Bosch Table Saw

Bosch Table Saw

21 days ago by Tony Z | 7 comments »

This saw is great. I needed a portable saw that was accurate and this fit the bill. All I can say is BUY THIS SAW if you are in the market for something portable. It has everything you want in a table saw. Dust collection is good with a shop vac and I like that the miter gauge is full size and not a ‘mini’ one that come with most portable saws. The fence is aluminum with built in T-track which is very nice. It’s quiet and has a soft-start. I was especially impressed with t...

A Very Nice Surprise

A Very Nice Surprise

41 days ago by USCJeff | 6 comments »

I recently got one of the PS40-2 Impactors as a freebie from a WoodSmith Tip they picked up of mine. I felt I owed it to Bosch (and August Home Publishing) to let my fellow jocks here about the product. I just got it three days ago so I’ll preface all by saying that I obviously am speaking from first and very limited impressions. This is the first impact driver I’ve used. I’ve picked it up at Lowe’s a dozen times and thought it was very small and possibly very...

Bosch 1617EVS 2.25 HP Variable Speed Router

Bosch 1617EVS 2.25 HP Variable Speed Router

80 days ago by Tim from Iowa City | 15 comments »

Introduction – After 20+ years of woodworking, I have discovered a couple important facts about routers – safety is very important and it is convenient to have more than one router. I have had the opportunity to use a number of branded routers, with my favorite two being Porter-Cable and Bosch. This review discusses the Bosch 1617EVS 2.25 HP Variable Speed Router. My priorities included safety, accurate/efficient cuts, performance, quality components, functionality, size, and price. I am ...

Outstanding.

Outstanding.

I was smitten with this little baby the first minute using it. I have gone thru three finish sanders; a cheapy from Harbor Freight, a Porter Cable, and most recently, a Craftsman, after only about a year. My wife said, “Why don’t you buy the best one, since you do so much sanding?” – which made sense. So, I did some research, including a recent FWW article, and decided on this Bosch. I paid about $70 at Lowe’s. As I said, right after starting ‘er up, ...

5 Stars for the Application!

5 Stars for the Application!

113 days ago by PurpLev | 3 comments »

I definitely give this one 5 stars, but this is specific of the application – it being portable. If I was comparing it with other Hybrid saws, than this one doesn’t really compare when it comes to power. That being said. I was shopping for a table saw, after many years of working with a circular saw, and a straight edge – for me – it was time to get a setup for repetitive cuts that would be easier, and less time consuming (not to mention more precise, as the machine...

G reat little impact driver - Bosch PS40-2

G reat little impact driver - Bosch PS40-2

119 days ago by GaryK | 13 comments »

I was looking for a small driver so that I wouldn’t keep having to swap bits out in my drill. I wasn’t really looking for an impact driver, but then I found about the rebate Bosch is currently having. Buy an impact driver and get a PS20 (non-impact version) for free. Now it doesn’t include a battery but the PS40 does include 2. So now I get both for the price of one. I got it for the out the door price of $142. How does it perform? Well, I drove a #8×3” deck...

A real nice 5" ROS sander

A real nice 5" ROS sander

162 days ago by GaryK | 11 comments »

I was in Lowes the other day looking for substitutes items for which I usually buy Porter-Cable (PC). Now that PC is owned by Black & Decker I expect they will go downhill soon. The items I usually get are Routers and Random Orbit Sanders. I started looking at the Bosch for the ROS and noticed the ROS20VSK. It had a price of $70 so I picked it upto check it out and it has a price reduced tag on it for $45. Well, I couldn’t pass up 31.5% off. BADIt doesn’t seem quite as p...

Bosch Jigsaw 1590EVSK - It is a sweet tool

Bosch Jigsaw 1590EVSK - It is a sweet tool

220 days ago by SPalm | 13 comments »

This is one of the best tools I think I have bought. I had a cheap Sears jigsaw for years and only used it when I had to. This baby is a joy to use. The T-style blades are just clipped in place and eject with the press of a button. Blade changing is almost fun, no more allen wrenches. The variable speed trigger is very easy to control. The blade rides up and down guided by a set of V shaped ball bearings which hold the blade true (these can be flipped out of the way if wanted). The pow...

Not bad, Not Great

Not bad, Not Great

For a few years I made do with a ryobi plunge router. In fact it’s still going strong, but the time came for an upgrade. I knew I wanted a kit, that way I could put the fixed base under the router table and just switch the motor over. The plan was to make some rail and stile doors so I figured on at least a 2hp router. In doing the research it seemed like this router and the dewalt were fairly close. I wasn’t planing on doing much template routing and actually liked the feel...

Bosch Pocket Driver Packs a Punch

Bosch Pocket Driver Packs a Punch

255 days ago by Blake | 11 comments »

I really like my new pocket driver. Bosch has reinvented the cordless driver, and it leaves nothing to be desired. The way it fits in your hand makes you feel like a cowboy. No kidding. It really makes it want to practice your quick-draw. Due to it’s Li Ion battery it only weighs 4.88 lbs but delivers 80 in.-lbs. of Torque with a variable speed trigger. The LED light is the icing on the cake. I like my heavy duty DeWalt 14v cordless drill for boring holes but sometimes I go back a...
