New Craftsman 10" Table Saw 21833

I got this saw last weekend and I finally had a chance to put it together and I do have to say I am excited. I had an old craftsman little contractor saw with the weird miter slots and the underpowered motor, which wasn’t very accurate. This new saw, (after spending 6 hours assembling and aligning it, and help from 3 people to flip it over) work amazing. I get nice clean and accurate cuts, (with a new blade and not the one that it came with). The fence is solid and accurate with the ta...

Craftsman 10” Table Saw with Laser Trac® (21807) (In Canada – CRAFTSMAN®/MD Limited Edition 10’’ Table Saw with Stand – item 097 827 835 10) I’ve been meaning to type this up for a while but haven’t gotten around to it. After seeing another forum inquiring about a problem with the tablesaw I decided to stop slacking and get this done. The saw itself has decent power and will cut through 2 inches of hard maple without too much trouble as long as you go slow. It co...

Little to no runout in a compact heavy duty vintage package. It buffs good at high speed. It also has been my primary wood drill press for about a year now. :-D

I own only two newer craftsman tools. One is a 4” grinder that has lasted me 4 years after makita’s and dewalts burned out after about a year each. Go figure. And this little compressor that has been stellar..I’ve been wanting to give this little compressor it’s due for some time now as I’ve had tons of experience with it. .This compressor is now rated at 1 hp. Mine was labeled 1.5 hp. I think though that they are the same item. The hp must have been reassessed o...

Worst money I ever spent.

Worst money I ever spent.

I know the picture is of a grizzly item but they are both the same thing. All of the parts are interchangeable. So what did I like best about this item…selling it for a loss. At least the guy who bought helped drag the piece of stuff out of the basement. I told him it was finicky about power and he would need a cooling fan for the motor. I think the longest it ran before the motor tripped on an overheat was about 15 minutes and I was hardly sanding the wood. This has to be the most disap...

I just picked this up yesterday. I have been previously using the 10” version but have been looking to upgrade to a 14”. I have been very happy with the 10” and think everything about the fit, finish and performance is great (within its 1/3 hp capacity). I been watching craigslist (Chicago area) and good 14” saw at a good price have been fairly elusive. I stumbled upon searsoutlet.com which lists all their returns/refurbs/open box items. They had this one at 279.00 plu...

Decent Set for occasional use

Decent Set for occasional use

I have had this set for a couple of years and used maybe a quarter of the bits. Like other have said not the best way to spend money, it’s better to buy individual or small sets of high quality bits. I realized this after buying some freud, whiteside, and amana bits. The case that the bits come in is nice and it hangs on the wall nicely and look impressive. The downside is the bits are a challenge to get out, work gloves and taking the case off the wall are generally necessary. T...

-My rating is mostly based on Price and build Quality. -These are first impressions only. I will report back after a while of use. -Notice from the pics, the similarities of the Professional model and regular. I’ve basically been out of the woodworking game this whole past year. I restored a Belsaw-Foley planer (craftsman branded) and not much else. Unfortunately, I sold the planer for peanuts, and I ended up selling a bunch of my other tools. I actually have done more to...

I’ve had this saw for over 2 years and I thought it deserved a long-term review. It’s a decent performer that’s great for light-duty and the not so precision-intense projects. I’ll try to go over everything that my current knowledge will allow me to. Be aware that this is my first review! Out of the box everything went together nice and easy. There’s not much assembly required and if you’re a keen mechanic or builder you should have everything sorted out...

First off, writing this review to me is like admitting in front of all my friends that I bought and really like the new Justin Bieber album. It’s a “piece of crap direct drive tiny useless toy”. I have actually said those words to other people considering this. So why did I get it? Well for one, I have grown to like handtools. I don’t have room for another giant (expensive) 220v power hungry piece of cast iron. I have a few planes including a stanley jointer and I a...
