Grizzly G0593 8" Jointer with Spiral Cutter-head

Grizzly G0593 8" Jointer with Spiral Cutter-head

This review is going to be a little different. (I am in a good mood)I decided that after years of doing it by hand, that it was time to buy a good jointer. As I have stated before, I am a little obsessive when it comes to buying a high priced tool. If it is something I can lay my hands on and look at, I usually have no problem just pulling the trigger and buying it. But when it comes to ordering a tool I have never seen/touched or used, and then giving the lady/man on the other end of the pho...

What did I get myself into?

What did I get myself into?

I recently sold my 15-year old Jet contractors saw on Craigslist with the intention of upgrading to Grizzly’s new hybrid saw. I was tired of the extraneous sawdust the Jet produced even though I had the saw connected to a 2 HP Grizzly dust collector. Other than that, the Jet came perfectly set up, and I never had to make any adjustments through its 15 years of dedicated service. I received the new Grizzly G0715P this past Tuesday, and had a neighbor assist me in locating it to my b...

Review of the Grizzly G1023SL Cabinet Style Table Saw

Review of the Grizzly G1023SL Cabinet Style Table Saw

1953 days ago by Mark A. DeCou | 10 comments »

To put it bluntly, I love this Saw. Not, “Love” in the same sense as the way I feel for my wife, or my kids, or my dog, but this Saw is great. I was quite reluctant to buy it frankly. At the time, I had recently quit a job teaching woodworking where I was able to use a Powermatic Cabinet Saw that was about 20 years old, and I also loved that Saw. When I decided to buy my own Table Saw after leaving that job, I had to decide what to get. I didn’t have any money, an...

Grizzly "Knife" Belt Sander - Model G1015

Grizzly "Knife" Belt Sander - Model G1015

I’ve often wished I had a narrow belt sander for finish details on some of my projects and for free hand shaping. My old 10” Delta band saw had a belt sander attachment kit that I used a few times. It worked fairly well, but was cumbersome and took a lot of time to change over, so it got little use. But, it did the job when I really needed it to. I’ve also used my jig saw with a narrow sanding plate mounted in it for some work and that works all right, but not well. The...

Grizzly G0691 Table Saw

Grizzly G0691 Table Saw

1401 days ago by stitchop | 30 comments »

I have assembled my new G0691 Grizzly table saw, and made a few cuts, and will post my first impressions.I purchased this saw as soon as Grizzly put free shipping on it. This saw is replacing a 11 year old Craftsman contractor saw, and I expect it to be the last table saw I ever buy. .... Unpacking and assembly of the saw was a simple matter of following simple instuctions. All the parts were present and easily identified. The assembly starts with removing a brace from the tunnions. This ...

My New Grizzly G0715P Table Saw

My New Grizzly G0715P Table Saw

I received my saw 4 days after placing the order and am very pleased with this product! With the help of Ellen35, I assembled the mobile base and got the saw up and running with very few set-backs. The hardest part was getting the saw from the driveway down into my basement shop! The Shop Fox mobile base is very sturdy and makes moving it a breeze. The wings were installed without much effort and the table is dead flat. The only problem with installing the rails wasn’t noticed unt...

G0513X2 17" Bandsaw

G0513X2 17" Bandsaw

This will be kind of a “Duel” review….One over the G0513X2 17” Bandsaw, and one over Grizzly’s customer service. I received the Bandsaw several weeks ago, but because I had been so busy….I did not have time to even un-crate it. It stood in the corner of my shop for about a week and a half before I could even open it up and start to put it together. I opened up the saw, looked it all over….no scratches, dents, blems etc..so we’re off to a goo...

I Can't Imagine It Gets Much Better Than This

I Can't Imagine It Gets Much Better Than This

I have been wanting to get a wet grinder for a while now, after watching the Woodwhisperer and MLW videos on sharpening with them (TWW used the Jet, Tommy used the Tormek). Both of those machines were way out of my budget (especially the Tormek), so I was going to resign myself to scary sharp until I found the Grizzly T10010. Unfortunately, there are extremely few reviews of it around the net, so I was unsure of whether to get it or not. Well, Grizzly is having their holiday sale right now...

Grizzly G0513X2 17" Bandsaw 2HP w/Cast Iron Trunnion

Grizzly G0513X2 17" Bandsaw 2HP w/Cast Iron Trunnion

Just received this on Monday. It came via UPS Freight, and I paid $39 extra for the lift gate service. I highly recommend this service since this saw is a beast! 1. It came in one of flimsiest ‘crates’, if you can call it that, that I have ever seen. This saw weighs in at 325 pounds, more like 425 pounds, and this crate was built for maybe 200 pounds max. 2. The email instructions tell you to inspect the crate for damage before signing. I did this, saw nothing, and sig...
