Bosch 4100 left and rear extensions

Bosch 4100 left and rear extensions

69 days ago by Holbs | 7 comments »

Wish I had known about these accessories sooner! For the last year, using the bosch 4100 table saw has been great, but these support extensions make me feel much more safer. These 2 extensions are a must have for the few left out there that use the bosch 4100. Granted, these supports do not replace TRUE structure table outfeed supports but for what it is, they are highly acceptable and affordable ($27 each?).

Brand new Bosch semi auto vacuum VAC090s

Brand new Bosch semi auto vacuum VAC090s

98 days ago by Jonwilliam | 2 comments »

I had some discretionary money to “invest” in a new tool and I settled on a vacuum. It was between the Festool ct 26-36 or the new Bosch line of vacuums. Vac140a/s, Vac140a/s. The “a” is for auto, the “s” is for semi-auto filter cleaning. I had to make a decision quick due to festool’s price increases the first of this month. So since I am also in construction (excavating) I went with the Bosch and so far am very pleased. I already have a grea...

Another bad bosch router product

Another bad bosch router product

What the heck. For a company that makes such a good router their accessories suck. I used this template guide for maybe 2 feet cutting out miter slots on my new outfeed table see here and the collet snapped off of the plate. It took a nice chunk out of my carbide upcut spiral bit. I will be contacting bosch to see if I can get some compensation. If they make good on it I will let you know. If I don’t update this assume they suck still.

Bosch 5" Variable Speed Orbital Sander

Bosch 5" Variable Speed Orbital Sander

149 days ago by PaulLL | 15 comments »

I got a side job refinishing the slabs in the picture. They are stair treads going on a steel staircase that I built at my day job. 16 of them that our original finisher messed up with a crappy faux finish white wash, instead of the faux limed oak look that it was supposed to have. I was using my 5” King orbital to sand off the white but “unfortunately” is took a spill off my bench. So I checked my Popular Mechanic stack, remembering there was a sander ranking in one of ...

Ultimate in accuracy and space savings

Ultimate in accuracy and space savings

I purchased the Bosch axial glide 10” dual bevel miter saw to replace a 20 year old Makita that I just plain wore out. I really wanted to increase the capacity of my miter saw for years but didn’t want to expand the depth of my cut off table and give up valuable floor space. Then the 12” axial glide was released a few years back. Again, I wanted to stay with a 10” saw because of the investment already made in 10” saw blades, all my blades are Forrest and all my s...

Not impressed

Not impressed

I purchased this bit because it had three cutters on each blade. It also promised to be a decent bit because of being adjustable. Well not quite what I thought. After 10 feet of tongue cutting one of the carbide tips snapped in half. My 5 year old was in the garage so fortunately it didn’t get him. Usually if carbide fails it detaches completely. This tooth literally cracked in half. In short go with another brand. It will be getting returned

Santa helped make up my mind for me this year.

Santa helped make up my mind for me this year.

I’m the type of guy that looks at something forever before actually buying it. The plunge base for my Bosch Colt trim router is no different. Thankfully I have a wife that works hand-in-hand with Santa and together they made the choice for me. Out of the box, the plunge base’s fit and finish is spot on and the feel is solid and comfortable in the hand. I immediately took it out to the shop for a test run on a project I’m working on. The motor slides into the plunge ba...

Best sander I have ever used

Best sander I have ever used

This is truly a 5 star sander (unfortunately with a 5 star price to boot). I’ve always been an ROS guy but never able to get a mirror smooth finish without some hand touch-up in certain areas. This sander delivers! The Good Overall Construction This sander is well built. It’s heavy, yet ergonomically pleasing. The front handle comes off if need be. It is solid, quiet, and vibration free. It comes with a dust port fitting, or a dust collection tube with a filter inside (that ...

Bosch CS10 Circular Saw

Bosch CS10 Circular Saw

284 days ago by redSLED | 5 comments »

This is a review on Bosch’s CS10 circ. saw w.r.t. a major design flaw, IMO, that I felt was significant enough to post here, so others don’t waste their time and money on this product. So this is not an in-depth review of using the saw over a 6 month period. Basically I first chose to buy this saw because it is often on sale for $99. at a lot of big box/hardware stores, plus on a lot of carpentry website forums many have noted Bosch’s durability and reliability (almost alway...

It's a good saw for it's intended use.

It's a good saw for it's intended use.

Ok, I bought one of these. It was a temporary saw and never intended to be my main saw. It is has a certain cool factor to it too. I think this is a great saw for a person who does floor installs and other small on the job carpentry work. All of the accessories are easy to access and held in place quite well. The fence worked, it came with a push stick and a miter but lets face it, a miter fence on most saws is not a top line item and it’s true in this case too. I originally bought this ...
