When I first looked at this book, it was being touted at the end-all, be-all book of workbenches. Now, in all honesty, I don’t know about that. However, I do know that it is one of the most essential books out there for designing a workbench. This is a great DVD, although the title is, in my opinion, a little misleading. I would instead title this work, Forgotten Hand Tool Skills and Techniques. In this DVD, Schwarz focuses on three skills/techniques: (1) gimlets, hammers, and nails (i.e., using the correct type of nails as fasteners); (2) drawboring; and (3) handsawing (and using a shooting board).
