Craftsman Professional 10inch Table Saw

Craftsman Professional 10inch Table Saw

1908 days ago by Splinters | 9 comments »

I have always liked Craftsman brand tools..so when it came time to look for a table saw that is where I went. I caught this saw on sale and was able to spread the payments interest free over a year. Sale price was around $950. It lists for around $1100. The only thing I have added to it is a movable base. It is a very solid machine and took four guys to unload it from the trailer. It is a very strong smooth running saw. It came with a Biesemeyer fence system, which is a real gem. Nice h...

Hi lumber jocks!! I got some great news!! I got a used 12’’ bandsaw!! I found it on cregslist for $85 great deal don’t you think. We brought the saw home and set it up in the garage and did some test cuts, gave the blade guards some adjustment and the saw did great in the test!! The saw has a 7’’ 1/2’’ cutting capacity. And has a powerful 1/2 hp motor. The fence is very nice, but it appears that the table is mounted backwards because the adjustment ha...

Craftsman Tool Storage (or I can do it by myself)

Craftsman Tool Storage (or I can do it by myself)

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_009H0027000B?vName=Tools&cName=Garage I have been “making do” with a Craftsman 26” x 16” rolling cabinet and 26” x 12 tool chest that was purchased in 1971 but, decided that after 38 years it was time for more tool storage. Initially looked at some of the stainless tool cabinets at both Sears and Lowe’s but finally selected the Craftsman 40” wide black steel set listed above because the 1971 Craftsman s...

More Than Worth the Money

More Than Worth the Money

While wandering through Lowe’s, I saw this bad boy just sitting there with a $30 price tag. Since I found myself in no position to own a table saw for the foreseeable future, it looked like it would solve one of my biggest problems: how to rip boards down. The Accu-Rip attaches to your circular saw with two small screws located at the front of the guide. It takes a bit of time to get it set right, because it’s edge must line up with the blade just so, but once it does, it wo...

Great Mortiser - Wow, makes square holes!

Great Mortiser - Wow, makes square holes!

837 days ago by Terry Burks | 12 comments »

After recently completing a project that required creating more than 20 mortises using a drill press and chisels, I decided it was time to seriously consider getting a bench top mortiser. After reading a number of reviews online, I visited my local Woodcraft store and looked at the Jet, Delta and Shop Fox models they had on display. Based on what I saw, discussions with the salesman, features and price, I decided that the Delta was the best they had. I was told that upcoming sales would br...

Sears Contractor Saw 21833

Sears Contractor Saw 21833

859 days ago by GeorgeK | 14 comments »

I think I’ve read most of the postings on the 21833. Picked mine up today. Based on what I’d read I expected a big forklift or crane to appear but there was just this little guy pushing a hand truck. He and a buddy pushed it up on the trailer and away we went. Off loading it was a breeze. Backed it up to my shop door and a couple of us carefully lowered it to my hand truck and wheeled it into the shop. Getting all the parts out of the box was a pain because you have to break up...

Great features, Horrible Alignment Issues

Great features, Horrible Alignment Issues

1201 days ago by bobthebuilderinmichigan | 36 comments »

I was very impressed with the Craftsman 21833 Contractors Table Saw when I saw it in the store. It had many features found on more expensive models – i.e. the motor is 1 3/4 hp and is fully enclosed and quiet with good dust collection. However, all of that becomes worthless if you can’t align the blade to the miter slots. Mine came 1/8” out of alignment! Turns out, the trunion bolt holes aren’t drilled precisely because despite loosening them and knocking the truni...

Great accessory for the shop

Great accessory for the shop

I often make furniture for my home and family. I have a larger miter saw but it is too big and heavy to easily move around and I have a small shop space to deal with. I had an old 8-1/4 Delta miter saw that died after 20 years of faithful service that I would often pull out to use, instead of the 12 incher. I missed that little guy and saw the Craftsman 7-1/4 sliding miter on sale for 99.00. It is usually about 169.00. The small blade is fine for one inch material that I usually use and it wi...

16" Variable Speed Scroll Saw

16" Variable Speed Scroll Saw

1641 days ago by Handi75 | 5 comments »

This is a New addition to Craftsman Scroll Saw Series. The first one that I had, I’ve only used it twice, and if it wasn’t for the Replacement Warranty that I purchased just in case, I wouldn’t have this replacement now. So far, this Version of their Scroll Saw has Held up very well. There are only a few complaints with it thou. 1. The table is a Little Small2. The Table Tilt only tilts up to 45 Degree to the left Only, Not both left and right3. It does not hav...
