC) but I still had fine dust everywhere. I sold that DC before I moved last year. In setting up my new shop I decided to treat myself so I started the hunt, I knew I wanted a Cyclone from past research and I also knew the size of the duct had a large part to play in its efficiency. I did a good amount of research and n...

Grizzly G0609X 12" Jointer

Grizzly G0609X 12" Jointer

It was time to upgrade my 6” Delta jointer, which has served me well for 4 years. I was planning to go with an 8” but decided to go ahead and get the 12”. This is my first Grizzly tool and so far it seems to be worth the money spent. A1Jim done a good review on this jointer so I am not going to rehash the same info. I will go over a few issues I had with mine. - Fit and finish is good, not great. It’s heavy, it’s quite, hey it’s a bear.- The table faces and the fence face were very nice...

Here I go again-with Grizzly

Here I go again-with Grizzly

Finally pulling the trigger on a new, 17” bandsaw for my larger jewelry box line shaped like the instruments I build, I had to wait a few weeks for my saw. Finally arriving at my day job for unloading, crate and all were carefully inserted onto skids into my Chevy Suburban by 6 guys so I could take it home. Friday the 13th of July I carefully slid it out with the help of my John Deere and some oak ramps, and carefully soon had it upright, unpacked, and finally in position in my shop. N...

Review and Testing of a G0440 Cyclone Dust Collector

Review and Testing of a G0440 Cyclone Dust Collector

I will start by saying that I am new to LumberJocks. This is my first post and my first tool review. Like many woodworkers, I have a well equipped shop. Also like many woodworkers, I left dust collection until last. This is an unfortunate. I now realize that dust collection should be one of the first things you should consider as soon as you purchase that first tool. As much as you would like to purchase more tools to do more things, a dust collector should be considered after purchasin...
