Happy, after some difficulties

Happy, after some difficulties

Had some difficulty obtaining the saw from UPS freight, Grizzly’s chosen freight provider, at least in my area. UPS could not deliver because:Day 1: I could not be home from 7:30 to 6:00 waiting for delivery, I had to be out for 3 hours that day.Day 2. It was snowingDay 3. It might snowDay 4. Tailgate brokenDay 5. Turbos on truck brokenFinally the saw was delivered. As difficult as UPS freight is to deal with their drivers are TERRIFIC. I gave the driver a hefty tip for rolling it into the...

Finally went and done it

Finally went and done it

I finally went and done it. My R4512 finally stopped making good cuts so I got a Grizzly. I am SOOOOOOO impressed with this saw. Came with out a scratch on it. Easy to set up (with help). It was aligned right out of the box. The hardest part was getting it to my shop. It weighs 300 lbs in the box. Got an appliance dolly and a great big friend to help me move it. Made several cuts with it today. They were perfect. If you are thinking about an up grade, this is a really good deal.

Grizzly G0690 Tablesaw Review

Grizzly G0690 Tablesaw Review

09-16-2017 06:43 AM by unclearthur | 11 comments »

Pros:- Grizzly customer service is unfailingly polite- I learned a lot about tablesaws. Nothing like taking one apart to learn how they operate.- I’ve got a lot of practice using my bandsaw- adrenalin rush when you realize you’ve switched off the saw but the blade isn’t stopping! Cons:- brand new Grizzly G0690 tablesaw was unsafe to use- 2 months of wasted time - Having to return the 500 lb saw at my own time and expense to Grizzly Much of this saga is told in real...

my experience with Grizzly g0555Lx

my experience with Grizzly g0555Lx

I purchased the Griazzly and was excited when it arrived and was set-up per instructions. I wanted this model because it ranged 1/8” to 3/4” blades. I do alot of smaller pieces, so having the 1/8” was a large part of making final decision. That’s when problems started piling up. I could not get the 1/8” blade to track, even after the tech support told me to take sandpaper to a perfectly good tire. The manual clearly says all calibrations are done at the shop...

Getting on the G0771z Bandwagon

Getting on the G0771z Bandwagon

I lurked for months on Lumberjocks before making this purchase. Always the researcher, I had my reservations about some of the QC and manufacture complaints. I feel comfortable saying—as seems the consensus—the G0771z is a good bargain. I don’t think you’ll find a better saw for the money, and with the Z model, released at some point last year, you get the T-style B-meyer fence (the fence face does have 3 total tracks—2 on the face and one on the top). That was o...

Grizzly Table Saw, best birthday present ever

Grizzly Table Saw, best birthday present ever

Turning 60 this year and the little lady read my wish list and I got the cabinet saw I’ve wanted for the past 30 years. Truly a compromise on some level but for me the value is extraordinary given the Grizzly price and the small differences that I as a hobby woodworker will never miss. I actually went to Springfield MO to see it in person and am glad I did. The saw was outstanding but the mobile base was awkward and not very mobile . . . but I needed it to be. Grizzly shipping and U...

Grizzly G0771Z

Grizzly G0771Z

Hey everyone. I just received my Grizzly G0771Z yesterday and I felt that I should add my experience to the forum. First of all, delivery went just fine (ordered Monday, received next Monday). The driver was willing to pull it into my garage for me. (not a long driveway though) There were a number of cuts and punctures in the cardboard on both the main saw and the fence packages. I noted them on the receipt and took pictures. I went ahead and opened up the packages and everything looked...

Grizzly Adjustable Mobile Base

Grizzly Adjustable Mobile Base

08-13-2017 06:11 PM by Kelly | 1 comment »

I bought this to put under my Powermatic edge sander. Here are my observations regarding its assembly and use: PRO’s: 1) The edge sander I used this under is now VERY easy to move. Much more so than when I had a home made, wood base (with good casters), which raised the unit up several inches. 2) The base design raises the tool only enough to allow the wheels to roll freely, so it doesn’t raise the center of gravity a great deal. 3) The locking mechanism i...

A very affordable, functional base with below average fit and finish

A very affordable, functional base with below average fit and finish

I recently acquired my first cabinet saw – a ~10 year old 3hp industrial SawStop. Its a heavy beast, somewhere north of 500lbs. I need to be able to move it around occasionally, so I’ve been on the hunt for a mobile base for it. I looked at the SawStop mobile base and it looked amazing, but $300+ was out of my budget, which was near empty after buying the saw. So I’d been on the lookout for a less costly mobile base. Last week, I got the weekly email from Grizzly.co...

Budget spiral cutterhead upgrade for 6" jointer

Budget spiral cutterhead upgrade for 6" jointer

06-20-2017 03:44 AM by Mike_D_S | 8 comments »

Short story: Fits Delta 37-190, easy to install. Only put about 20 bf across it so far, but cut quality is very good. I’m giving it five stars due to the cut quality, but the instructions were marginal but usable. Long Story:I’ve been wanting to upgrade my jointer to a spiral head for a while, but couldn’t bring myself to drop the nearly $400 on my older Delta 37-190. The Delta is a quality machine and with a few minor tweaks around adding a port for dust collection, I...
